As I have stated elsewhere, Jim Jones taught a socialist left hand path philosophy, and I've actually seen a People's Temple video recording in which he stated that he was God and his intent was to convince his adherents that they were also God. This did not prevent him from maintaining complete control even unto death, of his followers' lives.
Bystander: "Is it purely coincidental that by way of believing your teaching that we would be less likely to concern ourselves with our well-being and happiness on earth, thereby allowing the greedy, misanthropic, psychotic, genocidal, inbred garbage who are in positions of "power", one of whom I just so happened to see slipping you an envelope, to continue to hoard all things unto themselves?"
...just happens to include those who believe this bullsh...uh...truth come together, we can recreate the True God!" Innocent bystander: "How do you know that?" Gnostic teacher: "I just told you. We who believe are imbued with the divine essence." Bystander: "So you're saying that you and others who believe as you do are God, and the reason that you should be believed when you say this, and give your totally unprovable explanation is that you, claiming to be God, said it?"
No one ever seems to question the claims of the gnostics, and yet, they will mock the tautology of Christians, in spite of the fact that gnosticism is exactly as tautological in its verification of its claims- Gnostic teacher: "That's right, boys and girls. You and most other people are actually the product, along with the rest of the universe, though we'll leave that out (don't ask why) of the True God committing suicide! As a result, if all of us who contain the divine essence, which...
This is an interesting way of describing the awakening process. Ultimately, the awakening of consciousness can happen through intriguing parables that point to the awakening within. What a dance of consciousness this is. The awakening happens through the enlighted stories, pictures and images. Consciousness has projected out human life stories that portray awakening.
@avedic It seems to me that far too few people are able to detect bullshit. Look up Zarathustrianism or Zoroastrianism. The gnostics took the general plot line and molded it to suit their purpose of villifying the God of the Jews. They even attributed the same appearance (that of a lion serpent) to the Creator as the Zarathustrians applied to the Ahriman character.
@avedic Well, due to the fact that the Creator God is and was literally believed in by Jews, Christians, and Muslims, it cannot be claimed that this nonsense of gnosticism was originally stated as allegory. They originally made these claims as though they were stating that there actually were anthropomorphic beings called Yaldabaoth, Primal Adam, "the great architect Mithra", etc.
Another interesting fact: Laya, homophone for Leia, is a Hindu term and form of yoga with the term meaning dissolution or merging of the mind. Also, the "Jedi" headquarters was called the Jedi Temple. Exactly who or what was being worshipped in this temple?
Oh my gosh. This is something that everyone should watch. Everyone does not have to believe it, but I feel like people would be able to fully decide for themselves what they believe in once they are exposed to this idea as well.

