Just counting the numbers and size of the USSR against Finland. They had over 300 times more tanks, 3 to 4 times more men, air superiority, and artillery support. I find it very, almost unreal, they couldn't conquer us with such numbers. Considering we didn't even have proper AT weapons, but the snow did it's job.

@Warismyfuture In december 1945, The United States had 345 principal combat ships, NOT including smller craft, support vessels or patrol vessels. The japanese sunk 7 ships at Pearl Harbour. I think perhaps 'half' the US navy is a bit of an exaggeration. Actually closer to 2%.
Oh, and by 1942, the US had Doubled the number of 1941, including refloating and repairing all the major surface vessels sunk at PH save one.

@Warismyfuture Well, in my books it's quite of an accomplishment to not get occupied by the Soviet Union, especially when they attacked without declaration of war in 1939 (winter war). Just counting the numbers and size of the USSR against Finland. They had over 300 times more tanks, 3 to 4 times more men, air superiority, and artillery support. I find it very, almost unreal, they couldn't conquer us with such numbers. Considering we didn't even have proper AT weapons, but the snow did it's job.

And if we lost the war of 1812 the United States would have fallen back into the United Kingdom... which it didnt. The war of 1812 was a standstill much like the Cold War until the Battle of New Orleans where we slaughtered the British forces there. Look at the politics in war, still undefeated(for now)

for the US-Mexian war, a win in the sense the we gained more land, total loss in the view of ethics and the fact that it was probably a leading cause to the civil war. We waged war as a powerful nation against a weak nation and acted very injustly in aquiring land from Mexico.
