@ZhongChineseLong U have to read bruce lee history before write stupid things about his life , thanks. Im surely training more than u , and I dont need your advices about this argument. Now I stop writing anything about martial arts or real combat because there are many (or too much) wing-tsung-men in here.
That will work not. Never. If someone can do a takedown a bit, the WC-guy will go down. He has no balance, no base. He cannot resist such takedown force, with a bit kicking fancy stuff. And guys who know how to takedown, know how to protect themselfs against knee-strikes and kicks while doing that. Check out Lee Morrisson or Jim Grover for real takedown-defense and anti-grappling.
Wing Chun is a form of martial art , which takes down the opponent in the quickest time possible. And if you dont like that, bruce lee was a practitioner of Wing Chun. just so you know. chuck norris learned martial art from bruce lee. And if you still dont like that, perhaps you can invent a type of martial art yourself and try to spread it all over the world like Wing Chun did.
@jrzy49 nothing is true or parent,he combined all he thought on his imo is usefull.Cause many asian arts contain elements of culture then practical real fight.
I thought this technique was fine. The side kick may or may not drop him but if he resists and hops off to recover his balance you can just blast him with a chainpunch or come up and stick to the leg with chi gerk for a sweep..
@JeetKuneDoLucca Bruce Lee learned Wing Chun from Yip Man. After 6 years he moved to America so he couldn't train more, and he made his own style with many techniques from wing chun and boxing. His teacher, Yip Man, almost killed 10 people with wing chun in the japan-china war 1937. These people was elite black belts in karate. Please read or do martial arts by yourself before you write stupid things on youtube. Thanks.
@anthonyrivero415 no in sparring matches before he moved to america, mostly with rival schools
he was also his schools boxing champ for 4 years (without having trained in boxing at this point)

He was against proffesional competion because at that time almost all of the moves he liked were illegal
@ROOTSOFCOMBAT2 the moves he liked, biting, breaking bones, eye strikes, are still pretty illegal in competition. But he disliked competition because he saw his brother clearly win a fencing match and the judge said he lost
@LaRueDeeko No he decided the art was to rigded and didnt have enough power long range. He then took bits and pieces of other arts and applied wing chun concepts to them creating jun fan gung fu.