Furthermore, there are some gnostic teachings according to which the entire universe is "god". This would mean not only that god is every evil imaginable, along with the lowliest of amoral things, but that the Demiurge whom gnostics often chide as a false god would also be god. In reality, though they immediately shift the scope of their teaching and claim that mankind is, collectively, god, which evinces the fact that the teaching is but one of the many Luciferian apotheosis doctrines.
There are actually two different methods by which the authors of the gospels address the issue of the paying of Roman taxes, with the book of Matthew, in chapter seventeen, spinning a yarn about catching a fish with the coin in its mouth, meaning that "Jesus" would not be paying the tax from his own personal money, and Mark chapter twelve having "Jesus" evasively resort to equating the fact that an inscription is pressed into a piece of metal with rightful ownership thereof.
The Jesus story is an allegory of a journey by which one can realize the christ within. The Jesus story is also an astrological allegory depicting celestial events. "As abvoe, so below" as the pagans woud say.
Now...just a random thought here that I wanted to share. The fact that the Jesus story describes an internal realization and celestial events simultaneously leads me to believe that the story is an ancient description of the "Holographic Theory" described by Quantum Mechanics.
@ericbs5247 The Jesus story is about getting uneducated Jews and Gentiles to adopt an attitude of acquiescence to Roman authority, and to vilify the Jewish authorities in the process, and using psychic energy manipulation for its "miracles" which served as confirmation of its validity. The fact that "Jesus" just happens to address the major points of contention amongst the second temple Jewish sects by answering in an evasive and pro-Roman way makes this perfectly clear.
Consider also how senseless it would be for someone respond as Palpatine did in "Revenge of the Sith" to having his attack deflected back upon himself by the Mace Windu character. Would one realizing that a force which he was actively manifesting by his own will was actually grievously harming him continue to manifest such a force? This seems a clear indication, in its convolution, that the "Emperor"'s transformation is of an altogether different origin than is portrayed in the movie.
Both words, da'ath and veda have the meaning knowledge or to know, with the dark da'ath carrying its own significance. This, in all likelihood, being employed by the creators of the character in order to further develop the significance of the nonexistent dualistic paradigm in the events portrayed.
Consider the fact that the "Emperor" character within the Star Wars story line is the one who decentralizes the galaxy. There are many elements whhich are falsified as I have mentioned before, but consider what this means as to who truly seeks complete control and "unlimited power" within the story line. It is even mentioned in the "Revenge of the Sith" movie that were Palpatine to have been deposed as Chancellor, the Jedi council would have taken control of the senate.
The aforementioned information should serve to "enlighten" you tremendously as to, for example, the truth about the Star Wars mythos, and its categorization of the "light" and "dark side" of "the Force" being absolute propagandistic deception. Mischaracterizing persons and possibly even God, by attributing absolutely false points of view and traits thereto, simply by applying the completely nonexistent paradigm of duality and getting away with it by way of allegorizing the story.
Before any of you go jumping on the gnostic bandwagon, consider what I have explained regarding the origination of gnosticism in Zarathustrianism, consider that Albert Pike, the only confederate general to actually be charged with war crimes for the severity of his atrocities, along with being co-founder of the KKK, was a Zarathustrian, and remained head of North American Freemasonry until his death.
f anybody thinks this guy is spouting BS, take a look at Joe Campbell's idea of the "monomyth" or Aldous Huxley's "Perennial Philosophy"...ask any mystic that's had The Experience! You can see allegorical parodies everywhere, from Pilgrim's Progress to Plato' Cave & the Divided Line...from Jacob's Ladder to Dante's Inferno. Then call it Satori in Zen...they call it Illumination in secret societies.
The essence of YOU and the essence of the UNIVERSE are the same
@jksville Your reality tunnel might have a huge (cultural) filter that clouds your view...his view isn't very different from Kabbalists and many Orthodox...the Gnostics agree with him. too! Then there are those who are fed the exoteric milk of babies - those who aren't strong enough wont eat the meat...for them it's easier to make God a "sky daddy" & jesus is a person & heaven is a real place & snakes talk & bushes burn & virgins give birth & the child sacrifice in John 3:16 means everything!
@jksv YES! He explains how the Jesus story is an amalgamation of many myths - from Joshua to Mithras to Osiris & Zarathustra. He even notes how the archetype is more of an outward example versus The Buddha (an inward example). So I guess it all comes down to your reality tunnel - how you process the information contained in the myths themselves. Has your cultural impressions imposed their will on you OR can you still see through the fog of biases? Can you see? Good chat! Tat Tvam Asi...
@TruthJockey Good to remember that it isn't what a man can convince you to believe but what God chooses to reveal to you, in your own path, that is where it gets personal and stands alone in the landscape of religions. I am convinced that Christ is God incarnate, like no other before him or after. Simply lumping His story in with other messianic mythologies is a bit reckless. The only thing we know about Christ is what is written, and if you discredit that, then what can we give credit to?
@jksville Well, until you have EXPERIENCE...you'll merely be hedging bets! But one day, maybe, you'll see the value of experience. Living here in the bible belt, I'm amazed at you many claim to be "born again" - yet Fear & Desire, Hell & Heaven, play a crucial role in their mind-forged manacles. As a mystic, I know...as Carl Jung knew...as Meister Eckhart knew...as Pythagoras, Plotinus, Joe Campbell, & Nietzsche knew. Having seen the light...I beg you to look allegorically at Jesus' message!
@jksville If you know the other messianic motifs existed long before...why the mental gymnastics, see it for what it is...an allegory used 2000 years ago! If it makes you feel warm & fuzzy by personifying a mythic figure, go right ahead. But realize what you're doing - you have the right to inspect what culture sold you as "truth" - if you can take in information without preconceived notions dictating your movements. Enough of this...I hope you find what you want in life...satcitananda.
@jksville Are we having a dialog? I don't understand how your response relates to mine. Anyways, I'm not trying to convince you of anything or help you . Should I take your persuasion as my unique path? It would not have a divine origin, it would not belong to me, it would be completely cerebral.

