How awful! It's funny how things seem like a HUGE ordeal for ourselves then in reality, nobody notices. :)
And the "don't wear black with brown or navy" thing is really a fashion myth - kind of like "don't wear white shoes after Labor Day" thing. I don't really think it matters. Put it this way, both brown and black are neutrals. You can pair a neutral with pretty much any color/pattern. I can see certain situations where it may look awkward, but I don't think it's much of a problem, honestly.
@myocum12 At this point, it's something I've grown up with as basically the only thing about fashion I'm aware of, so I couldn't look at myself in the mirror and find it acceptable no matter how mentally prepared I got.
@meaphe I'm no fashion expert by any means, and I totally understand. I've had days like that too. Reminds me of a time I drove around for 20 minutes finding a parking spot on my college campus and slammed on my breaks when I saw someone pulling out of their space only to spill a huge cup of coffee all over the front of my shirt or the time my cat decided to take a nap on my jacket and I didn't notice until I got to campus so I didn't wear it and froze all day (because of course it rained).
@meaphe yeah there was a point that i said forget it and just let the rain pour and some jerk tidal waved us with gutter water.. it was sompletely over my head .. literally... my cousin and i thought it was fun after all that though... but i did have fun holding up my 50lbs heavier army pants i was wearing
@meaphe at least you had an extra set of clothes... went to a family friends party... someone sat a pizza ont he couch [i think it was one of the kids] didnt look and sat on the pizza >.< the lady who owned the place let me borrow a skirt which was nice BUT 80s print skirt, unshaved legs, sneakers, and a very not matching top... i just wanted to go home

You would've definently satisfied the attention you want from your students....the boy students anyways. Just another day of grinding in Japan, huh? Just like the coffee cleaning incident maybe people would've assumed you actaully did pee on yourself and quickly help you out before you got a chance to explain, lol. Orrr...maybe you did pee yourself and they did find out....and told this made up story to us to salvage what little bit of dignity you had for the day...hmmm.. I'm a conspirisist.
