  • even though this is from 06', first thing i noticed was the pedal was smudging too many notes that should be clearer than what is heard. so if anyone plans on learning this piece, try to master the pedal points to make sure Chopin's masterpiece remains a masterpiece ;)

iruiz...keep at it man, stay positive

  • There's a different way to play this, that I know of. I can play it with my eyes closed ^^

But still, it had a grrrrreat feel to it :)

  • the part with all the dissonant chords from like 230 to 300 and then the transition back into the original theme is beautiful

  • the middle section needs a lot of work

  • dedicate to music man!!! you are a great artist. YOu are demonstration that digital technology is better than a bad acoustic for studying. bravo.

  • I would just like to say too all aspiring pianists that it's not about how perfectly you hit every note, but the experience of playing in front of an audience itself that is to be treasured and there is much to learn from each perfomance and anyone who has performed has advanced a great deal! An experienced listener sees the effort of a young person not their ideals.

  • This is a pretty hard piece. You are playing pretty good.

  • all of this bickering has made me want to puke!anyway i think you are alright. oh, and, f--k off to everyone else!

  • have you ever heard Horowitz play this piece? it is one of the most moving examples of music i have ever heard. i enjoyed your performance, and it's hardly fair to compare to a master of the twentieth century, but it's hard not to think of vlad...

  • no one has ever noticed that this is the background music in fma??? TTTTTT

    *sniff*

  • i learned this etude for that very reason! Ed standing in front of the gate and this song playing in the backround... loved it so much i had to learn it myself

  • oh^^ and this is the same song thats in fma-end xixi.

  • wow, thats perfectly amazing ^_^

hope that I too will be able to play that well someday...hehe

i can only play the first part of that song.

  • Lionel a la italiana!

  • clean up your performance just a bit and it will be lovely. you already have nice technique and a good sense of sound. you're well on your way to becoming an accomplished pianist. good job.

  • having trained in classical piano for nearly 15 of my 18 years, i feel i can provide a bit of constructive criticism. watch your tempo around the second minute and your fingering; i hear a few sloppy notes. try to be more light fingered so you can "float" across the keyboard. this allows for greater dynamic variation and more emotional appeal. with this piece you want people to feel this bittersweet longing.

  • nice critism, but i dont think anyone here asked for it

  • Sure, sure...bla bla bla... I would love to see you play it!!

  • man...ur wayyyyy too arrogant...

ur playing still needs lots more work...so stop acting as if ur the best in the world

    ...

  • You know what "I DON'T CARE" lol! I'm not a pianist or anything like that! I play for fun and I long as I have fun playing I don't care about what others think. If you like it good. If you don't too bad!

  • im not saying that ur playing is bad, seriously

ur like 100 x better than me.

but its just that well...u shouldnt post a snide remark every time somebody posts a comment thats not nice, i mean, its true that ur not a perfect pianist, so open up and accept both positive and negative remarks.

    thats what u should learn.

  • Ohh. ok. I think I understand. But the thing is I don't study piano anymore. I only play at church...etc. So it's really hard for me to "become better" or anything like that.

  • ya dont need 2...ur already good enough.

    lol

  • that was a bit of a childish response wasn't it "iruiz"? he/she was only trying to help. x

  • Very nice. I always preferred performances of this song in which the 1st part's melody was slow and savored.

  • Well played. I really like the part that begins at 1 min.53 in your video. It is really impressive ! I like it. Great performance at all ;)

  • i love this piece

i had to play it for a recital but i still cannot nail the part of the song 2min 41sec into your video... :\ very well played anyway.

  • hey thanks, I'm glad you liked how I played. To play that part that you need to nail down, just practice it really slow and without pedal. Then little by little start going faster and add the pedal.

  • ooo..that was a beautiful piece...especially the beginning....:D

  • Beautiful. How long have you been playing?

  • I've been playing since I was 8 years old. I took about 5 years of piano lessons and I still play, but I don't take lessons anymore. So I've been playing for about 11 years already!

  • Fantastic, absolutely loved it.

  • This is the most popular Chopin's Etude in Japan. Many people love this Etude and, of course, I was deeply impressed with your playing.

  • Ahh one of my favorite etudes by Chopin! Remarkable playing!

  • Thank you!

  • don't be too arrogant once u get a commenting reply dude, ur playing still needs LOTS of work...

  • Simply awesome. Great playing. This is one of my favorites of all time. Especially the slower first portion of the song.

  • Yes, this is one of my favorites too. Thanks for the comment!

  • E mayor? Or E major? LOL

  • Opps, sorry! LOL! thanks for telling me...