...to derive its authority and correctness from those closest to the central character within the theology would be readily accepted by the confused, overwrought masses.
By "early gnostic Christians", I ,of course, mean the leadership: Those professing such ideas. As is probably known by most nowadays as a result of the saturation of all media with this historical reality, there were originally many forms of Christianity. This democracy in faith, and the uncertainty resulting therefrom as to the authenticity of one's own held view, made it , deliberately, I believe, inescapable that an official, authoritative version of Christianity, professing...
Understand the possibility that, far from having been successfully "suppressed by the Christian orthodoxy", the early gnostic Christians became the Christian orthodoxy once this ploy proved successful in bestowing upon them an oligarchical position of authority over the masses.
Let's take the idea of democracy as a governmental system, and the fact that it is and has been widely known, by the founders of the United States, for example, to be merely a ploy used to transition from the existing system into an oligarchy. Now, let's apply this idea to theological systems and realize that gnosticism, with its democratic notion of "divine authority", exists for the same purpose.
edit: In fact, given that it will not be seriously considered as a possibility by the deceivers, but could possibly benefit the honest, I will relate the fact that such deceivers are tormented in the hereafter.
I want to make it clear that I don't believe that there is any relevance whatsoever in the distinctions between the specific exoteric mythologies of the mystery schools. Each succeeding incarnation exists for the same wicked purpose as its predecessor.
Gnostocism started in the biblical days these devilish fools couldn't deny the power of Jesus so that had to include it in their gospel. Apostles were arguing with gnosticism back then. Deny and ill gladly post the scriptures to prove it. There is 1 jesus and that's that. Gnosticsm having knowledge or whatever they wish to call themselves is nothing more than a false religion. God is your vindicator. You cannot judge yourself. JESUS CHRIST ALL DAY EVERY DAY.
However much I'm annoyed by Freke calling himself "gnostic" while instead promoting paranoid cultism, much more irritating is the idiotic english "pronunciation" nastysism instead of "g-nosticism". Can't you english ever learn to pronounce correctly?
Have been looking at a few vids about Constantine and the corruption of Christianity and came across this refreshingly sane interview of Tim Freke who, with his co.author, Gandy, researched and wrote two excellent books on the origins of this cult. What an enlightened world it would be if all those enslaved in ossified dogma could open their minds to this transformational gnosis. Things are changing - and this guy has certainly played is part in helping bring change about.
@zthetha You do understand that gnosticism is purely and simply a mystery cult with an exoteric mythology which borrows its designated evil deity from Zarathustrianism, an earlier mystery cult espousing the dualistic concept of both a good and an evil god, and claims that this evil deity is the God of the Jerusalem temple cult, this in spite of the fact that Cyrus, a Zarathustrian, specifically allowed the Jews to return from captivity to build a temple dedicated to the worship of this Being?
@Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 Hi - thanks for your interesting reply. Are we talking about Jahweh, that good old, Old Testament psychopathic deity? All gods are projections of man's internal conflicts, are they not? Jung's 'Problem Of Job' deals with this particular curiosity fairly well. I don't know if you are familiar with Tsarion's research into the 'Jews' which, rightly or wrongly, exposes the real story of Zionism and Akhenaton . Freud published a book asserting this Pharaoh was actually Moses Hmm..
@Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 No, gnosticism is unrelated to Zarathustrianism. It takes anyones creator deity and turns it into evil. Not a good strategy to make friends, but it is a good strategy to leave this world ASAP.
@siderespector In fact, that is exactly what Zarathustra did. He made the claim that all gods which were worshipped in his or any other part of the world were false, and, in fact, evil, destructive forces, and that Ohrmazd/Ohrmuzd (collective mankind) is the only true god. Not only is this the case, but it is quite easy to ascertain his, and, by extension, the gnostics' reason for doing so, which is to provide themselves with a body of lyal adherents who will afford them luxury and authority...
@siderespector correction "lyal" loyal. ...in their mortal lives, on the basis of deception as to the eternal benefits of adherence. This in no way supercedes nor contradicts the existence of the actual God, as is seemingly widely or universally believed by the adepts of such systems. In fact, given that it will be simply will not be considered as a possibility by the deceivers, but could possibly benefit the honest, I will relate the fact that such deceivers are tormented in the hereafter.
"And unto the Jews I became as a Jew (the Book of Revelation), that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21To them that are without law ("the Concept of Our Great Power" Nag Hammadi), as without law"-1Corinthians 9:20-22
Yes, this approach is mentioned in an epistle of Paul from the New Testament, but it was obviously widely applied among early Christians.
This was a an awesome interview! I've had the experiences he's talking about. It is maddeningly easy to get lost in the day to day story and lose track of the mystery. I'm currently on the journey back. This was a great help in my return.
Personally, I think it's also too easy to get caught up in the Jesus historical vs. mythical debate. Really, that's completely unimportant in the face of Jesus' message and following it to one's own gnossis.
@leveille1 I will like to share this revelation with you. First I will quote a line from the Holy Scriptures " It is appointed unto man ONCE to die,and after that JUDGEMENT" If you believe that then I will answer your question. I will give you the revelation after your response.
The gospels have more Gnostic information than do so called books on Gnosticism. Use logic, you will find Jesus was not crucified, Matthew 16:20-21, he said don't tell. Simon of Cyrene was crucified. He was made to be a look alike, that validates the Qur'an. Jesus said Matthew 24:23, he was not the coming of the son of man. I am, the reborn apostle Peter.
@vdmerwe well said!!!! freke by name, freak by nature!!! GNosticism is same as freemasonry which both espouse Luciferianism...the idea that God (yahweh) was bad and satan/lucifer is actually 'good'! wtf
I can't see that he proves that Jesus is a myth.. I think that it is probable that Jesus was a real person. Writers of the Gospels simply added mythic elements to their accounts to emphasis Christ's divinity or highly spiritually-realized nature.
The fact that other tradtions have god-men does not invalidate the belief that Jesus was a real man.
Amazing is the similarity of various teachings (neoplatonism, Christion gnosticism, Sant Mat, Kabir's teachings). This is implies a reality.
@vancor2000 "bewared of those who call good evil and evil good"....gnostics are actually satanists..no joke...i've realised this from intense research....Rosicrucians are gnostic practitioners who have 'spirit familiars' which tell them all this garbage ...blah blah...jesus isnt real, he was just a man..blah blah...bible makes clear 'spirit familiars' are actually demons....
@vincent4500 i meant the many parallels the bible has with greek mythology 1 example is that they have exactly the same concept of heaven &the fires of hell where sinners go 4 eterinity tartarus is even mentioned in the NT in 2peter. u shouldnt take religion so seriously if u had any knowledge of psychology u would know there is no such thing as evil u dont need to b gnostic 2 understand that u just need 2 b educated christianity islam & judaism r all 4 uneducated people. bible is corrupt 2
@micap20078 lol....that concept of 'hell' is an introduction by the evil satanic Roman Church....the roman church is CLEARLY SHOWN IN DANIEL 7 AS of the antichrist...many antichrists will come...but the roman church is behind the 'beast system' of the fallen world...