@zacktillery K now you're deffinately mad :) Redneck rodent? Troglodyte? Hahaha! im not saying this wouldnt work in a real fight but youd have to be faster then this guy. he was countering a move before the other guy even committed. im just saying that it wasnt a very realistic sim.
oh come on... You always have your opponent on distance. What are you gonna do when he is much closer than you want? Wing Chun is not based on distance, but on smooth body contact where you can overpower your opponent with fast punches and counters, so that he can't strike back!... Don't try making us people buy such bullshit! xDD
@IlHikariIl Hehe, than you have a serious ignorance illness, as we all know ignorance in Europe became usual, but such ignorance outside Europe is seriously dangerous. In Europe people are ignorant as a whole, outside of Europe people are ignorant as individuals. You are one of them. :)
@AnusMcFeggot lol okay lets fight. You can throw a lot of powerful but misguided punches and ill just rupture your inner ear with a bitchslap. To learn how to correctly punch, in any style, takes months before you know what your doing, and that can quickly degrade under stress in a real combat situation. A slap can be learned efficiently in days and is a natural response, easy to apply under stress. wing chun is not a weak martial art, I suggest you learn how to fight before saying that.
@TheTerrorUforgot its not weaker if it has correct contact. The punch applies force is such a way that its mainly generated by footwork and bicep where most punches use rotation of body and the forearm to generate power. its equivalently the same amount of power when it hits the target correctly with the index and middle knuckle and along their center line. second; i know that wing chun has open hand strikes. but we were talking about slaps. not wing chun.
@UrSoMeanBoss Slaps are iffy, but boxing the ears like you said can seal the deal in a fight without hurting your hands.
If you punch in the chin using a WC punch while stepping forward, it has knockout potential, The same could be said with a stepping jab in boxing, but that doesn't mean the amount of force is equal to a cross or hook. The same result doesn't = same power. That's usually why WC people move forward hitting repeatedly to cause a "rocked" state and prevent recovery.
@TheTerrorUforgot true about alot that you said but the force generated by a near-straight punch combined with forward motion, and the rotating punch with a swinging motion, nearly generate the same PSI~ unless your using an outlandish swing (like nearly 180 on one foot/or even jumping towards the target). rotationm + swing == forwardm + trust [psi wise]
@UrSoMeanBoss Yes, it is weaker. Any wing chun practitioner worth their salt and with a knowlege of body mechanics should admit that. Their advantages are: they are faster, they are hard to read due to their lack of fist/shoulder rotation and that the first fist may mask the second (same line), in a standup position they come from below like a 3/4 uppercut at the chin, and they are difficult to counter because they don't commit full body weight like boxing punches.
@proEsoccer You need to stop being a stupid cunt. The fighting style you train in does not dictate how well you fight. How well you fight dictates how well you fight. Just because you saw some kickboxer do something that made your dick hard, doesn't mean you are some sort of martial art guru. Then again you're 18 and post videos of football goals... Yeah. You like watching blokes in shorts roll about on the grass together?
@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL You're a complete retard. All the people who use the "MMA is gay and you like to roll around on the ground with guys" Arguments know nothing of fighting. All fights go to the ground, and almost instantly. Of course you wouldn't know, you're too busy doing chores so your mom won't kick you out of the house. Shut the fuck up, go do MMA and learn to fight, then come back here and try to talk, kid.
@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL Says the guy who is too stupid to realize that a simple BJJ fighter could kick your ass. You are literally too stupid to insult. Good day.
@zacktillery You have no idea who I am or what I am capable of. I've studied Muai Thai in Thailand for 13 years, I've also studied with several BJJ experts, in Brazil. Also studied Capoeira quite intensively. I'm trained in 7 fighting styles, pretty sure I'll slap you silly, son. Good day.
@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL The MERE fact that you mention Capoeira as ANYTHING other than laughable, is quite possibly the most idiotic version of an argument i've ever encountered. You're outnumbered, kid. You are nothing but an internet warrior. Unlike you, i actually have a ground game, much grappling experience, and i could probably beat your ass standing up. Learn to talk trash, THEN learn to back it up, and you can come back at me, little boy.
@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL Whether you want to acknowledge it as real wing chun or not, there is an original form of Wing Chun. The knowledge the creators had of fighting and tactics back then is greater than this MMA adapted stuff you find all over youtube. I still believe the traditional way is not old-fashioned, but in fact, the most deadly form. Disagree with me if you like.
@Settlers6 well the traditionnal way evolved in a society where life and protection wasn't necessarily guarantied. Often martial arts were created in response to a real need for protection against life threatening situations. Wing Chun is effective, fast, powerful, and contrary to most martial arts, has absolutely no showy effects or artistic moves. It also has no use of mercy, finishing an opponent as fast as possible, just like other war inspired martial arts (ju jitsu for example)
@Settlers6 I would love to start, but there're no schools close to my house, and I'm not sure I've got the time to go to a class on the other side of town :(
I'm gonna try to figure something out, because this is just the best!
@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL well if I'd say ''real'' I would probably mean Yip Man's wing tsun which is the first to be taught outside of family but that's just me
@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL it is but there is style tht is called traditional wingchun and it stays under protection of yip man's traditional teachings and has not changed and is very rare to find. i would know ;)
@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL watev dude real wingchun is wingchun it is real in everystyle of it, but the only thing tht makes it real is you... so think about wat u say about things.
