  • Awesome stuff, works great.

  • did this company sell out to gilette?

  • @gewglesux yep

  • @ku42 yeah thats what i heard.... oh well... i've tried their stuff and it does work... but if i use any kind of razor i gets bumps- but you cannot beat the close shave you get.bumps or not..

  • @gewglesux All of their stuff is overpriced but it works. I get pre shave oil, and shaving cream from another brand because this stuff is wayy to overpriced but it really works i guess. Their after shave balm is the most important because the smell stays on and the rest have no reason to smell! I use proraso and shaving soap don't forget about the safety razor it is a must have.

  • @ku42

i've always said the same thing.. it is expensive but like you said it does work. I think i'd like to try one of thse old fashioned razors they are suypposed to give a great shave. i'm sure there is also somthing to the badger hair brush too..

  • @gewglesux Yes it does give you a "close" shave because the razor is really sharp. You don't really need the shaving brush but if you want to keep "The Art of Shaving" go for it ;D

  • @ku42 Hey, Thanks for the reply. I think that i would only use that if for instance i needed that closeness for a special occasion... normall i have to use a facial dipilitory. you dont get the closest shave but it works for every day.. i'm still going to buy a new set up and keep it just incase... thanks for the tips.

  • I'm going back to using these products yes they are expensive, but at 46 i have smooth skin and like most black guys i dont have razor bumps.. I admit that i do groom and my GF likes it.

  • "The Science of Aromatherapy". Did the narrator just refer to aromatherapy as a science?

  • Remind me to punch my dad for not telling me that badger hair was the key to a successful shave

  • Haha what is this 101 for metrosexual men? Real Men shave with double edge safety razors!

  • PURE Mineral Oil in place of Shaving Oil? ...Not So Much!

Every extract needs a base if it's going on your face (even healing oils like lavender can be acidic) but PURE mineral oil as a substitute? NO! Watch out for the blackheads...

Shaving and great shaving products (The Art Of Shaving) are the foundation of a good skin regimen.

  • At least their video is not like gillettes. The guy is annoying and always smiling but at least he has some facial hair

  • sobre o tal óleo pre barbear concordo com todos, isso é azeite de oliva, com óleo de mamona, e algum óleo essencial, não justifica pagar esse absurdo não. só paga bobo, inclusive é ensinado como fazer no site barbear classico.

  • I store my razor blades in a little empty Heinz mustard glass container in vinegar! Use vinegar! Vinegar dissolves and strips the oils, salts,

shave cream residue, water corrosion, and hair left over after shaving that sticks and gums up your blades and corrodes! It also disinfects! It works great and you can find that little glass Heinz container at Walmart! Once I day, I shake and agitate the razors for like a minute that helps to have a washer type effect! You definitely notice a difference!

  • No harmful ingredients??? Errr.... thanks guys???

  • Proctor & Gamble and Gillette's "Insider" branding targeting high end consumers may work well as a business model, but AOS isn't really selling anything new here ... just the same old disposable junk that WRECKS your face AND your wallet. Their main objective seems to be to promote Gillette's 3- and 5- blade disposables. When they start teaching men about the benefits of TRADITIONAL wet shaving with either a DE safety razor or bona fide straight razor, THEN they'll have my attention.

  • So basically you shave with an even more expensive Mach 3 because it has a steel handle? These guys aren't even trying...

  • when he starts laughing around 4:04 its creepy haha :D

  • Yeah, it's really easy to shave when you have no beard or a mustache. Like this guy for example.

  • That's the biggest nickel i've ever seen.

  • The major thing with all this shaving stuff is that YMMV with every product. Don't listen to any opinions. Our faces are all different. Different skin types. Different beard types, etc. So, products that suck for one person will be amazing for another. Only trial and error will determine what works.

That said, for me, these AOS products give me the best shaves I have ever had. You don't use much for every shave (costs a few cents a day) and they last a real long time. Worth every penny.

  • Chuck Norris taught me to shave with a combat knife and works great!!!!

  • The Art of Shaving because Bics are just too cheap

  • The owners must of done something right! P&G bought out the owners of The Art of Shaving for "don't quote me" $35,000,000.00. I use this product on all my clients and I wouldn't use anything else. Other oil molecules are small and can infect you poor. While The Art of Shaving preshave oil molecules are to large to be obsorbed...

  • Change the blade every 3 to 5 shaves? Along with that advice, we should change our car tires on monthly basis.

  • Using safety razors and calling shaving an art?

  • @mordsgaudimachen those safety razors are supposed to be better than the rest.. I have never used one How do they work? do they get the job done?

  • I don't shave, I keep my beard trimmed though. I'm a grown man, I want to look like a grown man. Not an overgrown, barefaced 12 year old boy.

  • Hmm.. I just picked up the less-expensive badger brush ($55) at Nordstroms; I like it, but I'm sure if I were a bit more patient I could have gotten one just as good or better for less...

But yeah, watch Mantic59's videos on shaving... those will really help. And try shaving with a DE razor, it's cheaper. "Recommend changing blades every 3-4 shaves" Yeah, cuz that's cost-effective.

