Shirley...an amazingly talented child. This film....kinda cute, I guess. It has its moments, but I'm not not crazy about it. I think it was a take on "What Price Glory?" I've never seen that film, so I can't compare.
I read that Shirley said that this short film is a cynical exploitation the innocence of children and that it, and other such films were sometimes sexist or racist. I suppose that could be so.

i remember watching this when i was little! i just found it funny. Usually kids don't register "oh those little kids are dancing in a risque way and these little boys are hot for her!" I just thought they were cute! And honestly a lot of shows and movies from back then here a little different. Looney Tunes was extremly violent, racist and risque and it was only 10 years after this.
