Florida doesn't have the the oil resources of Alaska. I remember my uncle going to work on the Alaskan pipeline in the 70s and the state actually payed it's citizens $1000 a year to attract workers, I don't believe he paid any state or property taxes back then. I do know that the state distributes some of the oil wealth to citizens to this day, because it's a harsh climate and they need to keep a workforce. Practically socialist, isn't it?

An insider friend of mine from AZ. told me that McCain never got over the repubs calling his adoptive daughter black and insinuating that his wife cindy had a love child by a black man. he said that he was really pissed and to make nice, Bush promised to endorse McCain should he get the nod. Building roads and laying utility lines to a property you don't own is reckless and it cost Wasilla over a million in additional expenses.