if you really want to learn how to fight, just check out the commandos trainings, those are srsly effective ;) no hate to this tho, im just sure alot of it doesnt work in a real fight
If the opponent had any martial arts training he wouldn't be like "Oh here let me stick out my fully extended leg for you so you can do whatever you want to me"
This man in red is got used to punch with his fingers instead of fists. I would like to see how he will be punching in full contact in enemy's bone head with his poor fingers
first, someone who can do a decent front leg side kick, wouldnt do one from there
also, he would easily be able to see you moving half way and could throw a back leg reverse hook kick or what ever you want to call it, or just not do the full kick
i was sparring with my friend i did a side kick, he tried to do what the guy in this vid did and unfortunately i ended up kicking him in the face with my back leg,
this would work against a retard, but you dont need wing chun for that
@ikcjjtt even the 1 inch punch have a source of power.
people below also commented the flaw. he is giving wing chun a bad reputation base on his videos.
the line of martial arts that i practice teach me that if you don't have the strength to combat, use inertia / acceleration turning your enemy into a fulcrum. the faster he attacks the stronger my counter will be using his own force.
0:43-0:45 see how the other leg will automatically balance when you are kicked that way.
@ikcjjtt looking at the video, there is no way that kind of kick can bring you back or trip you down. this guys as i read on the other video he have seems to be a kickboxer and he is teaching wing chun.
it is like a fish teaching everyone how to fly.
with that kind of kick without source of power, force and even inertia will have almost no effect and the attacker can balance on the other feet easily.
these video always get bad comments, and yet i bet most of you here have not much experience in martial arts, or you do but your not that good
and you don't like these videos because you think these techniques will never work because you can never see yourself doing them
well not everyone is meant to be a fighter, ive done so many martial arts, and ive got to say that wing chun does work, depending on what build you are.
I was hit by a kick like that before but i never fall down instead i use the other leg to balance quickly. the only way to bring you down with that kick is to keep one leg up in the air.
That is a kick with no power (akedo, taekwando.. etc similar power kicks), or speed/inertia from kali and other related arts.
Wing Chun is a street fighter's style. its meant to defend yourself in a chinese alley way. the reason it looks like he's just slapping him is because if he used actual chain punches, he would fuck that guy up. lol
before u make a kick, u have to put ur knee as high as (a bit above) ur belt position. this is the secret for a good kick. other wise, just like it will be no speed and power. plus we have to use the hips + body at the same time. this guy does not know how to kick. the reason i made a comment here coz i just want to share some martial arts knowledge with you guys. i don't mean to offense anyone or these guys in this clip....cheers.
@sean710anz well, bruce lee's side kicks came straight from the ground. and they were very effective for grounding a charging opponent. it was more of a push, or a wall to bounce off of than a kick though, so i see your point
Total and utter Bullshit. The ONLY way this would actually work is if the guy performing the (totally shite) side kick was to shout "HEY I'm about to throw a really shite side kick at you geezer!"
Seriously, is part of this guys are to be able to mind read or see into the future!? Look at 0:02 seconds and you will notice he is blocking the 'kick' before it has even reached the point of chamber thus demonstrating this is nothing more than a pointless excersise.
haha..just what I was gonna say.. its fine an dandy to know how to counter/block/avoid a certain attack. Its another to be able to tell what attack your opponent will use
The problem with these videos is that the kicks and punches are always done quite horribly. Heres what i say, these guys are sapposed to be masters, put on a padded helmet and put on a helmet on the other guy, the swing/kick all out like you want to hurt them at full speed.
much better demostration of technique
oh and ps: next time you want to demonstrate a side kick, or any kick, get a martial artist who actually knows how to throw them.
@combatantdvd ha that's right cuz I am a teenager. But I think these videos are inspiring in contrast to the shmucks who think this is invalid fighting. I practiced a wing chun move on my brother and he was left breathless. Great fighting style. I also praise Krav Maga.
jumps instead of shuffles, doesnt keep up a guard, doesnt chamber, doesnt turn hips out, never has back foot planted, so much wrong with that guys sidekick
What's with the constant chain punching? A real Wing Chun guy would most likely stomp the attacker's head in while he's on the ground, not follow him to the ground with chain punching.
@BringPopcorn , why not? in real fight you take every opportunity for a direct hit, doesn't matter if he's on the ground, standing, or flying in the air. Just hit, hit, hit until he's down unconscious or just unable to hit you.
@BlessedSalmon it's cause he's not trying to hurt him. This is training. In a real combat environment you would use fists. But you must toughen your hands down to the bone.
why he is puching with his fingers? He would break them if he will hit them in enemy's head in real fight. I thought he had to punch with fists - so why he is puching with fingers?
Wing what ever you call it probably have some use. IF you have that man fist flying at you to blind you its kinda hard to look for an opening to escape. That way the rapid punches will serve as a distraction until the attacker can find an opening to give harder blows.
This video isn't about style A vs. style B, it's about a response to a specific attack from a single style (Wing Chun). Last time I checked, "Sidekick" was not a practiced martial art.
@TehJohnny866 Well first of all, wing chun is not mainly power. it's merely form which produces the very strong punching force. Wing chun is actually very relaxed, and the more relaxed you are right before you punch something, the more powerful it will be. you can even try this out yourself. If you flex while you punch, it will not be as effective as when you relax and flex at the last moment, releasing a great amount of potential energy. Wing chun punches are continuously relaxed and forced.

