  • heyy.great.Japanese greeting..!Good job!

  • Thx Tarentino !!!

  • Banzai!

  • Bloody Hell! Well done! Just like in "Beloved Invaders"! Awesome!

  • Magnifico!

  • @serz1971 Giv mi mani :D

  • Wow, Nokie looks a little different,,,,,,,,

Seriously, well done on the quality of the musicianship, the overall look and fashion of the band and the stage set up, as per some of the Ventures setups. Great to see their music still celebrated by such talented musicians.

  • good sound guys.

  • 完全にベンチャー図ですね。違うところといえば肌の色ぐらいです。白黒ですが(笑)

  • 感動しました。撮影技術にも。

  • Arigato!

  • jaja unos genios los ponjas!

  • you know this is a good cut of this song

  • AEWSOME what a GREAT tribute to the VENTURES Two BIG thumbs up for their fantastic TONE !

  • equitable positioning on the stage

  • Someone commented on these guys having "too much distortion". For those of you who know everything but enjoy Wiki anyway google Howard Alexander Dumble. I somehow doubt these guys has access to Mr. Dumble's genius at making Fender amps perform better than one ever imagined. This was a live performance with what looked like either Bandmaster heads or Concert, maybe even Showman Heads and 1x15 cabs. The blonde vinyl places them in the early 60s. Dumble started by modding amps for the Ventures.

  • @Satchmoeddie they're Bandmasters - same as The Ventures used. The fuzz or distortion was mostly created with fuzz boxes which Nokie used from time to time.

  • sono uguali!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bravissmi!!!

  • Very cool tribute.

  • Surfs from Cali moron

  • nice!

  • the surf guitar subculture is but one of many reasons I want to visit Japan

  • lol

    Very similar!!!

    5*****

  • good grief...these guys have a great sound. no, it's not a mirror image of The Ventures. It's a tribute!! the Japanese love and respect surf and it shows.

  • sono bravi

  • the M probably stands for whatever city or region they are from. The are scores, maybe hundreds of these Ventures tribute bands around Japan!

  • thank you! this comment was from over a year ago even though it says one month ago...it was explained to me that the "M" means metro ... hence, Metro ventures, so your comment is accurate.

i will delete my previous, so I won't have to defend my self on this anymore.

  • @stupullen Someone needs to look at the date of this recording. This was the early 60s. The Ventures still have a fierce Japanese following, and by now who knows how many Ventures cover bands there are. I wonder how hard it was to get 100 volt Export Fenders in 1962? That 100 volt Japanese electrical system may be fed into a 117 volt amp. I do know Export Fender amps lack the 117/120 volt taps, but when Leo or if he ever offered a 100 volt version I am not sure. Would lend to the sound though.

  • @Satchmoeddie Actually this is a Japanese tribute band making obvious (and purposeful) reference to a legendary Ventures tour through Japan in 1965: "Live in Japan '65". This was most likely recorded in the 2000s.

  • Good version!

  • you tryin sound so smart on youtube

  • Nah, It doesn't. It doesn't have to be like an original. But this is jsut way to stiff. There's no flow. And it's surf for christ sake!

  • Nasty.

  • You just dont get it do you

Its sposed to sound like that

    Japanese inscrutability rocks

  • 2 bad they look so emotionless...why so serious:P

  • it has too much gain/distortion... :(

not 100% surfer music, there's no reverb or hall or something

  • Before imitators tried to make a whole genre out of a couple songs like this, there was no surf. only music without all the little labels and rules industry execs feed to magazines to manipulate pop opinion

  • Nice, but please kill the distortion, add more REVERB.

  • i like it like this , if you want to hear (authentic) then listen to the original... x

you have good taste , though.. take care pal

  • good

  • Excellent

  • This sound reminds me of the Vinyl 45s that I got from my brothers of this era. The EDGY solid body, Tube Amp sound of the 50s and 60s was so COOL.

    I like it!

  • Guitar tone is fucked up. What that shitty and crappy drive noise.

  • Do you like riding a Japanese car or an American

    Car?

