  • Can Commissioned Officers apply for Special Forces?

  • Years ago I was an 18x. Joe off the street, you will not make it. You have no experience and will land your self on the B team IF you make it lawl. They don't want you getting killed or killing anyone else. Go rip instead. You will get experience quick fast and in a hurry in ranger bat. Ranger bat is way diff from a Pog ass piece of shit getting ranger school on his re-up. There is always light at the end of the tunnel, which ever road your on.

  • @crazyhorse14 lol even if he did make it to the "B" team, he would of still made it further than you ever did, don't know why you're putting people down online, guess you have nothing better to do.

  • Gullah

  • Have to ask this. Who's the Toughest SOB's out there.. 1. Special Forces 2. Rangers 3. Navy Seals 4. Marine Corps Recon. 5.Delta Force 6.United Kingdom SAS

    6. German Kommando Spezialkräfte 7. Russian Spetsnaz GRU 8.United States Air Force Pararescue

  • @skinsman3 lmao rangers before delta?

  • @skinsman3 Just another kid who know everything because of his call of duty training hahaha.

  • Week four culminates in requiring you to maintain two seconds of eye contact with Chuck Norris - so far everyone has failed this section...

  • if your considering joining to be SF dont. Save yourself trouble and just enlist as a regular infantry.

  • @rketer thats not very supportive advice.

  • Comment removed

  • @rketer LOL!!! this is by far the most real post i've read on all of youtube !

  • Now thats a lot of training.

  • they make it look so easy and fun, lol what a load of crap but good salesmanship

  • Whats a GT score?

  • rapid advancement...meaning when your team is dropped into a combat zone and the guys ahead of you are KIA you get their rank...I know a guy who went from SGT to 2nd LT that way in Afghanistan a few years back...

  • @undeadsinner13 I give them credit. You're born to do this or you're not. Too much for me. Definitely bad ass.

  • @undeadsinner13 thats not what rapid advancement is you retard. You obviously have no idea what the hell you are talking about. You dont get field promoted from SGT to 2LT like that.

  • @undeadsinner13 u have no fuckin clue what your talking about

  • SF depends on FIST (13F)

  • I bench press 220 lbs.

  • special

  • These guys are so badass its not even funny.

  • The Special Forces pipeline requirements are: 4 years previous AD in an infantry-related field, Rank of Corporal or higher, 21 years of age or older, a previous deployment (12-23 months), eligible for a Top Secret clearance, and perfect physical/mental evaluation. Then its a 2 year training accession followed by a year of qualification ability and a year of unit formality and deployment evaluation. SERE level C, Airborne, HALO, RANGER, Combatives, Linguistics, brief Intelligence, and Leadership.

  • @Wolfe1661 & captain promotable for officers.

  • Id like to do a test where you take people who run marathons and put them throught the special forces training, just to see how they'd do

  • i dont think anybody understands this but the marines are a part of the navy.

  • @WarHero06 yup. i am in the army right now and i had the oppurtunity to speak with a retired marine and ex-philadelphia homicide lieutenant. he explained the marines were created to be the navy's land assault force

  • i didn't understand that, if i know foreign lanugage and i want to be us special forces officer after West Point grad. do i need to finish this program in 2 year or if i can do a lot of them i don't need do this program(2year) yes? can i finish in short time this courses? for example .

i know 6 foreign language, no problem physical program,i can shoot (comes from USMA), or just i need to learn which's i didn't learn at West Point? can i do?

  • @MrTurkishAzeriNY you .... west point ... did you had foreign classmates ?

cause im not a us citizen and i want to go to west point !!

  • @MrTurkishAzeriNY I have no idea what you just said. You should probably forget about your other 6 languages and learn English.

  • @MrTurkishAzeriNY what the hell did u just say?

  • Damn. I was in the Army from 1993-1999. I was at Fort Bragg in the 82 Airborne, and knew alot of Special Forces soldiers. I wish they had this program when I was in. Back then, they would not even look at you until you were E-4

  • Goddamn do recruits who enlist with 18x actually start at infantry OSUT, make it through all of that training and become a Green Beret all in one shot?

  • @Edordorito Yes: Infantry OSUT, Airborne, SOPC, SFAS, SFQC, Language Training, SERE, all in one shot.

