As a student his mind was undisciplined and according to his college tutorial record "will probably never be very original." The book Why England Slept attributed to JFK was written by Blair Clark and Arthur Krock. Harold Laski said of it "it is very immature, it has no structure, and dwells almost entirely on the surface of things."

Arthur Krock thought it was good raw material for publication, but that book was Kennedy's good or bad.

Most historians do not consider the Reeves or Hersh books to be objective. Seymour Hersh's informants are basically CIA & FBI guys. CIA guys did a lot of things behind Kennedy's back and then after JFK & Bobby died tried to blame it on them. Much criticism has been leveled at Hersh for not double checking sources, etc.

There is no candidate today that represents what John and Bobby did then. They truely crossed boundaries and demographics, not just here but all over the world. To grasp what they meant and what they could have been, is too large a task. They now represent standards, beacons of hope of things that can be, and to aspire to be...but never exactly to be.
