Im one of the few non-US people who actually likes american football but it does bug me that so many American teams claim to be the best in the world. They are, but no-one else plays football/baseball (with a few exceptions such as Japan playing baseball). USA is one country. The end of the superbowl was class but the rest of the game just drags on too long for me, with too many stoppages. I prefer rugby but must admit a good quarter-back has some amazing skills

Soccer is far less violent than football. Soccer players hardly ever collide with each other, so they don't need helmets. And yet they do wear some protective gear. How many pro soccer players play without shinguards?