  • 忠実に65年の音 映像 再現してますね。

    これからも活躍期待してます。ホントに素晴らしい。

  • wow, most languages I can fiddle out a bit by myself but this is great! Totally no clue! ;) What is this? Simplified Chinese? Is 't hard to learn? Love the music btw ;)

  • aguanten los pongas una masaaa great great saludos de tandil

  • Coolest XD

  • COOL

    japannese Venteres

  • They sure got the right look going

  • The fidelity of this song through head phones is incredible!!! Nice job M Ventures!!

  • silencio stop trying to attac your own meaning t everything

  • Do you have any idea how much effort went into making this video? From the vintage Mosrites, Fender amps, B&W film and not to mention the skill required just to play it.

So, where's your music uploads? Can't play an instrument? So, who's looking ignorant now? lmao..

  • Excellent cover!!

  • Very good

  • 絶頂期の頃のヴェンチャーズ思い出しました。

  • well done

  • buena version con onda y diferente , por lo menos en los tiempos !

  • This is played WAY too fast! Totally blows the vibe for this great ol' tune. Slow it down about 40 bpm through the body of the song and you've got it.

  • THATS TRUE! Thats not it :<

  • mmm, nahh

    it's ok

  • It's played about the same tempo as the original Ventures song. The Lively Ones slowed it down abit.

  • That's a good thing. It means they made it their own.

  • omg love this song!!

    this version sounds cool too!

  • Esta cancion fue el tema final en la pelicula SANTO EL EMASCARADO DE PLATA (atlantis) que grato recuerdo cinco estrellas no diez es lo que vale .

  • ajá, gracias por la información :)

  • great version!

  • this is the damn best surf rider cover there is.

  • They're not bad, but like alot of japanese musicians paying tribute to groups I find they lack the initial passion.

  • Mosrite? The Venture trademark guitar - note the "M" cut into the headstock. My guitar teacher from Holland, NY had one. The Mosrite had a super thin neck and low action. These guys are all playing Mosrites.

  • what does this mean the M ventures?

  • i can play this on my ukulele

  • Id love to hear it---could you p[ost yourself playing ?

  • yeah sure. not for about a week because its getting repaired

  • hi this is my other account. itss me playing surf rider on ukulele

  • "We should get out of here"

"yeah that's probably a good idea"

originally be the Lively Ones I think

  • Originally by the Ventures, remade by the Lively Ones.

  • I see what you did there.

    hb151

  • this is the shit, great guitar!

  • aferim bunlara cok guzel olmus la kım yapıyo unu :DD

  • has someone the version of dick dale

  • Love you guys, but smile and enjoy your playing and each other and the audience. Great work!

  • K-Mart. LOve your name by the way...

  • Groovie!

  • KEWL!

  • If they're creating the 1965 invasion then the drummer needs to switch his playing style from match gripped to cross gripped just the way Mel played the drums.

  • Plus points for pop1983. If this were an image board, I would put a "YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG" label to the drummer emulating Mel.

    hb151

  • well the japs had very good recording technoligie for that time. they played realy good too!!

  • This was made in the last few years. They're just meticulously re-creating the look of the 1965 Beloved Invaders concert. As far as I can tell, that concert was the Japanese equivelent of the Beatles at Shea Stadium.

  • Love these jap guys!!!!

  • Great! The lighting, camera angles. A lot of planning went into this.

  • Henorme video este es un gran descubrimiento para mis oidos gracias. Thanks for this great present.

  • cover bands suck,no talent. Get something original going!

  • It's a tribute band - get over yourself - or post your earth-shaking originals on YouTube so we can judge for ourselves.

  • muy bien todos menos el batero

very good all... exept the drummer

  • they're spot on!. The guys are great. They rock it!

  • the rhythm is a bit too fast to get the original feel of the song. Great work though!

  • too much fuzz

  • yeah, and not enough reverb

  • Just like the Ventures CD Live in Japan 1965..They had NOOO Reverb, they were using the Fender Showman Amps

  • Squint your eyes and they almost look like the real mid 60's Ventures. A really great job recreating the classic sound.

  • nice Mosrites !