  • @Edordorito sounds fun right?

  • @Edordorito

Not many do succeed, I think the washout rate is over 90% for the direct civilian to Army Special Forces pipeline. You have to figure that 18X-rays A) only get an abbreviated infantry OSUT(i think its 8 weeks and then airborne school) and B) they're basically competing against battle hardened veterans these days.

  • Log PT, lol SEALs invented that.

  • @Oxstayne nope.RMC gave it to Rangers.Rangers gave it to US frogmen in the early days of WWII.look it up.its history and fact

  • Bragg. not Benning

  • By the way. Take your bitchy marine and army infantry cries some where else. If you got balls go SF. I see more marines going SF than I do army going Force Re.

  • @crazyhorse14 what? i think you mean you see more soldiers going sf than you do marines going force recon.

  • I went active duty as a 18X. I was 11B in the guard. Good sh!t men!

  • @crazyhorse14 Liar on your page it says you want to be USAF. And plus 18X is not a mos it is Special Forces candidate. A SF MOS would be something like 18B, 18C, 18D and 18E. and if you dont succeed in 18X you become 11B. 18X is not a MOS

  • dumbass I wrote that shit when I created this account years ago when i wanted to be a PJ . 18X is an enlistment option, no shit its not an mos. I was national guard 11b. Went 18X active duty. 18X gives you SOPC and a shot at SFAS. If you make SFAS you get into the Q-course. Believe me, there are a shit ton of marines coming into the army for their shot at the glory. Remeber to ETADIK!

  • Uh yeah I kno my teacher is a guardsman and he just left for the qualification course at NC or something like that. And you can go ETADIK. IDGAF about the marines

  • Marines receive a more intensive Basic Training course than Navy, Army and Airforce personel because their units are primarily combat and combat support units. The other branches have a nine week basic training but those personel with combat MOS's have more intense MOS training than those who don't. Marine Corp boot camp is longer but consists of training components such as a full week of K.P. duty and more intensive drill and ceremony. No basic training, IMO, prepares a person for combat.

  • My dad can beat the shit out of your dad

  • why are people talking about army pog basic here?it just said they go through infantry osut at benning with is a lot like marine training if im not mistaken.

  • Why r people comparing Basic marines and Basic Army on a Army Special Forces video?

  • that was a army video you can read there shirts that say Army on this video

  • I know it's a army video i never said it wasn't. i'm saying why compare basic marines to "basic" Army on a Special Forces video Army SF(Green Beret's) is not the same. Just as regular navy Sailor's are not the same as SEALs in any way besides both caring the title Navy.

  • because Marines are dumb and come on here just to cause trouble

  • I'm not in the Army yet. I leave in a few months. I just think it's hilarious how these little military hopefuls think they know everything. Seriously, don't compare Army and Marines until you are one of either. I give the Marines kudos but the Army does their thing as well.

  • lots of kids talking like if they know what theyr talking about...keep playing call of duty...and shut the fuck up!

  • totally agree

  • a bisically trained Marine has nothing to do with special forces, when a Marine goes Force Recon, that is where a spec ops Marines' years of special training kicks in.

  • Used to be that Force Recon was considered to be the "spec ops" area in the Marines. Now Marines have a SpecOps command, where many of its operators are Recon Marines (although not limited to that MOS).

  • Rage has no clue what he's talking about. And to prove it I will make a one word statement that only those that should know do.... It's called "OPSEC" and you aren't showing any so shut tour mouth about things you have only heard about or seen on tv...

  • HOOAH!! I'll be doing this in 3 years!

  • I'll meet you there.heh.

  • lol pfft army and their pretty stuff... still very nice lol.

  • hah fuck that. go MP!

  • nick, can you explain me what is MP ... I'm not original from US , but living hear , I don't knew the large origin of the words ....

  • MP's are Blue falcons

  • I hope to get the score for this

  • lol yeah SOTIC, I went to that school

  • lol, you talking about SOTIC?

  • Exactly, Green Berrets can volunteer to go to dive school to be a combat swimmer it's in key west but it's nothing like or near as tuff as SEALs dive phase in BUDS but then again being a combat swimmer isn't a primary mission for the green berrets they train harder in diffrent areas

  • i say what what..in the butt

  • They don't show the escape and evade fun times!

