  • Can I ask again... when using the sync ..does it make any of the beats inside AD line up with any others of different tempos .. just by clicking the sync and then dragging it into reaper...thanks...

  • thx for this, a good primer

  • Thanks, helpful video....where do you get that audio loops program please...

  • @stevoe1000 only REAPER and Addictive drums demo in this video. Google 'em!

  • @GaryJDavies thanks, yeah i got the demo thanks...

  • your voice is very soothing. could fall asleep to that. You got any compressor and EQ on it?

  • @Pasghetti3 Yes he has...he actually sounds like david beckham before he mixed & sampled his voice ...but changed his voice via reaper ...

You can even sample famous voices ....i sampled elvis voice when i am on the phone ..and hitlers when mom askes me to clean my room . I can swear at her in german ....and she dont understand .

Is this wrong ? ...its wrong isnt it ? ...ok , i'll stop doing it.

  • i have a quick question, about reaper in general... if i open a VST, and then close the screen for it, how do i open it again? LOL, i'm new to Reaper, but I'm liking the look of it!

  • OK, so when I do what you did, Reaper doesn't play the midi drum sounds. It just plays the midi file, but there is no sound. It's not reading the midi like it would, say, a wav file. I must be missing something really basic. Do I need to tweak some setting in Reaper? I don't have any problem with it reading the AD plugin.

  • How do i use addictive drums to add sounds to my MIDI recordings that i recorded with my electric drum kit? Please someone help

  • where do you mainly get your audio drum loops from? thanks.

  • Cheers Gary, after getting back into DAW/MIDI recording after the simpleness of Cubase 1 in 1992 on an Atari, this is the simplest demonstration of how to get the drum tracks down so one can get into the songwriting bit

  • youre a legend man.thanks for that

  • How come the midi loops stay where they are physically and dont snap to the adjusted measure when you change the tempo ?

  • hi, how did you manage to load addictive drums in reaper? because you are supposed to load it onto a host program right? and apparently you cant load it into reaper- what did you do to open it up?

  • @GarretsShadow in reaper u have to find it in the vst host and reaper will recognize it

  • ok, I've got full version loaded in my VSTi folder, arm a midi track, and when i drag and drop a beat in Reaper I get "reaper error can not import 1 of 1" I did not have this problem with the demo version...any ideas?

  • if this happens to you, try re installing reaper...this fixed the issue....

  • Thanks for this vid mate, very helpful. Keep up the great work. 5/5

  • where i can find the Addictive Drums??

    Please Help me!

    I'm new in this softwere!!!

    Thanks!

  • When it comes to making a whole drum pattern for a song, can you only use the beats they provide or can you custom make beats?

  • Yes you can make custom beats - you can either record live using a MIDI keyboard etc, draw your own into a MIDI editor, or modify one of the existing patterns once you have dragged it in to your preject. Totally flexible in that way!

  • I guess i'm buying this sucker then lol. Checkout my songs by the way.

  • Get the demo first! Its fully functional except for a very limited drum set.

  • how on earth do you drag and drop original beats you make in AD to reaper? i can't seem to do it.

  • @GaryJDavies You said the demo is fully functional?! Isn't it just for a limited time? Please respond! :)

  • great vid, thanks for the info! one question though. how do i OPEN addictive drums in reaper?

  • Open a MIDI track and in the effects box find AD Vsti

  • put a copy of addictive drums in the vst folder

  • awesome video.

Thanks for sharing such useful information with us.

  • good video. Do you now how in reaper I can change the drum map so that my dd505 triggers correctly. For example the two toms gives cymbals and he kick doesn't sound at all. can't see how in reaper to assign pads to correct sounds.

  • At least with TD-3 and Ezdrummer, I had to change some stuff in the TD-3 module. :P

I don't know about yours, though.

  • Im having the same issue, except for importing midi.

  • I figured it out myself in the end. You need to use the midi map in reaper. First edit the text file with your assignments, then save and reload reaper and add midimappind. make sure this is first in the chain before A. drums or bfd or whatever you use and slect the midi channel and then you will see the midi notes change to what you want them to be. S.

  • this video focuses more on how to actually use AD but my problem is how to actually get it open in reaper. i already know how to use it. so u mind either telling me or making a new video on how to set it up? it would be greatly appreciated.

  • You need to make sure the VSTi (.dll) is installed to a location that Reaper is looking for VST's (Options>Prefs>Plug-ins>VST). It should then appear as a VSTi or Instrument, when you click to add FX to a track. Good luck!

  • Thanks man. I never knew I had to specifically find the .dll.

  • Thanks for the tip. It worked for this program. I'm trying to add a SF2 file in this way but it doesn't work. Is there another way to make Reaper recognize the SF2 file? Much appreciated

  • If you have a look for the SFZ virtual instrument it allows you to load/play the soundfont (sf2) files.

  • THANKS.GARY...VERY USEFUL...

  • Thanks Gary! Been getting into reaper from Sonar, and was just looking at AD also. Clears up alot, going to buy both tonight! Great job

  • reaper is the best for demos, etc.

  • I didn't knew that Reaper could handle audio loops like Acid : awesome !!!

    Thanks for the tip ;-)

  • Thanks.

  • I use it and I think it is a great tool for the drummer that doesn't play the instrument anymore, but still writes ***** definately!!!

  • lovin the tutorial.... 5/5
