no, not so much in base as in skydiving. In skydiving i do get squeeze from times to times, but in base i have never had any issues. Lower altitudes, and adrenaline to keep your aircanals wide and open :)

on this mountainside you can jump more or less all over the place, but its usually only certain places with enough vertical wall to jump off safe.

jumping off a mountain is free. Learning the skills to be able to do it again costs money, but i'd say its worth the cost.

Start skydiving at your local dropzone. There you will learn basic skills and get the contacts to start basejumping, most likely.

hike. or, actually in kjerag you can drive alot of the altitude up a mountain road before you start the hike, so there its supereasy :)

this is great. you are actually someone who did the jumps. all the wingsuit base jumping vids ive seen are just ramdom clips. this sport is definetely extreme. about how much are one of those suits?

depends on the suit. this suit is quite cheap. I think it was around 800 euros, the one i have now is around 1200. The suits are made by phoenix-fly. You can check them out on their website :)

would you say big wall juming is one of the safer disciplines in BASE? i would imagine that vertical walls like these wouldnt be too scary (as opposed to like 400' cliffs).

You can make it one of the less risky disciplines in BASE, if you do your homework first, jump the right cliff and your main focus when you jump is to open with good separation from the wall (and ground).

Bridges with good landingareas are in general a safer enviroment though.

In any case its one spesific jumper, conditions and object that makes the risk, not the object itself, though low vertical cliffs and B's in general have higher risk due to higher chance of objectstrike.

I have flash 10.1 with hw hd decode and the only thing this hd thing does is send ff cpu usage trough the roof (yeah, the gpu is supported) - it doesn't even resizes the video, anymore. wtf?

WOW. Do you feel any fearat all before you jump?

I definitely feel fear, but on most jumps i recognize it more as a really tense excitement, with every senses tickling of absolute focus. Fear and the reward i get from doing something i fear is a big motivation for me in this sport.

The amount of fear depends on the jump itself, and if its to much i take it as a signal that i should'nt go through with it. In that case i walk down, or change the plan to something less frightening :)
