@ferelinstincts how they arrange the chapters was inspiration from Resident Evil Revelations which alternates between Jill and Chris who are in 2 different scenarios.
@ferelinstincts Capcom stated that it's a mixture of survival, horror, and action elements which this a new type of horror they call dramatic horror and all 3 scenarios intertwine so they work it in like this...

Chris = action

@ferelinstincts And don't get me wrong I want RE6 to be scary and from what I saw in the trailer specially leon's part it seems like it was going in that direction, but at the same time I don't mind them mixing it up alittle with some action, because that's one of the reasons I don't like silent hill anymore, because they used the same formula that I just got bored of. Although the new game seems to mix alittle more action so maybe it'll bring silent hill back.

@ferelinstincts I am not saying that horror survival is dead, there are still plenty of horror survival games out there. What I am saying is that there is only so many ways a fanchise in this care resident evil can use the same formula that made it what it is. And this apply to other games too, look at gears of war 3, uncharted 3, or assassin creed RE, they can not do the same thing over and over again because at some point it's just going to get old.

Games like Gears of War etc. they depend on the gameplay mechanics but with a Survival Horror, it's about the atmosphere, limited ammunition, limited saves, constantly being on the run and so on and so on. Yup I know exactly how you feel on this. If you've played the 1st dead space, it had great horror in there. Because you were alone, fragile because enemies could kill you so quickly and horrificly (if that's a word) with limited resources and a limited inventory but not as much as re1-3. That is what a "Survival horror" is. They lost that from RE4 and onwards.

There is no horror in Resident Evil. They say it's horror because zombies are in the category of scary. It's all about survival. Survival portrays on the action. In my opinion, the game is great. Back then, the old RE's were acceptable but now things are evolving and times change. Deal with it or don't buy it. It is that simple. Old fanboys will lose hours of fun, oh well.
how is re4 not a true resident evil game? in my opinion ferlinstincts I think the leon segments of this game will be more survival horror as shown in the trailer and the chris parts will be more action based. Also i like the fact that enemies appear to be more overwhelming in this game than in older resident evils

i totally agree. ur right the beginning with leon was great. looks like the return of the T & possibly G virus. looks like leons part is the survival portion. Chris is the action portion of the game & this new character is possibly the HACK AND SLASH of the game. capcom, bring it back to the human characters being human instead of the super human strength they introduced in 4. i want the feeling i used to get of being afraid of whats in the next corner. where the eerie feeling the 1st 3 gave me
From one huge fan to another, I tend to agree, the original 3 RE's on the PS1 are my favourites, RE4 was good the first time through, but RE5 was straight up action with alot of quick-time events in cutscenes. 6 looks to be more of the same, but we'll see, I did like some things I saw, like you said, the beginning looked promising, I hope Capcom don't screw up...

You may indeed need to run from enemies because it looks like far too many on screen at once at times. My final note is trailers like this tend to smash a lot of action sequences together but they are obviously spread out in the game. Not that you're saying this but I'm just tired of arguing with people about how you don't need shitty tank controls and a fixed camera to be a survival horror game, especially a game that NO ONE HAS PLAYED YET.
Ok I have to disagree with you here. The game looks like each character you play will have a different form of gameplay of sorts. Leon/that woman look like it will be survival horror. Chris is part of the BSAA, of course he's going to have an arsenal. We don't know if the game will have scarce ammo supplies or will every enemy drop bullets again? We don't know, but if they take it from dead space it will indeed be survival horror. continued....

And I'd just like to throw out there that dead space one was scarier than ds2 because we already knew our enemies by the second game. RE reinvented itself with 4. 4 and 5 weren't scary because you always had the bullets to kill everything. As long as every enemy doesn't drop bullets I'll be ok with this game.

I think you're right, you ARE being harsh and premature about this game. It has half a year to be released and you're judging that nobody will be scared at it and it looks disappointing. Seriously give it time, I mainly think people are like that because everyone was so harsh about Resident Evil 5. It reminds me of Modern Warfare, the 3rd one isn't THAT bad but it's brought down by people who moan about it constantly... because everyone else is.

Thank you someone else that agrees with me. I was disappointed when I saw because it looked all action. Everyone else is caught up in the hype now. I miss old school resident evil :( btw when i heard coop is returning my hopes dashed away

@ferelinstincts: I agree completely though, as soon as I saw Chris all those mediocre memories of RE5 started to fill my sad brain :(.
While watching the trailer, I was reminded of the time when the original RE2 got scrapped nearly halfway through development. I would not be surprised if the same happened here.
