Yngwie Malmsteen should call it a day. It seems that he is stuck playing the same practice riffs that he played in 1986. His speed is impressive, but he lacks the emotion, like many play by number shredders. Quality over quantity is the key. Not how many notes you can play in 16 measures. Someone discredited the blues... whoa!!! Hold on there for just a minute, there are blues players out there that have more soul in their discarded fingernail clippings than these so called shredders.
maybe you'd like to explicate exactly what you mean by "emotion" and "soul," since you think you are capable of making judgments about who has them and who doesn't. how do you know what yngwie feels about his music? just because it's not communicating anything to you doesn't mean it's an objective fact that the music lacks emotion and soul (whatever that means).

Actually, there is a lot of feeling in there. Some where people lost the idea of what feeling is and only associate feeling with sadness(blues) anger(metal) or sexy(randb). This song is actually rather blissfull and if you have problems putting feeling into your arpeggios, then maybe you should practice more or stop thinking you know what feeling actually is.
His vibratos have more passion in them than a good 99% of blues guitarists out there so stop hating on shredders for their ability to have feeling at 400 bpm and that you're brain can't seem to interpret it.
My brain can interpret it very well.... your's just can't.... have a nice day man... and don't forget to listen to malmsteen playing the same shit over and over again....

Can't really compare Vai and Malmsteen. Vai can and has played Malmsteen... I don't think anyone can really do justice to some of Vai's stuff. Both amazing players though.
