Hey nice vid, BTW i was looking at the portafolio of this aquarium and the have a Shark [looks like a requiem shark, actually a Blacktip, but not shure], in an aquarium like 400G.. So, my question is wich size you think would be great to mantain a Blacktip some Butterflyfish, angels tangs, and even a Bonnet Head?? 1000G??
hey S, i would not try sharks in anything less than a 10 foot long tank, and I would make sure I could get Black Tips and Bonnetheads before I started the project as many Dept Of Fish & Game dont allow these large sharks.
hey M, chances are a FOWLR tank is going to have higher nutrients and minimal lighting, thats not good for corals. most corals and anemones are photosynthetic, meaning they need light, usually strong light. as you increase the light so does the water temperature... which is not good for corals. if you are determined not to spend the money but want to try an anemone consider the Condylactus. its the least expensive anemone.
Hey Jim, You are huge compared to that other guy. Ive been wondering for a long time does your registration plate on your van stand for resplendent angelfish
@lafishguy Your paying for the face to face consultation. Well worth it if it is a good shop. The internet is great, but good ol' customer service is worth it's weight in gold.

good episode, but some of that guys tanks where extremely overstocked. i beleive its 2500? gallons of water for the smallest aquarium suitable shark the bamboo and thats just for 1.
just cause they can move around does not mean the tank can cope with their bioload... and sharks like to swim short distances at high speeds, something they cant do in that torture chamber...
The problem with local fish shops is that the mentioned "expertise" comes with often over-the-top prices. I just bought a tank that costs 750 for 600 online. With the vast amount of information available online, I see no reason to go to the fish store just to have them charge me vastly more.
Hiya Jim, packing and shipping costs = $0 for the order, also applied a $0 sales tax for shipping within California. Don't get me wrong, I love my local fish stores and the stock they have, I just think that the higher prices (which accumulate over several different parts that are needed to create a fully functional aquarium) create a sort of barrier that dissuades people from getting into the hobby. Regardless, keep up the great work, and best of luck to your business!
i wish my LFS sold T-5's, hey Jim is there an ADA or Green leaf aquarium store near you that you could tour for us freshwater planted tank junkies? thanks for all the great vids bud!
Lol we we we

Are there any hardy corals or anemenies that can survive in a fowlr tank, without and fancy equipment?
Keep up the great work!

hi guys i only have one question: what´s the best kind of filter, the most suitable for a 40 gallon fish tank????????
kitanotom36 1 year ago
hey K, a wet-dry trickle filter.... but it all depends on what you plan on holding in the tank.

I would rather buy at a local shop any day rather then buying online....due to the simple fact that you know what your getting!

sharks look like they have room to move around and a bamboo shark does not need a 2500 gallon tank.