Tearing the head off a chicken and all that good stuff.

  • Why get on here and comment about who is best. Seals, Delta, SF, Rangers, Force Recon. . . . . All of these are great and have more commitment than all of you who get on here and say one is better than the other.

  • i just made a reply to Alright4u about whose the best

  • You get it.

  • It's the individual that makes the difference. I'm a former Force Recon Marine. SF, S.E.A.L.'s, PJ, CCT, it all comes down to the individual, not the branch, nor the country as a matter a fact. But it is also what you want to do with your career, you want to go to Delta, join the Army. DEVGRU, become a SEAL. And so on and so forth.

  • thank you. someone who doesnt support the branch conflict of USMC and USAY, i appreciate it...

  • Never heard any Marine say former.

  • You were busy. Did you CC Coffman?

  • i'm enlisting in the USMC and hoping to go to ranger school in the army, i know there is some way to cross-train...

  • you just need to join the Army..forget the USMC... GO ARMY STRONG! j/k do whatever you want and good luck..im going Army

  • Yes you can cross train. But i would suggest for you to go army... Befor you decide RESEARCH! i would say talk to a recruiter of each. but some recruiters just suck and have no idea. Look at the benifits they both provide. Also Army ranks up 3x faster theen USMC. You can easly join the army as a E-3...

  • Army is way better when it comes to benefits...

  • I bet with a good hint that,none you commenters are INFANTRY!You haven't detailed

    a single point?

  • Infantry doesnt lead the way,... you cant lead whats not cleared... COMBAT ENGINEERS CLEAR THE WAY, HOOAH!

  • joey2phillips Infantry doesnt lead the way,... you cant lead whats not cleared... COMBAT ENGINEERS CLEAR THE WAY, HOOAH! yeah but some one has to secure their area!!

  • navy seals r better than special forces in many ways army needs to do wat tey do best... kill and blow shit up

  • Youre retarded. US Navy SEALs are Special Forces.

Army Special Forces is grueling. 2 yrs of training that will take you to many different places. SEALs have 18 months of training and they are as flexible as the Green Berets.

Trust me i LOVE the SEALs with a passion. But when you say that they get better training doesnt make sense.

Army special forces are used in operations that sometimes dont require you to fire a shot. SEALs are more combat oriented. They are more for fighting.

  • yes i kno but answer this: why do we so many different kinds of special forces? when we can have 1 force that does the job of 100 focres??

  • Why Not?

Why do we have a Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Army when we can have one huge branch?

Seperating them makes it easier to conduct operations and much more organized.

Each branch has its own kind of special forces. That specialize in what ever branch they are in.

    Makes things easy simply put.

  • yeai know but what about the snipers why cant they have 1 qualification standard and 1 sniper training coarse just place diferent snipers with the different "Branch" for awhile then switch? wouldnt this be more effective in when ur limited on time

  • Each have a diffrent mission. Just as Tier 1 tier2 and tier 3 spec ops have diffrent missions. SEALs and Green Berret's both specialize especially when first created as guiriella force unites but SEALs are a maritime force wile Green Berrets usually are more land. As of latly they are getting into more counter terrorism and doing more of the same job but when they where fist established they where completely diffrent.

  • i respect them equally too who doesnt?

  • You'd be suprised. And most people that talk shit about a certain Spec Op usually aren't in special forces or even in the military for that matter

  • @Dmega007 No, no, no, and no. SEALs are not Special Forces. They are special operations forces. There is only one Special Forces(notice the capitalization) and it is an Army unit.

  • Comment removed

  • You're completely wrong. The SEALS are officially recognized as the Navy's Special Forces. Each branch has it's own "Special Forces" unit. (Marines - Recon) (Army - Green Berets), (Navy - SEALS), (Airforce - Pararescue). There are also Special Operations Command Units: (Marines - MARSOC), (Airforce - AFSOC). There is only one Special Operations Unit, which is the Army's Airborne Rangers.

  • @cmexiraguan221 No, you have this backwards. The Green Berets are officially "US Army Special Forces."

  • fuck off....and take your "SEALs" with you...

