I LOVE this game as for Lost Odyssey it was pretty good. Wasn't perfect but good. And I liked Blue Dragon a lot. I hope we see more RPG'S in the future for the 360 and PS3. I love both systems.

why did they made this game cartoonish, with the graphic advancement of the 360 they should have made it like more human like the last remnant, anyway in gameplay its one of the best RPG to date.
This is because they want 2 stick 2 the original Tales of look. U can't blame them the artwork is superb (Kusoke Fujishima who else could have done this :D) Around 15-16 years these games have been around :)
I'd have to partially disagree on that one. I also like Vesperia a lot more than Symphonia, but I also think that the Vesperia voice acting is far superior. Don't you remember the travesty that was Colette's voice?
If you do buy the sequel (which I'd still reccomend despite critical failure and moderate fan backlash) you'll find that Colette's voice actor has improved since the original, and that the new cast (particularly Johnny Yong Bosch's character) get pretty good voice talent behind them. That said, they've replaced Zelos, Lloyd and Sheena with really shoddy VAs.

I have a ps2 and a xbox 360. i would suggest getting a 360 becasue i dont even use my ps2 anymore and theyre are alot of good rpg's on 360. Plus Final Fantasy XIII is coming out on 360. I hope this helped.

well, actualy I'm a 360 fanboy... but in your case... get a ps3, there you can play almost all games which are also releasing for the 360 and ps2 games if you have the luck to get on of the "old" pieces.
There is already a "Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World " for the Wii. You should check that out seeing as how Namco makes all of the "Tales of" games.
I don't know. I think the ps3 is starting to catch while the 360 is slowing down a bit. It's hard to tell though. I really haven't seen any major titles that truly grab my interest lately for either system.

TOS2 has a whopping... like... 15-25 hours of gameplay I hear. So even as a Wii owner, Vesperia is what tipped me over the edge enough to decide to buy a 360. Other games too, but it's the one that really made my decision. That and I can actually play games and do stuff with my friends online without jumping through hoops. It's a bigger deal once you realize you and your friends are going to different college.

I mean that the fighting system is the same (ofc), the story evolves to the player in the same way, and the world of the game is very alike.
You know, mana = aer, exsphere = blastia, something makes the mana/aer disappear, and the characters have to fight to get it back, and so on.
Also, there's the cooking (even the Master Chef), the Inns and shops, costumes and titles.
Unfortunately I happen to live in Europe, so the 2nd ToS haven't hit the shelves yet, and therefore I have not tried it. =(

I played the 1st ToS on GC, and ToV on Xbox 360, and got used to the controllers really fast.
But I guess they're not all that different.
I really enjoyed this game (though I haven't finished it yet), but I can hardly compare them. That's tough.
But I think this game really is worth the money you pay for it.
So my advice to you: buy it, and compare yourself.

Mass Effect, Fallout 3 and Fable 2 are all shitty western RPGs. Secoond-rate plots and plenty of pointless sidequests.
I was referring to jRPGs, which all have weak sales numbers on 360. Lost Odyssey never reached a million units sold worldwide.
Face it, the Xbox 360 is a shooters console and the good RPGs never do as well at they deserve to. That's reality.

You should know alot about second rate RPG's with the name like Noctis(FFVSXIII),Blue dragon and lost odyssey sold a million FACT. You ask why developers put jRPGs onto the 360 first? It's because Microsoft bribes them with large sums of money. Why else would they put their games on a console that totally FAILED in Japan?

And thanks for beta testing those RPGs on the 360; the PS3 gets the full, optimized versions of RPGs like Tales of Vesperia, The Last Remnant, SO4, etc not the shitty versions with framerate issues and flaws like the initial 360 ones.

TOS2 has a whopping... like... 15-25 hours of gameplay I hear. So even as a Wii owner, Vesperia is what tipped me over the edge enough to decide to buy a 360. Other games too, but it's the one that really made my decision. That and I can actually play games and do stuff with my friends online without jumping through hoops. It's a bigger deal once you realize you and your friends are going to different college.