@vincent4500 like I said, relax, find a girlfriend and get laid man, and stop smoking whatever you are smoking now. Let other people's belief systems alone, the gnostics have done no harm to you. live and let live in peace and love. And if you are so obsessed by your God of evil Satan and want to comment on a REAL satanist video check this girl out ( VenusSatanas ), maybe you can even date her after you "safe" her soul?? LOL.
man, you are a luciferian and you don't even know it, i hope and pray you develop more discernment and a love of the truth....not of what suits your ego....ciao
Excellent. I love his analogy of waking up from the dream of life and realizing the universal mind in the same way that one would become lucid in a dream and realize that we're not who we think we are, we're actually the authors of our own creation.
I would also agree with him when he says that when we talk about spirituality there's a lot of bullshit to wade through and we have to focus on what's real.
@vincent4500 luciferian? Man, are you on drugs?. Look, I am not going to argue with an ignorant fundamentalist who knows nothing about ancient history and religious symbols. Go ahead and believe whatever you want to believe.
@gaiusartemini wow! a gnostic with spirit familiars who follows in the vein of Aleister Crowley, who introduced acid etc to a whole generation calls me on 'drugs'! ha ha..I am not an ignorant fundamentalist, I was aetheist until recently when I got pulled into your gnostic/New Age garbage...as I worked out our reality is much more than i thought...increasing research leaving aside ALL bias took me away from that to God...it wasnt easy, remotely...but the truth is the truth...Mr Witch!
@vincent4500 ".I am not an ignorant fundamentalist, I was aetheist until recently when I got pulled into your gnostic/New Age garbage..." the fact of not believing in any form of deity doesn't make you knowledgeable about ancient religious symbols and classical mystery schools and cults. so your statement is irrelevant. And better you don't talk about things you don't understand, like i said you are just an ignorant fundamentalist.
This is a late reply but I felt compelled to say something.
As someone who claims to believe in God, the fact that you so readily discard this as "new-age garbage" "Luciferian" and etc. is puzzling to me. If anything, doesn't the idea of "living in God's dream" make the notion of God that much more interesting, intuitive, understandable, and, dare I say it, believable? It seems to me that you're rejecting an idea which actually reinforces a thestic perspective.
@micap20078 Roman CHurch which has corrupted most churches is satanic..and pagan...but that is evident in Daniel 7...it clearly identifies roman church as core of antichrist...
don't we all experience these moments of wholeness+oneness? sometimes in a split second, sometimes it lasts longer. Does that mean we are enlightened when/if we experience this? I think that's so arrogant. The world is in the meantime full of these (sorry to say) white guys who claim that they are enlightened/awaken/self-realized, whatever. You never hear buddhist teachers talk about being enlightened EVER! sheezzzzz
Well said! I would add that people pay so much lip service to learning truth yet continue to propagate the same attitudes as other religions, particularly focusing on the irrelevant. Was Christ a historical figure? Was he literally born of a virgin? Is Christianity actually a pagan religion? None of them say, "All of these questions and their answers are ultimately irrelevant". Saying "Jesus is a myth" is just as much a dogmatic statement as "Jesus is the Messiah" and even if either is true...?
@shanna1950 read his book "how long is now" and you might change your mind about what u think about him and how you think about life. I know it changed mine.
As soon as one claims that their way or religion is the right way...and there is no other path...they separate themselves from the rest of humanity. Both Christianity and Islam are trying to make the world better for "their" God. This is insane as God is transcendent and beyond our knowledge. God isn't something you can prove through logical arguments. Finally, God is simply a word for the mysterious life force in everything.
this is very interensting...but he doesn´t really answer the hard question: why are gospels written in real histrorical context, with real figures and all?
i´m not begging for anyone to hand answers, espesially im not begging any comments from any imbecil cocksucking lazyass buttworm such as you. still most of the scholars think that it is more likely, that there really was some real person behind the myth. there really just is not enough evidence for either posistion, so the question is open.
I didn't say begging, that was your choice of words, and nowhere in the title does it say he is going to answer anything. the only imbecil cocksucking lazyass buttworm is yourself.there is evidence for both positions, you're just too lazy to do your own research and make up your own mind
some people easily misunderstand tim.. but with an open mind i've found it most enjoyable and a very enlighting answer to the spaghetti web that is modern christianity.
Revelation 22: "And the Spirit and the Bride saith...", which mean's the Bride is the Physical body, the Spirit the Joy of that Physical body. Freke don't talk shit, he can see through shit!
People who don't want to see the truth, or agree with this, are people who feel the most alone, or are afraid of being 1 all by themselves the most. Those who accept, "hey, I'm always going to be alone, at least on Earth I have some company" they are the ones who will get the most out of life, not those who expect something greater after death!
OK, his point is lighten up, be happy, and feel love. Thats it?? After all that BS?
His philosophy, if you can call it that, still has nothing to do with the problems of the temporal world. You stillneed to pay your electric bill at the end of the day. Am I just supposed to space out, get giddy on love, and laugh when the bills are due?? This guy makes serious money telling people that at conferences??
As opposed to nothing... I make no claims of enlightenment and if my comments are ego-based and predictable, then they are ego-based and predictable... I wonder against what standard though?
Wake yourself up is me aping Freke's faux-enlightenment psycho-babble and would only be a contradiction depending on the definition of the word enlightenment, you favour - I see you're absolutely certain of your own - how very enlightened of you...
@GodOfSpoons gnostic christian is the original christianity u ppl r just in denial its not like he denying christianity he is just saying that it has been corrupted over time and that it is full of myth and paganism
Misuse of the word ego is common among the ignorant. Ego means conscious or logical mind. The word you seek is ID. This by strict definition means the subconscious, primitive basis of INSTINCTIVE behavior. The understanding of this, represents enlightenment
have you ever read one of his books? they make it known that they know nothing! that so far what they got works best for them. some people try to sell you a cell phone...at least people are TRYING. if you are already there, then you wouldnt be downing people trying to get where you are. no matter how they try. why'd you even watch the video if you have all the answers?
@GodOfSpoons gnostic christian is the original christianity u ppl r just in denial its not like he denying christianity he is just saying that it has been corrupted over time and that it is full of myth and paganism. i don't believe in the bible or any religion but i do believe in god. its hard to believe in a book that has been rewritten and changed many times
The insights offered here are right on the money and may well have been those that Jesus the teacher offered. The reason I suggest that he did exist is because Barara Thiering has found a way of deciphering early Christian documents to give an almost day by day account of the life of Jesus. The story that emerges is very different from the standard view but while historical details may be important, the core teaching is really what it's about.
Why would the apostles willingly suffer brutal deaths for refusing to stop preaching the Jesus of the Bible if it is was all a myth? People dont willingly die for what they know to be a lie! And how about Josephus he wrote of a historical Jesus. And how about the early church fathers in the 1st century, did they worship a Jesus who never really existed?
Yeshu was a extremely common name. which in greek is Jesus.