  • ok... surely u should fuck off t and your "disrespect" with you

  • Neither isn't really better than the other. BUDS is more physically demanding than SF selection. But both will get the job done equally. SEALs are more search destroy and leave. Green Berret's are more search destroy then help the people of the land to get back on their feet. My dads a retired SEAL and was in SEAL team 6(DEVGRU) my two uncles where both Green Berrets and they both respect each other equally and don't think either one of them is better than the other

  • ur dadz was never in seal team six u dumbass

they were terminated due 2 bad behavior!

  • Your an idiot they changed their name to DEVGRU to keep a low profile. Their stationed in Norfolk Virginia where i grew up. Your another idiot that doesn't know their shit. Ask any active duty SEAL and they will tell you the same They all know about DEVGRU but then you probly dont know any SEALs. DEVGRU and DELTA are our only Black Ops in the united states other than the CIA operaters who are doing body snatch's over sea's witch all normaly former DELTA and DEVGRU Operaters. Learn your shit

  • O you can also ask any Ranger about DEVGRU since they aid DEVGRU just as they aid DELTA FORCE

  • dude, no one cares, and no once believes your lying ass

  • I could really give a shit if you believe a damn thing. your opinion doesn't mean jackshit to anyone and i know whats true

  • I dident ask for a response you dirty cunt, just shut your ass up and stop going on about something you dont, and never will belong too.

  • pft Ha okay bud

  • Young man, you should be proud of being a CE, if you are one.

I have read ad naseum who is the best. It depends on the mission. Please think. TY

  • agreed. im sick of all the "marines are the best" shit. they are well trained and tough as nails, but they would be nothing without the armys training, and still dont even compare to rangers, and to compare a marine to the special forces is just ignorant.

  • Army always covers more ground though!More combat etc...Is it a good thing,no!

  • they both have there good points but you need both for maximum success

  • Why claim anyone is the best, Hell, we need them all. It used to take about ten plus to support one Infantryman. The Marines are pround of their heritage, and; they should be respected. Pilots from the Army, Marines, AF to Navy have helped many a man in combat. Look at the big picture. What is wrong with being a supply sergeant, Signal Corps, TC. Enginneer, MP, Arty, Armor, etc?

  • or we can get 4 specific ppl and conquer the world... chuck norris (if u dont know who chuck is, go kill urself), charlie harper (two and a half men, played in navy seals), bear grylls (man vs wild), and arnold swartznegar (govnr of cali.)

  • No they don't who do you think trains the Marines the Army the only school they don't use is combat diver school, and the recon.

  • Hell no. Marines are grunts, comparable to Army infantry. Your average Army Airborne paratrooper is more highly trained then an average Marine and Army Rangers blow most Marines out the freaking water, cept for MARSOC. As for Army Special Forces, these guys are among the best, they are highly trained commandos trained in skills your average Soldier/Marine can only hope to learn.

BTW, michaelday61 is right, the Army provides training for most of the USMC, from Airborne to Armor, etc.

  • DUDE,ABN INFANTRY has ABN added and nothing more!Think about it...Your'e thinking RANGER/BATTALION RECON MARINES...

  • delta force is better than all it drags out the best from cia fbi army and marines so delta is better than airborn lol

  • retarded ignorand moron. marines are good fighters, but saying that they are bettert trained than green berets is just plain stupid. get your facts togheter

  • How does 13 weeks compare to 2 years...? Oh yeah, thats right, it doesn't.

  • basic training in the USMC is better than the army's basic training. there is limited info on MARSOC, Recon, Rangers etc. so im not going to compare the special forces although i think the seals are one of the most difficult...

  • "basic training in the USMC is better than the army's basic training"

    Which one?

  • Basic Combat Training is 11 weeks and recruit training for the USMC is 13 weeks. not too much of a difference but its just different

  • Well, that is for the non combat types. Fort Jackson etc.

I suggest looking up Infantry OSUT.

  • Can't say. I can honestly tell you, though, that USMC boot camp is just that...boot camp. Nobody is a certified badass from graduating 3 months of marching in a box formaion, shooting, and doing cardio until your dick falls off. Takes a few years. Been in for 4+ now. :-)

  • @usmcandrew16 -go to sleep dude, you dont know what your talkin about-2 weeks longer dont make you better, they just have to learn about the navy, thats who owns them.

