Probably cause of the strict laws china has about going out. Also, they are making there debuts UFC and K1 and those japanese ones are for the people towards the top. They have eliminated the bad ones. This lets everyone try.

They are a lot more open than before, but you need to know some good people to get you in and out of china fast and easily.

Also, yes, it seems like UFC and K1 have fighters who are famous, popular, skilled, and tournament winners. Especially UFC. They do put on more of a hype than fight though.