AnusMcFeggot 1 month ago
@AnusMcFeggot lol okay lets fight. You can throw a lot of powerful but misguided punches and ill just rupture your inner ear with a bitchslap. To learn how to correctly punch, in any style, takes months before you know what your doing, and that can quickly degrade under stress in a real combat situation. A slap can be learned efficiently in days and is a natural response, easy to apply under stress. wing chun is not a weak martial art, I suggest you learn how to fight before saying that.
UrSoMeanBoss 1 month ago
@UrSoMeanBoss It also can spare your knuckles, not to mention all open-hand strikes aren't "slaps"
TheTerrorUforgot 1 month ago
@TheTerrorUforgot its not weaker if it has correct contact. The punch applies force is such a way that its mainly generated by footwork and bicep where most punches use rotation of body and the forearm to generate power. its equivalently the same amount of power when it hits the target correctly with the index and middle knuckle and along their center line. second; i know that wing chun has open hand strikes. but we were talking about slaps. not wing chun.
UrSoMeanBoss 1 month ago
@UrSoMeanBoss Slaps are iffy, but boxing the ears like you said can seal the deal in a fight without hurting your hands.
If you punch in the chin using a WC punch while stepping forward, it has knockout potential, The same could be said with a stepping jab in boxing, but that doesn't mean the amount of force is equal to a cross or hook. The same result doesn't = same power. That's usually why WC people move forward hitting repeatedly to cause a "rocked" state and prevent recovery.
TheTerrorUforgot 1 month ago
@TheTerrorUforgot true about alot that you said but the force generated by a near-straight punch combined with forward motion, and the rotating punch with a swinging motion, nearly generate the same PSI~ unless your using an outlandish swing (like nearly 180 on one foot/or even jumping towards the target). rotationm + swing == forwardm + trust [psi wise]
UrSoMeanBoss 1 month ago
@UrSoMeanBoss Any studies or pressure tests that can show this? Both people must be the same weight.
TheTerrorUforgot 1 month ago
@TheTerrorUforgot Yes there was one I saw but it was a while back. To google i suppose.
UrSoMeanBoss 1 month ago
@AnusMcFeggot and by the way; slapping isnt really part of wing chun- its more commonly seen in CQC and boxing defense...
UrSoMeanBoss 1 month ago
@UrSoMeanBoss Yes, it is weaker. Any wing chun practitioner worth their salt and with a knowlege of body mechanics should admit that. Their advantages are: they are faster, they are hard to read due to their lack of fist/shoulder rotation and that the first fist may mask the second (same line), in a standup position they come from below like a 3/4 uppercut at the chin, and they are difficult to counter because they don't commit full body weight like boxing punches.
TheTerrorUforgot 1 month ago
@proEsoccer You need to stop being a stupid cunt. The fighting style you train in does not dictate how well you fight. How well you fight dictates how well you fight. Just because you saw some kickboxer do something that made your dick hard, doesn't mean you are some sort of martial art guru. Then again you're 18 and post videos of football goals... Yeah. You like watching blokes in shorts roll about on the grass together?
ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL 4 months ago
@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL You're a complete retard. All the people who use the "MMA is gay and you like to roll around on the ground with guys" Arguments know nothing of fighting. All fights go to the ground, and almost instantly. Of course you wouldn't know, you're too busy doing chores so your mom won't kick you out of the house. Shut the fuck up, go do MMA and learn to fight, then come back here and try to talk, kid.
zacktillery 3 months ago
@zacktillery You're also retarded. I've been a professional Muai Thai kickboxer for 13 years. Come at me, brah.
ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL 3 months ago
@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL Muai thai is good stuff, but without a ground game it is just as ineffective as wing chun.