Josephus metions at least 10 yeshus, some translations of Jesephus only translate the passages that they want the reader to identify with Jesus Christ using the greek version of the name. while leaving the names of all the other jesuses in untranslated Hebrew. Josephus did not believe in any jewish messiah figure. he was a pro-roman jew
you should read the book by Dr. Eisler called THE MESSIAH JESUS AND JOHN THE BAPTIST.
people willingly die all the time for what they think is true. You yourself probably believe muslims martyrs are dying for a lie.
also the first church fathers (bishops) claimed they alone where the representatives of a line of apostolic succession stretching back to the 12 disciples. do you believe that?
For centuries the catholic church prevented anyone other than priests from readin the new testament for themselves. Why?
Gnostic would mean 'of gnosis' or 'of gnosticism', gnosis however means Knowledge or to Know, and you can think of it as the opposite of 'faith', gnosis is a direct communion with the Divine within, without the need for an intermediary such as a priest. Gnosis is a deeply spiritual state of enlightened knowing; the manifestation of your own Divinity.
I know that they seek spiritual enlightenment through spiritual exercises like meditation. However I am not sure of their belief system I know some belief Judas(the betrayer) to be a hero
Bart Ehrman will say that there is a historical Jesus. There are scholars on boths sides of the issue. I would have liked to hear his side that the gospel accounts aren't reliable or even the extra biblical sources such as Tacitus ,Josephus, who both referred to Jesus as a historical figure. Plus most religions that I know of acknowledge that Jesus existed.
The beautiful thing is that there is no difference between a historical Jesus and an actual difference. One would have to first understand for certain if there is an actual you or a conceptual you. From the standpoint of being God, beyond any limitation, there is not any actual anything but God, call Him by any name you like.
Because the majority of us believe that Jesus was the ONLY one having a God experience here, God allows us through our own free will to have a life which caters to our beliefs. "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full." John 16:24. You have to ask in God's name, not Chookin's name. Criticizing a stranger about their beliefs would say to me that your joy is incomplete. To me, you are a brother who has forgotten his true nature. Pax.
Gnosis says LIFE is LIFE. Our current paradigm for existence is unserving and it is given "reality" by our belief in separation, primarily our separation from God. Gnosis is only the remembrance of the truth BEFORE our social, cultural, political, and existential conditioning: God is all there is and there is nothing apart from God. God is not Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, Atheist. God IS. Free will is the way you see God, and as a result, the illusion of the world. See love.
I say it as being a gnostic myself. If Yeshua did not exist then their is no hope for me. In my veiw and study the signs and symbols of the ancients all lead up to the Christos or Annointed One. Yeshua was very real but Christianity has misrepresented him. If they can do faith healings and prophesy than it is very possible that he very easily used True alchemy to do his miracles. They assert that he is the ONLY Christ but we all have our own Christos within. The Disciples could do what he did to
EVERYONE can do what Yeshua did. That's what he was trying to say the whole time. We are all Christ. We are all Buddha. We are all Mohammed. We are all Gaea. We are all Brahma. When we recognize what Jesus (real man or allegorical hero) did, that we are not separate, that we are in fact one thing, which is Love, miracles will be everyday life on Earth.
Who has EVER done what Jesus did? Resserect the dead? Walk on water? Heal the blind and the cripple? Your pantheistic beliefs are insane and your knowledge of the Bible and Jesus is non-existant. Mate, you're all over the place here. In one sentence you doubt Jesus existence then say we should recognize what he did!! Typical pantheist double mindedness, all we ever hear from you lot is innocuous confusion.
Umm the disciples for TWELVE examples. After that you have Paul who also exercised the Dynamis of GOD as well as the Logos. Also what the Ancient Church of Jerusalem (not Rome) called The Word was not books or the Master but it was the greek word LOGOS which is where we get Logic from. It is by the Logos of GOD that we enter the kingdom of spirit.
you know that little tiny rhinoceros running behind the stampede? well chookin1 i think i see the same thing with you. always a livin in the past while the rest are moving forward.
If you had half a brain you would realize that these dictums these frauds are talking about are from the PAST. They hail from Babylon and the ancient mysteryand it doesnt go back much before then. So, whos living in the past brainiac?
After my heart stopped and i wasnt breathing the doctors brought me back with adrenaline and they had to zap me. I was on a machine breathing for me for 9 days.Ever hear of how weed CURES glaucoma?ever see a guy with a prosthitic?the water thing could be explained by many theories.people were on drugs (shamanism was HUGE and had to be kept on the DL, hence all the parables)or ever hear of a boat? Oil floats on water. What if Jesus was the leader of the Essenes(drs)and personified as healing oil?
Thank you very, very much for posting this video, Mark.
How I wish I could have had access to the excellent material you and Timothy presented here when I majored in theology in college and then after I went on to seminary--your material would have saved me a lot of time and even more heartache.
I'm thrilled however that this material is readily available to others now, and that you're making it so available in this easily accessible form. Thank you, sir.
As far as i know Josephus only mentioned Jesus Christ after some guy called Eusebius wrote it in a later version. The romans could of created a historic jesus in literature by tampering with and replacing older texts, even that aside, when was simple written words ever solid evidence of anything.
In my humble opinion Jesus was a social reformer in the likes of a Gandhi or Martin Luther King Jr. In the face of Roman oppression he gave hope to his fellow Jews through his non-violent teachings and deeds. He became larger in death than in life and those people viewed him as part of a prophecy come true. They split off as a faction of Judaism to become what is now a religion centered around Christ, aptly named Christianity.
Why would Freke assert that there is no historical Jesus, that it was made up by Christian Gnostics when even the Gnostic Gospels themselves speak of a literal/historical Jesus who taught them after his ressurection? How can he say there is no historical Jesus when the Roman historians Josephus and Tacitus both mention the man Jesus Christ including his death at the hands of Pontius Pilate?
Lying means you are saying something you know is not true. astroboy65 may actually believe what he is saying. Just like your claim that "They all called him CHRISTUS" doesn't mean you are lying when someone points out that he was called CHRESTUS occasionally. Or that "Roman" is not, nor, as far as I know, never has been a language. You are just expressing what you believe as best you can and so was astroboy65. Civility is a wonderful thing. Or so I believe.
Maybe he does believe his own ignorance. To a Christian I am lying by saying Christus is NOT Roman for Jesus because they havent done their research like I have.
100% A1....those who believe this rubbish have no idea about history or the bible and never bother to check the facts-they just fall hook line and sinker for these frauds.
I haven't seen you provide a single cite source for any of your comments MATE.
Why don't you display your extensive knowledge of the bible that you may educate and save this innocuous lot? Do you think Jesus was responsible for those miracles? NO, God was. "All things are delivered to me of my Father." Luke 10:22. Gnosis is the very real knowledge that you aren't the one in charge Chookin. You aren't the one who makes miracles happen, God is. Your only charge here is to love others.
Jerusalem and Palestine on a whole was seeped in Hellenistic thought at the time. This does not effect if there was an historical Jesus or not. With that being said, as a Christian I cannot deny the similarities between the Greek mystery religions of the time and Christianity.

Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 2 months ago
@Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 What does that have to do with reality?
avedic 2 months ago
@avedic Well, due to the fact that the Creator God is and was literally believed in by Jews, Christians, and Muslims, it cannot be claimed that this nonsense of gnosticism was originally stated as allegory. They originally made these claims as though they were stating that there actually were anthropomorphic beings called Yaldabaoth, Primal Adam, "the great architect Mithra", etc.

Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 7 months ago

The fact that the Jesus story describes an internal realization and celestial events simultaneously leads me to believe that the story is an ancient description of the "Holographic Theory" described by Quantum Mechanics.
ericbs5247 8 months ago

Also, consider the fact that in his post deflected force lightning enunciation, the "Emperor" pronounces Anakin's title Da'ath Veda.

Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 9 months ago

The only thing we know about Christ is what is written, and if you discredit that, then what can we give credit to?
jksville 10 months ago
TruthJockey 10 months ago 8
@TruthJockey And what do you know about my EXPERIENCE anyway? You are assuming a lot of things, which is not a characteristic of the enlightened.

By "early gnostic Christians", I ,of course, mean the leadership: Those professing such ideas. Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 11 months ago
Understand the possibility that, far from having been successfully "suppressed by the Christian orthodoxy", the early gnostic Christians became the Christian orthodoxy once this ploy proved successful in bestowing upon them an oligarchical position of authority over the masses.
Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 11 months ago
Let's take the idea of democracy as a governmental system, and the fact that it is and has been widely known, by the founders of the United States, for example, to be merely a ploy used to transition from the existing system into an oligarchy. Now, let's apply this idea to theological systems and realize that gnosticism, with its democratic notion of "divine authority", exists for the same purpose.

