too bad you are not located in wisconsin, we're looking for a keybdist in this style for our band...doing this type of stuff and more...joe sample, steely, crusaders, etc...70's jazz fusion...
@progjazzfusion Sounds like one hell of a great project, PrgJzFs. Wish I was, too. Ohio is hell with patches of heaven you have to desperately find by digging up with a headlamp and a mattock. I'd move to WI in a minute if I had a job waiting there for me that paid more than $15/hour.
@taylorgrey2004 - thanks for the reply. I wrote that a year ago. Just a month ago I finally found a keybdist in this vein. i guess OH is similar to WI in musical appreciation for jazzy stuff (...ie very poor like most midwestern rust belt cities..here the blues bar bands rule, IF they can even get gigs in the few live music venues left thanks to the dj's.). Chicago is better I hear. Some great stuff coming out of there for new groups that sound more like classic 70s fusiony, yet not smooth jazz
SWEET STUFF! KEEP THE STEELY COMING! When I get a chance I will try to learn this. The only problem is if I do, my brother will probably kiss me on the lips and that would might not be nice. Especially if he hasn't shaved.

I love those 2 chords at 1:06 and 7. Classic Fagen.

Your interpretation is much better instrumented than the original song. Go, get some drummer and a bassist and play it again!

Oh yeah :-) The Rhodes is the closest thing to ear sex I know of....

@taylorgrey2004 - yeah but that is a wurlitzer electric piano he's playing here. I like the rhodes better...that's what donald played on josie.

Nice! Ever tried it on a Rhodes?

Very good. I like the sound of the instrument and your singing is pretty good too.