@zacktillery Fight's don't get to the ground, it's over in 2-3 blows.

@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL "Fight's don't get to the ground" That's what they said in UFC 1 too. See how that ended? Good day.
zacktillery 3 months ago
@zacktillery A Muai Thai fight is completely different to UFC. UFC is pretty faggoty.
ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL 3 months ago
@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL Says the guy who is too stupid to realize that a simple BJJ fighter could kick your ass. You are literally too stupid to insult. Good day.
zacktillery 3 months ago
@zacktillery You have no idea who I am or what I am capable of. I've studied Muai Thai in Thailand for 13 years, I've also studied with several BJJ experts, in Brazil. Also studied Capoeira quite intensively. I'm trained in 7 fighting styles, pretty sure I'll slap you silly, son. Good day.
ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL 3 months ago
@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL The MERE fact that you mention Capoeira as ANYTHING other than laughable, is quite possibly the most idiotic version of an argument i've ever encountered. You're outnumbered, kid. You are nothing but an internet warrior. Unlike you, i actually have a ground game, much grappling experience, and i could probably beat your ass standing up. Learn to talk trash, THEN learn to back it up, and you can come back at me, little boy.

LightGesture 3 months ago 2
@ANGRYCOMMENTSLOL Whether you want to acknowledge it as real wing chun or not, there is an original form of Wing Chun. The knowledge the creators had of fighting and tactics back then is greater than this MMA adapted stuff you find all over youtube. I still believe the traditional way is not old-fashioned, but in fact, the most deadly form. Disagree with me if you like.
Settlers6 2 months ago

SkyF0X9 5 months ago
a good kicker ( take bruce lee´s sidekick for instance ) can adjust the shot as their target is moving. wc is not a style, it is a system.
peluchetaiwanes 5 months ago
first, someone who can do a decent front leg side kick, wouldnt do one from there
also, he would easily be able to see you moving half way and could throw a back leg reverse hook kick or what ever you want to call it, or just not do the full kick
i was sparring with my friend i did a side kick, he tried to do what the guy in this vid did and unfortunately i ended up kicking him in the face with my back leg,
this would work against a retard, but you dont need wing chun for that

