Strangers- people you don't know. In order for us to have the friends that we have either in person or online you have to put yourself out there and introduce yourself to a stranger. SOme people are closed-minded and no amount of explaining can change that. For people in the military who are stationed all over the world the internet is the best and cheapest way to keep in touch with friends and family. For those people who come to you with MESS about online friends, tell them to get a life.

Ive had something happen to me where i had an online friend for YEARSSS (about 5y to be exact) completely lie to me about who they said they were, so after that i kinda subconsciously stopped talking to all the friends i had online at one time...which was a lot now that i think about it...and kind of swore off meeting people online, and ended up being one of those people that r like.."meeting ppl online is weird". But in all honesty nothing is wrong with it...just know who u r REALLY talking to.

I so agree. Just b/c you can stand in front of somebody doesn't mean they are any more honest or more of a friend than someone you met online. Plus in meeting someone online you can get a feel for who they are and they're personality faster than in life b/c they have already put themselves out there. Yes there are creepy people but the majority of the X and Y generations are frank about who and what they are in their online profiles.
