Couldn't eat even the mildest of peppers that way. I think peppers are too potent to be eaten that way. I use peppers like a flavoring agent much in the same way I use celery. I used to watch it on the Food Network all the time.
I remember seeing this episode about 7 years ago on Food Network and it is one of the best battles in my opinion.
Rütter's dishes looked amazing...especially the filet mignon with the bell pepper sauce. You could tell he poured his soul into his food and was brought to tears when he won.

They are BELL peppers and not hot peppers. Red, green and yellow BELL peppers are actually sweet and maybe used raw in salads.
Banana peppers or Jalapeno peppers on the other hand, to just eat them would be asking for it.