Things are changing - and this guy has certainly played is part in helping bring change about.
zthetha 1 year ago
@zthetha You do understand that gnosticism is purely and simply a mystery cult with an exoteric mythology which borrows its designated evil deity from Zarathustrianism, an earlier mystery cult espousing the dualistic concept of both a good and an evil god, and claims that this evil deity is the God of the Jerusalem temple cult, this in spite of the fact that Cyrus, a Zarathustrian, specifically allowed the Jews to return from captivity to build a temple dedicated to the worship of this Being?
Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 1 year ago
@Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 Hi - thanks for your interesting reply. Are we talking about Jahweh, that good old, Old Testament psychopathic deity? All gods are projections of man's internal conflicts, are they not? Jung's 'Problem Of Job' deals with this particular curiosity fairly well. I don't know if you are familiar with Tsarion's research into the 'Jews' which, rightly or wrongly, exposes the real story of Zionism and Akhenaton . Freud published a book asserting this Pharaoh was actually Moses Hmm..
zthetha 11 months ago
@Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 No, gnosticism is unrelated to Zarathustrianism. It takes anyones creator deity and turns it into evil. Not a good strategy to make friends, but it is a good strategy to leave this world ASAP.
siderespector 11 months ago
@siderespector The Manichaeans do mention Ohrmuzd/Ohrmazd, the "good god" of Zarathustrianism, along with the "Great Architect" Mithra.
Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 11 months ago
@siderespector Also, their physical description of "Yaldabaoth", as a lion serpent is exactly that attributed to Ahriman by Zarathustrianism.
Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 11 months ago
@siderespector In fact, that is exactly what Zarathustra did. He made the claim that all gods which were worshipped in his or any other part of the world were false, and, in fact, evil, destructive forces, and that Ohrmazd/Ohrmuzd (collective mankind) is the only true god. Not only is this the case, but it is quite easy to ascertain his, and, by extension, the gnostics' reason for doing so, which is to provide themselves with a body of lyal adherents who will afford them luxury and authority...
Tsadi9Mem9Khet9 11 months ago
@siderespector correction "lyal" loyal. ...in their mortal lives, on the basis of deception as to the eternal benefits of adherence.

This is implies a reality.

oh... and all of these guys make BIG bucks with their seminars and retreats, "teaching" people to be enlightened (oh sorry... enlivened).... sigh...
shanna1950 1 year ago
don't we all experience these moments of wholeness+oneness? sometimes in a split second, sometimes it lasts longer. Does that mean we are enlightened when/if we experience this? I think that's so arrogant. The world is in the meantime full of these (sorry to say) white guys who claim that they are enlightened/awaken/self-realized, whatever. You never hear buddhist teachers talk about being enlightened EVER! sheezzzzz
shanna1950 1 year ago

As soon as one claims that their way or religion is the right way...and there is no other path...they separate themselves from the rest of humanity. Both Christianity and Islam are trying to make the world better for "their" God. This is insane as God is transcendent and beyond our knowledge. God isn't something you can prove through logical arguments. Finally, God is simply a word for the mysterious life force in everything.

i´m not begging for anyone to hand answers, espesially im not begging any comments from any imbecil cocksucking lazyass buttworm such as you. still most of the scholars think that it is more likely, that there really was some real person behind the myth. there really just is not enough evidence for either posistion, so the question is open.

I didn't say begging, that was your choice of words, and nowhere in the title does it say he is going to answer anything. the only imbecil cocksucking lazyass buttworm is yourself.there is evidence for both positions, you're just too lazy to do your own research and make up your own mind

Good luck to him though... All you people that dig him should give him as much cash as he wants.

And how much is your book Mr Freke? Can I buy 2 just to give you more money, then I'd feel really spiritual Mr Freke...
I'd rather burn the cash, personally, than give it to any of these faux-gurus. If you are human, and possess a mind then you have your tools.

As oppose to your oh-so enlightened and authentic voice of posting three, rather predictable, ego based comments about his earnings.
Waking yourself-up, btw, is a contradiction in terms. Enlightenment has nothing to do with the self - it's the end of self.

Misuse of the word ego is common among the ignorant. Ego means conscious or logical mind. The word you seek is ID. This by strict definition means the subconscious, primitive basis of INSTINCTIVE behavior. The understanding of this, represents enlightenment

The insights offered here are right on the money and may well have been those that Jesus the teacher offered. The reason I suggest that he did exist is because Barara Thiering has found a way of deciphering early Christian documents to give an almost day by day account of the life of Jesus. The story that emerges is very different from the standard view but while historical details may be important, the core teaching is really what it's about.
brucieji 2 years ago
Why would the apostles willingly suffer brutal deaths for refusing to stop preaching the Jesus of the Bible if it is was all a myth? People dont willingly die for what they know to be a lie! And how about Josephus he wrote of a historical Jesus. And how about the early church fathers in the 1st century, did they worship a Jesus who never really existed?
alivetree 2 years ago
Yeshu was a extremely common name. which in greek is Jesus.
Josephus metions at least 10 yeshus, some translations of Jesephus only translate the passages that they want the reader to identify with Jesus Christ using the greek version of the name. while leaving the names of all the other jesuses in untranslated Hebrew. Josephus did not believe in any jewish messiah figure. he was a pro-roman jew
you should read the book by Dr. Eisler called THE MESSIAH JESUS AND JOHN THE BAPTIST.
feces4u 2 years ago
people willingly die all the time for what they think is true.
Why?

