Nuñez is such a wonderful swan, so now my idols are: Lopatkina, Zakharova and Nuñez. I'm also Spanish so it's cool :)
Swan Lake is such a beautiful ballet. It's simplistic and easy on the eyes. I found the Nutcracker to be too garish and loud, visually. The emotion that Marianela conveys through dance is truly moving. I am glad I used Swan Lake as a theme for my art project.
Her balances are so beautifully floated and her jump is so light. She turns like a dream as Odile. Exceptional! As a homebound person, I am so grateful to see this on youtube.com. Thank you, eliathestar!

@superkiwi1000 uliana is aging and losing her strength and sharpness unfortunately...but she keeps the record of the best odette character. marianela, she is fresh and strong and voluptuous and musical and clean and everything... they are just different. but i'd say nowadays uliana doesn't live up to her fame.
@kdub10009 Yeah well most ballet are full of stuffy old people of authority so I can see why Marianela is put down cause of that. I agree about her being strong and exquisite along with being the best actress in the royal ballet. She more fun to watch than Cojocaru or Rojo

It's where the dancer steps onto one foot, with her back leg is up behind her and slightly bent. She starts a whole series of them at 1:12. She's turning though, so I guess technically they'd be attitude turns.

I think Marianela is one of the top three or four ballerinas in the world today - she is about as close to perfection as you can get.
