Hopefully they will keep the units "simple": you can build the units (with upgrades) and send them on their way. I believe Red Alert 3 and C&C 4 have units that have 2 modes. I found that a little annoying (maybe if 1 or 2 units have this it might be fun).

I love the Zero Hour expansion for Generals. Good balance, more teamwork (better than C&C4), specialized generals gives a more focus role when playing in teams, more diversity. Hopefully they will create another expansion for Generals 2.

I second that comment Guardianofsakura, CnC3 and kane's wrath was far better than CnC4. 

I hope they keep the RD3 destruction but i liked the CnC3 texture realism, hopefully they will deliver on all of this.

@osopolar3008 Personally I think that be a paradoxical tragedy on EA's part. Besides that, especially after getting ahead the way they did at the end of Zero Hour, it'd also be all the more unrealistic if they still used such outdated tech. The GLA on the other hand wouldn't have to worry about that since they SUPPOSED to be that way. But I suppose I could see them bringing back China as a faction just because of those grounds for popularity.

@ChrisspacePatti Who cares about how strong the technology is... The most important thing is how you take advantage of that technology. There are some people who says that this game is based in the events before the Tiberium ones, since there are primitives orcas(these were found in tiberium games) and you can see how the war factory and barracks looks like the GDI ones.

But you do raise an interesting point. I hope the tanks have mounted turrets on them with killable gunners for balancing issues, and make tank shells and rocket launchers more effective against infantry since explosions should be more powerful in that regard.

You know, after DoW2 I have to say I don't miss base building all that much. It looks awesome so far, but slapping the Bioware name on it makes me a bit nervous. Bioware built itself on stories focusing on individuals, not nations/armies. Heh, and as for the third army everyone's speculating on, if they're going off the formula of the last game it's either China or someone else with a horde theme going on. GLA: Obvious, EU: replacement for the High-Tech Americans from last game.

@commiedeer ...third faction, the EU is it's own faction not related to the US, and the US remains isolationist like it did at the end of Zero Hour, thus, not playable in the game. Which I'm sure would suck for America fans as well. It'd be cool if they had sub-factions that had similar units to the side they were on, but were from a different nation altogether. Like Myanmar being China-esk without the horde effect, or Germany being American-esk with slightly different, more tweaked, tanks.

I have never played General's before, so how does the game work? Is it like C&C3 where you build shit and mine tiberium or do you have to capture banks and all the buildings?

@HeavyMacinery In Generals there were supply depots near every base, you built a Supply Drop close by and collectors would go to and fro, USA had the Chinook, China a truck and the GLA had slave workers. There are also Oil Derricks that you could capture with infantry for extra money, and later on build advanced structures or units to collect cash, USA had Supply Drop where a C-130 would parachute in supplies, China had hackers to steal money from the web, and the GLA had Black Markets.

', so it's all open now - seeing the third faction is still held a secret, it can't be the US or China. Russia maybe? Maybe Japan? The tanks look like early versions of the Predator tank, and the the aircraft is obviously an Orca Fighter, both from the Tiberium universe. I always knew Generals was set in the same universe, the GLA were totally the predecessors of NOD, GDI is clearly the EU gone global.

C&C has always been a SciFi fuck, All you need to do is look as some of the high end Chinese and American units.
