Well, I agree that the voice-acting and animation really doesn't work for this scene. I have to say however, Dan (Nite Owl II) being there for his partner Rorschach's death, instead of staying inside and acting like nothing happened make the movie better for this particular scene instead of the comic. It was one of the changes I liked the best.
@gokito2000 Too keep it short...Ozymandias had a plan to keep the world united, but it costs the lives of millions of ppl. Ozy enacted his plan and succeeded in uniting the world with his plan. Rorschach died because he was going to reveal Ozy's plan to the world, and if he were to tell the world, the U.S. and Soviet Union would be back at each others throats.
rorshack had to die,he was my fav character.i was so mad when i saw the movie.he was the only character that did not talk the viewers ears off and let his fist do the talking.
@567supergirl I agree, plus it has my favorite line in the entire series. "Suddenly you discovered humanity? Convenient." To me, this always represented the way people seem to change in such a way as to deny you something, or allow themselves to grow apart. You run into someone you always loved and they're married, how convenient. In this case, Manhattan developed humanity just in time to justify killing Rorshach but after Veidt's plan killed millions. How convenient.
God this motion comic is so hit-and-miss. Like you have scenes like Rorschach's monologue over the Comedian's grave, which are better then the movie, and then there's shit like this...
It's a shame because this version got the cross-cutting between images right, which the movie didn't (well, maybe they did in the Director's cut) but the voice acting is a little flat... I really like the Manhattan origins scene, though. The voice actor is perfect for that. Should have had Alan Moore voice Rorschach.
I think this is a nightmare rorschach had after saving the day.... I think that in real life Rorschach punched Dr Manhattan straight in his stupid blue face and walked into the room and killed Veight. Thats my story and im sticking to it.
@atomichead777 The movie's ending was the weakest part of the movie. The people who made this movies are not better filmakers than Alan Moore is as a writer.
@SpadaComics I know, but I don't really see the point of making a motion comic when you could make a real movie with some decent animation instead. Not that I think it would work for Watchmen, but it just makes me wonder.
@TheTrohl oh, of course!, but the money makes dance the monkey xD motion comics, movies, action figures, just comercial garbage to make money out of the fans...
@erblecde no, you didn't understand my comment, what i actually meant is that I love how this short is based directly on the comic and not in the movie... the scenario is from the comic, the dialogues and everything is from the graphic novel, I know both come from the same thing but the scenario and some stuff are different... thats what makes you stupid for not being able to understand a simple idea...
@CoRkSkr3w No, a fair comparison, Doc Manhattan is the height of dispassionate. I love the live action movie, but they did try to make him too human. In the graphic novel, the God parallel was much more tangible, and included the obvious indifference Alan Moore felt a god would have for an individual human.
@11Deez well its just that one guy does EVERY SINGLE voice in this thing it gets pretty redundant to me hearing the same guy (not even really change his tone or pitch) do every voice in this
I hated this scene when I flipped through the movie whilst flying at 35000 feet. I thought this blue guy has set himslef up as a god (note little g). I still think that in the comics all of the characters ended up being huge douches, but after watching the movie I feel better about them.
