  • thanks for sharing this. good example of discrimination. I disliked because I dislike the situation not the video! it was so easy to do in chicago, wow, too many people refused you...sheesh.

  • Correction: You didn't chose this. You are who you are. You were born a male, you are a male. It confuses other people and if they don't think it's a big deal, then they should comply because this is your life and you deserve to be happy. Good luck on the gender marker change.

  • Ty,my dad is the most conservative man ever-he calls people fags dikes and freaks. You seem to have more experience...do u think he'll accept me(i'm ftm)

  • omg that sucks gracefullcorn

well he will have to get over it eventually.. ya know? depending how old you are... you might just have to decide whats more important.. you being comfortable with yourself, or your dad getting a reality check and realizing some people dont think the same way he does... good luck!

  • thanx!!!

  • you might have answered this already somewhere, I didn't check the comments: why are you going to court for this?

It was my impression that for drivers lic/social security all that is required is a letter from your surgeon and possibly therapist. I know for a fact that SS will change your marker without a court order. Once SS changes it, then the DMV has to change it.

Now, if you're trying to do this for your birth certificate then it's a different story.

  • I totally understand I havent told my parents about my condition but I hate having to live my life as a female cause its not who I am...wish people would learn to be more accepting and not judgemental....parents are the worse of the whole process I feel like cause if there not accepting it makes things really tough....there in your life thats why....who gives a damn what random people or judges say....stay focused with everything and good luck!

  • hey man... you can get your marker changed and you don't have to file in your county. i got mine changed on my tx id. there are no judges in your county that will work with you... by law you can take your order out of your county

  • So~ I've been confused about this since forever.

When you get your name or gender marker changed, you can do that from where you live presently? I kept thinking you had to go back to the state where you were born, or something.

    ~Kale.

  • Dude. You may have to move out of TX if you want to move your gender marker. Many move to CA and after 6 months you can do it with no problems. Sorry you have to go through all that and yes it is BS. Seriously though you should think about moving to a more liberal State. It would make your life a hell of a lot easier.

  • I really hope it works out for you man. I've got my fingers crossed for you.

  • That court stuff is messed up dude, I'm sorry. Good to know that your dad is starting to understand some of your problems and why it keeps happening. Good luck on the 16th.

  • That's selfish on their part :/

  • Hey Man, If things don't go well with the courts, look into talking with the Transgender Law Center in San Francisco. Well, actually, just look them up online anyway, they have some info about name/gender marker changes in many states. The more we are in their space, the more it becomes common. We are changing history; that is hard.

  • Hang in there man. Dig the facial scruff...

  • Keep fightin dont give up.

I'm glad ur dad is finally gettin what is happenin in ur life.

  • Mmmooovveeee!!!

  • Good luck man. I hope it works out for you.

    Your voice sounds great.

  • awesome whit ur dad!!tuff whit the name change:( niiice hair

  • Good luck with the gender marker. Fingers crossed for you dude.

  • That sucks.

If all the judges reject your case, try going back to the first one and explain what happened. Explain exactly how important this is to you. It may sound silly but it's worth a try. People often budge if they see that you've got no place left to go.

  • it isent a choice to transition !

hey man, that was what the some Doc^s have done to me too...and they take money for this and say I am a TS expert! ha...ha...

  • That is really awful, about the judges.

    Powerful video, great honesty.

Your hair looks awesome by the way =]

  • can i just say that you're looking really good? thanks for sharing your vids with us :)

  • Did Raphel write you a letter? Isn't that all you need? I didn't think you needed to go to court if you had a letter.

  • Its a long complicated story... i could get it changed at the DMV and SS with just a letter yes. But I was born out of state and need the court documents to change my birth cert, passport, and international DL

  • where were you born?

  • North Dakota... I cant even get a new birth cert, just an amended one. Which is why I need to get my international documentation changed, so I can just use that.

  • Are you having to pay the court fees every time you go to court and they don't hear it?? I'm going to court in Nov. in Tarrant Ct. to get the name change and will attempt the gender change at that point to try to save money..

  • No You just pay once to file it with the court. It was $370 I think.... I remember it was three and a seemingly random number lol. I think it varies co to co though.

  • wow dude :( This sucks, Texas really does sound like the residents have the shitty end of the stick unless they're white, upper class, heterosexual, cisgendered men :(

Hope you get it sorted out man cuz this shit's ridiculous! Good to hear about your dad's realisation that he's 'fuel to the fire' so to speak.

By the way..the chin strap looks sweeet!

  • mmm you're gorgeous.. you need to be happy :D

  • and it doesnt cost to get it changed at the ssocial security office.

  • I changed my gender marker at the social security office in Mckinney, and took that documentation and the surgery letter to the dps. this was in august of this year. Try that!

  • :D Really now? hmm... Ill have to try that for sure! But I still have to get the court documentation for my out od state birth cert, passport and international DL

  • Reality makes an interesting teacher--even for dads.

Good luck with the judge. Elections do funny things to people, even judges.

If the hair is bugging you, cut it.

  • Texas is one of the three states that are near impossible to change your gender marker on - you can find an attorney in your area but best bet to get help is contact Shannon Minter at NCLR. You can also contact Transgender Law Center in Ca for advise. If you need any help let me know.

  • You might consider hiring an attorney...

We get paid to help with things like this.

Lawyers- making judges listen since 640 B.C.

  • LOL! I know.... but I've spent so much money already, I'm trying to avoid having to do spend more. If This judge wont have any of it Ill have to look into a lawyer.

  • I love your tan!!!111

  • yeah i don't understand how somethingn like this can be so different from state to state. I am a virginia resident and i just took my surgical letter to the DMV and social services and that was it. done. no judge ever took one look at me. same in florida (that's where i was born) to get my birth certificate i just mailed in paperwork and bam done 50 bucks and a new birth certificate in less than 2 weeks. you really should call the ACLU or your states Equality organization ex equality florida

  • you look good with longer hair!!

  • sorry to hear bout that, good luck though.

p.s you need to shave dude lol.

  • Im on a shaving strike till thanksgiving. Trying to see what I can grow before I go to thanksgiving.

  • Damn man, sorry to hear you are having problems, best of luck with getting your marker changed.

  • good to see you back..good luck with getting the gender marker changed

  • Also good job in standing up to your parents. If they finally get it, it will be two less bigots in the world.

  • You gotta get out of Texas...

  • I hope you get everything worked out with court and getting your case heard. You are looking good these days. Your hair dose not look bad to be honest its nice seeing you with hair. Well I hope you have a good night

  • hey man, good luck getting your case heard. these judges should take one look at you and realize it'd be pretty damn ridiculous for you to have to carry around something with the wrong gender at this point... but unfortunately common sense and common decency don't prevail above the law and fear of not being re-elected...

  • that is complete crap that they dont have to hear the case!! complete crap!!!!

but im sure you will be able to get this all sorted out, it will happen.

and i know the feeling of the day after halloween hurting, mann that was one good night but one bad morning after LOL

glad you had a good halloween and im sure you will get all of this sorted out :)
