Tuaregs call themselves "Kel tamajek" (tamajek speakers) Tamajek is the berber language, in north africa (morocco, algeria) we speak Tamazeght. Tuaregs are berbers who became nomadic in the sahara. The Tuareg once took black captives from songhai (mali, niger), either for trade and sale, or for domestic labor purposes.

Berber is not their name. they're called Amazigh in Libya and Touareg in morroco. My best friend is from the Amazigh...Really nice ppl !
