I'm a Baritone and have performed this a few times. Could be slower but I can't find fault with it! Tempo is, to an extent, personal choice anyway. If I had one small criticism it would be that it sounded just a tiny bit musical theatre-esque, but I think that was just your Accent, which as somebody English I am not so used to. The tuning was absolutely flawless and you have a wonderful tone to your voice. I used to find it hard to really get behind the words with this one but you nailed it.
That is some wonderful natural talent. You really have a special vibrancy in the interpretation of text. I'm not sure how old you are, but I would say that you really have some potential. Keep developing your voice!
I think it's way too fast! It's beautiful, I wish I sang it so flawlessly in my exam today, but it's written at like half the speed you sang the start of each verse at.
Lovely voice indeed, but please notice: in the score it says: LENTO .. this song is often sung too fast.. Also the beginning is always a bit unclear .. they are triplets, if I'm not mistaken (haven't got the score here). And I would suggest to make more use of dynamics. And why not slow down, when singing: 'When the long trick's over'. I always lengthen l-o-o-o-n-g quite bit, to make it clear. Just a little bit of course, but it works! You have a lovely voice, and your presentation is super!
lovely performance. It is difficult to tell if you are a high baritone or a tenor. It is a great sound with good phrasing. If you are a baritone then you may want to look at bringing darker colour up into your voice this will give the sound a lot more character, this will come with age. Excellent diction - English art song has many excellent songs, try Linden Lea by Vaughan Williams and Quilter's Let us garlands bring. Well done very good performance.
yours is the best I have heard (sung). When you have finished a performance, don't immediately bow or leave the stage, but stay in the moment and ignore the audience a little. The space after such a good performance needs to be longer. I suggest you put your name on this work, as well as Masefield's
With your frequent use of straight tone and some scooping and sliding, you sound kinda musical-theatery to me as opposed to classical. Depending on what your ultimate career goals are, this might not be a bad thing. Enjoyable performance. Your hands and body in general could be more natural, less frozen.
A fine voice and a thoughtful interpretation - from your expression, we could see that you were thinking of what the words meant. Perhaps performed a little too quickly - the music is marked Lento with a quaver beat of about 52 - 56. Why have you disabled the rating? I was going to give you 5 *
You said on that video of that laurence guy what about my version. My verdict is very good. Good expression, dynamics and a good range of tempo with the rall at the end. Few of your notes you slide to, prehaps you could stop that, but appart from that fantasic XD. Keep it up. Where are abouts are you from?
Very nice Edward! Great diction and dynamic movement :)

I sing the tenor version but also sometimes sing the baritone key, but all the covers on youtube seem to be in the baritone key

One of the best I have heard/seen on here. Currently doing this for my A Levels and needed something to help me remember my words, =D.
Just to let you know love how you've put your own twist on this is as listening to some of the originals is enough to send anyone to sleep, =D