What does gnostic mean really?
bharrod 2 years ago
Gnostic would mean 'of gnosis' or 'of gnosticism', gnosis however means Knowledge or to Know, and you can think of it as the opposite of 'faith', gnosis is a direct communion with the Divine within, without the need for an intermediary such as a priest. Gnosis is a deeply spiritual state of enlightened knowing; the manifestation of your own Divinity.
MindCraft83 2 years ago 2
I know that they seek spiritual enlightenment through spiritual exercises like meditation. However I am not sure of their belief system I know some belief Judas(the betrayer) to be a hero
thelastdaysquestions 2 years ago
Gnostic means one who knows.
not knowledge in terms most people think, its the same knowledge in Buddhism called Prajna.
its direct experience and knowledge of the divine, which intellect can't grasp.

Hi Mark,
thanks for sharing this interview. Among other extraordinary books, his latest one is a revelation , what Christ Consiousness is all about.
Sundrumify 2 years ago
The beautiful thing is that there is no difference between a historical Jesus and an actual difference. One would have to first understand for certain if there is an actual you or a conceptual you. From the standpoint of being God, beyond any limitation, there is not any actual anything but God, call Him by any name you like.
rafestoneman 2 years ago
Because the majority of us believe that Jesus was the ONLY one having a God experience here, God allows us through our own free will to have a life which caters to our beliefs. "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full." John 16:24. You have to ask in God's name, not Chookin's name. Criticizing a stranger about their beliefs would say to me that your joy is incomplete. To me, you are a brother who has forgotten his true nature. Pax.
kmjones623 2 years ago
Gnosis says LIFE is LIFE. Our current paradigm for existence is unserving and it is given "reality" by our belief in separation, primarily our separation from God. Gnosis is only the remembrance of the truth BEFORE our social, cultural, political, and existential conditioning: God is all there is and there is nothing apart from God. God is not Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, Atheist. God IS. Free will is the way you see God, and as a result, the illusion of the world. See love.
kmjones623 2 years ago 2
I say it as being a gnostic myself. If Yeshua did not exist then their is no hope for me. In my veiw and study the signs and symbols of the ancients all lead up to the Christos or Annointed One. Yeshua was very real but Christianity has misrepresented him. If they can do faith healings and prophesy than it is very possible that he very easily used True alchemy to do his miracles. They assert that he is the ONLY Christ but we all have our own Christos within. The Disciples could do what he did to
RevRonnie2 2 years ago
EVERYONE can do what Yeshua did. That's what he was trying to say the whole time. We are all Christ. We are all Buddha. We are all Mohammed. We are all Gaea. We are all Brahma. When we recognize what Jesus (real man or allegorical hero) did, that we are not separate, that we are in fact one thing, which is Love, miracles will be everyday life on Earth.
kmjones623 2 years ago
Who has EVER done what Jesus did? Resserect the dead? Walk on water? Heal the blind and the cripple? Your pantheistic beliefs are insane and your knowledge of the Bible and Jesus is non-existant. Mate, you're all over the place here. In one sentence you doubt Jesus existence then say we should recognize what he did!! Typical pantheist double mindedness, all we ever hear from you lot is innocuous confusion.
chookin1 2 years ago
Umm the disciples for TWELVE examples. After that you have Paul who also exercised the Dynamis of GOD as well as the Logos. Also what the Ancient Church of Jerusalem (not Rome) called The Word was not books or the Master but it was the greek word LOGOS which is where we get Logic from. It is by the Logos of GOD that we enter the kingdom of spirit.

The romans could of created a historic jesus in literature by tampering with and replacing older texts, even that aside, when was simple written words ever solid evidence of anything.
judas7james 2 years ago

Freke's assertions have no basis in reality.
astroboy65 2 years ago
Stop lying. No historian mentioned Jesus Christ. They all called him CHRISTUS that is NOT Roman for Jesus.
seonf 2 years ago
Lying means you are saying something you know is not true. astroboy65 may actually believe what he is saying. Just like your claim that "They all called him CHRISTUS" doesn't mean you are lying when someone points out that he was called CHRESTUS occasionally. Or that "Roman" is not, nor, as far as I know, never has been a language. You are just expressing what you believe as best you can and so was astroboy65. Civility is a wonderful thing. Or so I believe.
diggerad 2 years ago
Maybe he does believe his own ignorance. To a Christian I am lying by saying Christus is NOT Roman for Jesus because they havent done their research like I have.

chookin1 2 years ago
I haven't seen you provide a single cite source for any of your comments MATE.
Why don't you display your extensive knowledge of the bible that you may educate and save this innocuous lot? Do you think Jesus was responsible for those miracles? NO, God was. "All things are delivered to me of my Father." Luke 10:22. Gnosis is the very real knowledge that you aren't the one in charge Chookin. You aren't the one who makes miracles happen, God is. Your only charge here is to love others.
