This is a tragedy and my prayers are with the families of the victims and the assailant. But I can't help but wonder if the outcome would have been different if this would have happened at Colorado State University where students are allowed to carry concealed weapons. It may still have been a tragedy, but most likely the number of victims would have been fewer. But then again, it probably wouldn't have happened at all, because thses types of killers rarely choose a place where guns are allowed.

I really appreciate your support. I'm a student at VT who was there in the midst of the shootings. I graduate this year, in 2009, as an accounting major, and although I am happy to be graduating, my heart will always lie here at Tech, and with those of my friends who lost their lives that tragic day. You talk prevention in the future & I just want to say people like you, young adults providing a service for the youth is a way in which you, yourselves may help kids become more positive in their life. Massachusetts schools had Monday off for Patriots Day/Evacuation Day, so I was sitting in my room when my friend told me about this. The scariest thing for me is that it's a school that so many of us know people at. It's a school not so different from many others - including my own, UMass Amherst. I hope that somehow the families and friends of those who were victims of this great tragedy can somehow move forward.

I think your presentation was well thoughtout and beautifully presented; however I think its important to show the positive thigs college students do in their communitys as well. Like the kids at Best Read Blind. they went on a shooting spree at their college but they did theirs with cameras, what a difference.

Also, the fact is that people here are less likely to have a gun pointed at their head on the streets; the only reason why this incidents happened at schools is because children are vulnerable and cannot defend themselves properly and because people are packed up in schools; thus it is easy to kill them.

Even though I pay hommage to those that died, it was not inevitable. Search YouTube for arguments, I am not going to sum them all up again. There was one thing I noticed among the messages; the amount of prayers. Prayers prayers prayers, that all you can of this. Oh, thank you for taking the time to pray but not actually changing the legislation involving firearms. And yes, Spydyee, there are places where innocent students do not get shot.

Cho in his twisted video complained "you planted cancer in my head and terrorism in my heart" I can not help but think he was referring to Giovanni's poem. Perhaps it was Giovannis intent to teach such hatred. She is not subtle. Her opinion of Whites, Jews and Asians is very low as indicated by two of her poems and Cho's victims included all of those. Perhaps she has instigated racial violence.

On behalf of myself and my students here in West Virginia, I wish to extend our condolences to those affected by the senseless violence on the Virginia Tech Campus. Kuro was right, even one death is one too many. For years we have sat and watched violence like this occur in other places of the country. Its time we all stood as one and said "THAT IS ENOUGH!" and did our part to stop such horrific acts from occuring again. Through tragedy, comes triumph and we ALL shall prevail.

Where are the tribute videos for the innocent Iraqis? When something similar happens to Americans, why is there a different reaction? As the American empire continues its brutal expansion with over 700 military bases around the world, why is there so much naivety & hypocrisy in questioning how the Virginia Tech incident could happen? You talk prevention in the future & I just want to say people like you, young adults providing a service for the youth is a way in which you, yourselves may help kids become more positive in their life. Many young people feel the world is against them while growing up & I think it's evident that not dealt with it can lead to major psychological problems in a few. This was very sad & my thoughts with students who attend VT, the families & to the people that lost their lives Monday morning.

Massachusetts schools had Monday off for Patriots Day/Evacuation Day, so I was sitting in my room when my friend told me about this. The scariest thing for me is that it's a school that so many of us know people at. It's a school not so different from many others - including my own, UMass Amherst. I hope that somehow the families and friends of those who were victims of this great tragedy can somehow move forward.
