I stumbled across this while looking for the trailer to European Vacation. You did a wonderful job with this compilation. Sadly, the only other movie I saw her in was Fallen Angel from the early 80s. What a beautiful woman she was - very talented & very pretty. Its unfortunate we have to refer to her in past tense like this. Anyway, thank you for sharing this.

I don't know if fans know but Dana did some voice-over work on the film "HOOK" I was at the studio to do my VO for the film (British voice of Peter Pans Mother) and she was there finishing up her session so I got to watch. She is the uncredited voice when you see a young Peter Pan visit Wendy and he is playing with his shadow. Dana is the boy's voice in that scene.

There are several diff types of diabetes, Dana Hill had "Type 1" (juvenile diabetes,) which can be very severe and difficult to deal with - but as with anything,, it's good to have friends who care. Your friend is lucky to have people like you around!

This was an excellent tribute to Dana. Nice job. I've been a type one diabetic for half of my life. I was 15 when I found out I had diabetes. I have an old vhs of an educational diabetes program which featured a few celebrities who have diabetes. Dana is in that video. They gave me that video at the hospital...back in '94. Dana seemed to be very healthy in this video. It was sad to learn of her passing. Scared me a little at the time, hence me being a diabetic myself. R.I.P. Dana.

I can remember being especially saddened by her death, not only for the world losing her but because I'd been diabetic since '77 and I'd always hoped for the best for Dana because she was the first and only "public figure" I'd known (and could relate to) with diabetes for a long time. Well, it wasn't meant to be hot (and I certainly wouldn't classify anything like that as the hottest in film history). I included it because it was a display of Dana's talent -- she was portraying the 13-year old victim of a child pornographer and it showed how he had groomed his victim throughout the course of the movie. It wasn't meant to be seductive (except to Howie [Richard Masur]...it was meant to be powerfully disturbing.

I just watched Shoot the Moon last night. Dana Hills performance was awesome. Many of the scenes in this tribute are from Shoot the Moon. The part where she is threatening Albert Finney is one where she had just been spanked and beaten by him. I found this scene both interesting and disturbing at the same time. The film with Dana threatening Albert Finney is "Shoot the Moon"- one of the most honest films about divorce ever made and Hill was brilliant in it- she won rave reviews. It's now on DVD.

Also look for Cross Creek- a beautiful film about the woman who wrote "The Yearling".

Hill was an extremely intelligent and talented young woman who could play practically anything- from sit-coms and National Lampoon comedies to edgy drama and even the classics.

It can be. My sister has been hospitalized 9 times since her diagnosis 7 years ago(she's 24 now)I think a lot has to do with how well you manage it too with diet and exercise, but it seems like Dana's was severe enough to interfere with her height! Some cases vary, I guess, but the doctors have warned my sister that if she continues on the path she's on, she'll be on dialysis by the time she's 30. Diseases are so scary and insidious. Everybody--please take care of yourselves!!

For some strange reason she came into my mind this morning and I found this. I had no idea she passed away. Today is July 12th, she passed July 15th, the very same day my nephew was born in 2006, and died July 28th 2006 of heart failure. I don't know what all this means, I'm just telling it how it happened.