  • not only is usmc basic a month longer, it is much more intense than the army basic.

  • @usmcandrew16 bullshit. the other month is just water survival

  • 13 weeks vs 9 weeks.. 13 weeks of intense diciplined training vs 9 weeks of easy soft training.. im not comparing a basically trained marine to an army ranger who has served in the regiment and has earned the ranger tab, the ranger is obviously better trained.. but a basically trained marine is much better trained than a basically trained soldier...

  • are you saying that Marines trainning are only 9 weeks. If you are then you are wrong, they train for 13 weeks, just saying

  • @usmcandrew16, Much better in what way dude? saying without a doubt every marine is "better" Than any army guy not in special forces is pretty ignorant. I mean They just held that sniper competition, guess who won three consecutive years? Two army guys, I'm not downing any Marine, but a Marine i know, who is weak in the mind and aint got much heart at all got his ass beat by a five foot three dude. Oh a different breed, riiight. We all fight for the same country dude. Untwist ya panties chief

  • thats not true, The Army teaches way more then the marines do in there boot camp. marines are not trained in any other weapons then teh M-16, nor are they taught how to fight in urban situations and live fire excises. They do in Army Basic Combat Training

  • wow you're fucking ignorant

  • its true dude, 13 week marine boot camp vs 9 week Army Basic Combat Training.

  • If you think that makes a difference.

The Royal Marines train 32 weeks (train in mountains.) The US Marines 12 weeks, 1 reception. (Drill & Ceremony) Like a serious difference training. Speaking of the army; Infantry recruits training at fort benning (home of the Infantry) attend OSUT, where they train 14 weeks straight, all male, Infantry training begins immediately.

There is a reason they send Infantry soldiers to Sand Hill, OSUT, and the others to BCT/MOS training.

    OSUT is not BCT

  • @bbrain14 yes i know this, OSUT is just BCT and Infantry, Armor, MP, Engineer or whatever AIT combinded togather. I have a friend at Marine Boot Camp right now, he said in a letter i got yesterday they have been watching Band of Brothers the last few days in Parris Island. he is in his 8th week, they have only done Drill and Ceremony, combatives, and just started shooting M-16s, he said they wont touch anything bigger then a m16 there

  • The Marines also have to go through infantry training for another 2 months after boot camp. EVERY marine has to do it. I don't know much about army basic training, but I'm sure that the basic marine is more proficient than the basic army soldier. Also marines have to qualify with the m-16 at 500 yards, the army only qualifies at 300.

  • The marines corps has little man syndrome. They feel they have something to prove because they are small in size and not nearly used as much. Im pretty sure if the marine corps and army fought against each other the Army would annihilate the Marines.

  • @chazkm obviously the Marines would be beat theyd put up a helluva fight but the Army is bigger in number

  • @chazkm The marines are used a 1000 times more then the Army... Pretty sure you should stop playing Call Of Duty and get your facts right...

  • @MrEhFromCanada

@MrEhFromCanada know from experience kid. There ins't anymore marines in Iraq. The Army national guard is the U.S.'s main source of military aid during natural disasters. Only reason you may think the Marines are somewhat as relevant as the Army is because they take cameras with them everywhere they go.

  • @chazkm marines are grunts.. they make them do all the dirty jobs and make them fight as much as possible... they get treated like shit

  • @MrEhFromCanada

Do you have any military experience at all? Did you know that like the Army the majority of personnel in the marine corps are actually support troops that are non combatants? You should really look into things before you speak nonsense.

  • @chazkm Maybe your right, maybe your not, from what I've heard its the opposite...

  • @MrEhFromCanada

@MrEhFromCanada I use to be in the military and I didn't know much about it except for my job. Then I started reading more and more about the Army, the rest of the military and America's wars in general. If you are interested in something read authentic articles about it instead of listening to what people tell you.

  • You're totally wrong.

  • @FaTaL305 I 2 friends at MC boot camp RIGHT NOW in parris island, they wont get to touch anything bigger then a M-16 until after they graduate

  • @CaptainAmerica322 13 weeks is just one of the phase.