MatheusRebelo 5 months ago
on the step by step instruction, he pulled his leg up (changing what he did before), favoring the need of force.
vhortex 5 months ago
@ikcjjtt even the 1 inch punch have a source of power.
people below also commented the flaw. he is giving wing chun a bad reputation base on his videos.
the line of martial arts that i practice teach me that if you don't have the strength to combat, use inertia / acceleration turning your enemy into a fulcrum. the faster he attacks the stronger my counter will be using his own force.
0:43-0:45 see how the other leg will automatically balance when you are kicked that way.
vhortex 5 months ago
@ikcjjtt looking at the video, there is no way that kind of kick can bring you back or trip you down. this guys as i read on the other video he have seems to be a kickboxer and he is teaching wing chun.
it is like a fish teaching everyone how to fly.
with that kind of kick without source of power, force and even inertia will have almost no effect and the attacker can balance on the other feet easily.
vhortex 5 months ago
these video always get bad comments, and yet i bet most of you here have not much experience in martial arts, or you do but your not that good
and you don't like these videos because you think these techniques will never work because you can never see yourself doing them
well not everyone is meant to be a fighter, ive done so many martial arts, and ive got to say that wing chun does work, depending on what build you are.
CrypticNova39 5 months ago
I was hit by a kick like that before but i never fall down instead i use the other leg to balance quickly. the only way to bring you down with that kick is to keep one leg up in the air.
That is a kick with no power (akedo, taekwando.. etc similar power kicks), or speed/inertia from kali and other related arts.
vhortex 5 months ago
@vhortex um..the side kick is a power kick. and its purpose is to push the oppnent back, not knock him down.
ikcjjtt 5 months ago
Wing Chun is a street fighter's style. its meant to defend yourself in a chinese alley way. the reason it looks like he's just slapping him is because if he used actual chain punches, he would fuck that guy up. lol

Its pretty hard controlling the leg like that with your hand especially if the kick is coming fast. Good like trying this.

RAxzibit 5 months ago
before u make a kick, u have to put ur knee as high as (a bit above) ur belt position. this is the secret for a good kick. other wise, just like it will be no speed and power. plus we have to use the hips + body at the same time. this guy does not know how to kick. the reason i made a comment here coz i just want to share some martial arts knowledge with you guys. i don't mean to offense anyone or these guys in this clip....cheers.
sean710anz 5 months ago
@sean710anz well, bruce lee's side kicks came straight from the ground. and they were very effective for grounding a charging opponent. it was more of a push, or a wall to bounce off of than a kick though, so i see your point

Total and utter Bullshit. The ONLY way this would actually work is if the guy performing the (totally shite) side kick was to shout "HEY I'm about to throw a really shite side kick at you geezer!"
Seriously, is part of this guys are to be able to mind read or see into the future!? Look at 0:02 seconds and you will notice he is blocking the 'kick' before it has even reached the point of chamber thus demonstrating this is nothing more than a pointless excersise.
chrisjones1980 6 months ago 2
@chrisjones1980
haha..just what I was gonna say.. its fine an dandy to know how to counter/block/avoid a certain attack. Its another to be able to tell what attack your opponent will use
luxiniv320 6 months ago
The problem with these videos is that the kicks and punches are always done quite horribly. Heres what i say, these guys are sapposed to be masters, put on a padded helmet and put on a helmet on the other guy, the swing/kick all out like you want to hurt them at full speed.
much better demostration of technique
oh and ps: next time you want to demonstrate a side kick, or any kick, get a martial artist who actually knows how to throw them.

What's with the constant chain punching? A real Wing Chun guy would most likely stomp the attacker's head in while he's on the ground, not follow him to the ground with chain punching.
BringPopcorn 6 months ago
@BringPopcorn , why not? in real fight you take every opportunity for a direct hit, doesn't matter if he's on the ground, standing, or flying in the air. Just hit, hit, hit until he's down unconscious or just unable to hit you.

Wing what ever you call it probably have some use. IF you have that man fist flying at you to blind you its kinda hard to look for an opening to escape. That way the rapid punches will serve as a distraction until the attacker can find an opening to give harder blows.
balitigermoua 8 months ago
@jeff61177
This video isn't about style A vs. style B, it's about a response to a specific attack from a single style (Wing Chun). Last time I checked, "Sidekick" was not a practiced martial art.

ThatBboyGuy 8 months ago
@ThatBboyGuy explain sire, explain
TehJohnny866 8 months ago
@TehJohnny866 Well first of all, wing chun is not mainly power. it's merely form which produces the very strong punching force. Wing chun is actually very relaxed, and the more relaxed you are right before you punch something, the more powerful it will be. you can even try this out yourself. If you flex while you punch, it will not be as effective as when you relax and flex at the last moment, releasing a great amount of potential energy. Wing chun punches are continuously relaxed and forced.
