The reason you are getting a low FPS on some games is due to the SRS being switched on in settings. It's a bug HTC hope to fix in a software update. Turn SRS off and the game runs smooth as butter :)

I was particularly impressed with the titan. I only bought it because I am "boycotting" apple and hate the android ui, but it turned out to be a great phone. The lower resolution, like he said, does not really matter unless you are really trying really hard to find the pixels, so the videos look great on the big screen.

this 1.5ghz single core for wp7 mango is more than enough... which is way better compared to android where 1.5ghz dual core is barely not enough to achieve the buttery smooth ui transition found on mango. mango is super consistent too and your android never can offer that

Why is WP faster than Android? Because Android has MANY built-in applications. WP is just OS for web-browsing, music, games, videos ("teenage-based OS"). And one more thing: iOS is shit :) Apple sets huge price for iPhone, why? iOS doesn't support much applications without JB, it's shit.

So Microsoft is making videochat the standard in Microsoft products. Microsoft just relased a Wp7 app that turns your Wp7 into a XBOX remote responce is quick as any controller. So Video-Chat, Games, Zune Movies, Music subscriptions sync & share between all these MS products.

Yes, Android is laggy on low power devices. Most of the stock lag gets fixed through custom tweaks and ROMs and such. However, Windows Phone 7 is indeed really really smooth, there's lots of eye-candy in there compared to stock Android devices.

Even so though, Windows really suffers from lack of apps and closure. Android is just so much more easier to customize and develop on... (I know, because I'm a part-time developer...)

True for now about Wp7 lacks "apps" Don't forget Microsoft is just opening their own App developement team and store. XBOX had a slow start 10 yrs ago and now is a leading console. I think Microsoft will do their best to provide what consumers want in todays day and age on mobile smartphones. Flash is being phased out by Adobe and will be irrelevant in a short period of time. WP7 supports full HTML5 which is the new standard. My HD7S has performed exceptionally since June and I couldn't be happier. I do NOT miss spending hours tweaking my OS to make it work like my old HD2 Android. Like a previous poster said, out of pocket, get information, back in pocket. iOS and Android require WAY too much time which is why it's refreshing. Overall it's a top notch OS without question.

You have to understand, with your web test, Opera is amazing. Period. Internet Explorer is in a whole different field. Opera is faster than Chrome and Firefox and those are both superior to IE. This should be mentioned in your review.

This is the first time I've thumbs downed a pocketnow video. The browser compairison I thought was aweful. Opera is fast at rendering but is laggy and studders with zooming. Stock SGS2 browser is much better overall and WAY more smooth. You can't compair zooming smoothness on a broswer that doesn't actually come with the phone!

I think you should have used the stock browser or something like Dolphin to see the real difference in browsing performance between the devices. Opera Mini has its own servers transferring compressed data onto the GS2 for quick browsing. It is way faster in many cases on my Galaxy S, especially with graphic-heavy websites.

that camera delay doesnt happen on my titan, perhaps its because you had lots of applications open in the backround or that the button on yours is faulty. im enjoying the device so much right now, the one thing i love about it is that you can quickly unlock it, find what you want and then put it back in your pocket. on my old htc android phone it would takes ages to do things and nything i wanted to find out would be buried within menus or would need to be slowly refreshed

I wouldn't recommend using Opera on the GSII to run tests. The stock browser on the GSII is faster than any aftermarket browser because it's hardware accelerated.
