I got hip to Prodigy in 1993, 2 months before they dropped the totally "unlimited" access. You were charged an hourly fee to use their BBs (forums) after that. BOO! But their web browser was the first I used!
Right on with the Wrigley's jingle. Way to cash in in the event of tragedy! (see: 9/11)
The other day I was in Walmart and seen a 5 dollar DVD of 200 "classic" commercials I believe it was. I told my friend "Why would I want that when we can watch commercialvault dude on Youtube?" Thanks for these uploads.
"Free Spirit" was a short-lived sitcom. It featured a young, pretty and somewhat quirky blonde who also happened to be a witch. She somehow became the nanny to the kids of an uptight widower/divorcee (can't remember which). When she used her whichcraft, hijinks ensued & there was also the flirty undercurrent between her & the dad. Love this post & all the others, keep 'em coming!
Watching these various sets of commercials always takes me back to a wonderful time when tv/entertainment were amazing. There was always something worth watching. I think it's safe to say that commercials were taken for granted back then as I'd rather watch these on youtube rather than turn on my hdtv now.
Oh man this was such a trip for me.. Real Ghostbusters, Wendy's commercial with Dave Thomas... and Toys R Us! I remember the first time I walked into a Toys R Us in 1994 after moving from a small town to the city, seriously I thought life couldn't get any better...
"I petition for this jingle to become the National Anthem in the event of a zombie apocalypse or other large-scale disaster." Or petition Wrigleys to make a new commercial based on the one in this volume. Because, I agree, that jingle is one of the best I have ever heard.
Loved all those old TV shows! That's when TV was worth watching!! The Toys R Us ads bring back fond memories of my childhood! Just this past Thursday they aired It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown on ABC. Wish it was on CBS thou, remember the old CBS Special Presentation Clip they ran before every holiday cartoon special! The one with the bongo drums!!! As a child back in the late 70's early 80's, when ever you heard that you know something great was gonna come on!!
Slimer & the Real Ghost Busters Halloween special NEXT! Love it when cartoons back in the day did special Halloween & Christmas episodes. Don't think they do that anymore. Loved the RGB growing up- along with GIJOE and Transfomers, it formed my holy trinity of cartoon awesomeness.

McDonald's has to put "pork" on the McRib containrs so people will know what they're eating

Those Bounty ads are really good.
Anything But Love is one of those shows which garnered acclaim at the time but seems to have been forgotten soon after it went off the air.
Were they playing a real video game in the Toys R Us ad?
I miss Dave Thomas.

I used to have a least half dozen prodigy demo accounts. Between that and BBSes I was burning up my 2400bps modem. :)

I had a Prodigy account. I still remember my account number after all these years. I left it when AOL came onboard and was easier and quicker to use.
Bounty wasn't always paper towels. I'd almost forgotten that.

Does anyone know what ever happened to prodigy?
PatrioticFront 4 months ago
@PatrioticFront merged with mindspring and earthlink, which was in turn bought by AT&T. Dialup ended up being dropped after that.