  • @officialmikethompson Yeah I bought the badger brush at AOS for about the same price and they told me it would only last about 2-3 years. How is yours holding up?

  • @vroyen 2-3 years? Only if you mistreat it, or the brush is junk to begin with.

  • real men use DE or straight razor

  • i think there lavender set is the best only because i have sensitive skin id recommend it to anyone that gets razor bumps/ingrown hairs

  • Where I work, I don't have the option to shave whenever I want to. However, even if I did, I love wetshaving. I have all the tools under the sun (and then some) to make this morning "chore" into an enjoyable ritual/hobby and my skin loves me for it. I shave on weekends too. Why not?

  • Ok cool lol....

Oh God you imagine lmao... i think as technology advances i have a feeling gillete is going to come out with crazy shavers...watch ...this will be interesting to see..lol

  • oh k cool...well incase if u go on facebook mine u can search under oswaldo marzan! hit me up when u can... B y the way...do u think gillete might come out with 6 blade....oh my go that will tear the skin off our faces lmao

  • Exactly..LMAO..i saw the price i said to myself "Where the X button so i can exit this page" Lol Insane prices. But other thatn that there other products are well and work pretty fine.....Hey do u have facebook or myspace?

  • Haha NIce...i actually have the lavender one also! And i love using the products...i use the gillete fusion and it works perfectly fine. i was checking out theres fusion razors and they sell them for like $150 and up....i said hell no im staying with my fusion and ill continue buying the razor packs lol..i have the battery one and i love it. i shave every saturday

  • Yea...good thing is that i only shave 1 time a week. And i use everything step by the step and it works completely fine..specially for my skin since its really sensative...the only thing is the oil is difficult to rinse out, Only water wont do it. i always need to wash my hands with soap if not then it will be super difficult for me to shave. Do u use the products?

  • Ohh wow thats crazy..i see!

  • Really...how do u know this?

  • This guy constantly smiling is SO FUCKING IRRITATING

  • @MrSmudger687 haha I KNOW!!

  • I tried their shave oil and it is one of the best products I have ever used. It lasts forever too. I use a Gilette Fusion power and I only change blades every THREE MONTHS. I buy a four-pack once a year. You get such a close shave with the oil that I was pressing my hand against my face very hard and couldn't even feel any stubble. Never even thought that was possible. Wow I sound likea commercial.

This stuff (the oil, not shaving cream which I haven't tried) is worth every penny.

  • he's wasting the water while shaving.

  • is it really that complicated? i shave once every 2 days up against the "grain" no probs at all...cheap Gillette fusion razor

  • This guy is super queer. I use this stuff and its not that simple, but it is the best shave I have ever had in a long time. The guy doesn't even have facial hair. I agree, they are very overpriced and fool people into thinking that their product is probably twice as good as it actually is. I am Indian and i have a thick beard, unlike this guy!

  • By the way, the very expensive pre shave oil they sell can be substituted with mineral oil. You can send 22 dollars on a small bottle or 2 dollars on a big bottle of mineral oil that does the same job.

The Art of Shaving store is simply a bunch of uneducated barbers, aggressive sales people and overpriced products.

  • @MrWinston1984 Yea ive used olive oil before too. Almost anything works, but the best oil ive used has been Pacific Co. Shaving oil, smells great, and works well.

  • Overpriced. Overpriced. Overpriced.

Most all they people who work at the Art of Shaving know little to nothing about shaving. Even the barber I saw knew nothing but balanced his lack of knowledge with a strong sense of self assurance. I brought my razor in asking him to show me how to care for it and he starts banging it all over the place. When I ask him not to bang the blade up against things he tells me it's okay he's been a barber for a long time.

And the rest of the staff is worse.

  • i just started using this stuff and its GREAT!!!

  • one of the secrets of using the mach 3 turbo is don't shave every day if you can. if doesn't give you a rash then at least for me.

  • Wtf... Shaving is not that complicated for christ's sake.

  • I hate shaving

thank God my beard is fine that only my trimming machine works just fine

  • Use the 4 elements of the perfect shave and follow the videos advises.

  • it really pisses my off that my beard is so thick and cannot be shaved close everywhere, and i cant shave against the grain because it hurts like hell for 2 days after that. I use a hot towel, and massaging, all the art of shaving stuff with lavender and their brush, and a Gillette Fusion razor. But still i dont get a shave as good as others =/ very small hairs are left.. dont know what to do

  • umm, grow a beard. if u say u got tough thick hair the most manly thing is some sort of facial hair. doesnt have to be an all-out beard, but a go-t or chinstrap is good 2. if u have that then the other hairs that u say are always visible wont show as much, cuz nobody will care since the rest of your beard is much longer.. thats my suggestion. but u can also chop your head off then that wayy u dont have to worry about a beard at all :D

  • The Art of Shaving is simply the best I've ever used, once I started using it it has helped me in each and every single thing they mention in the video, honestly once you start using it, you don't want to leave it. Its simply THE BEST.

  • Art Of Shaving is absolutely the best shaving line on the market. I have used it for quite some time now, and nothing compares.

  • That's not true. There are plenty of lines that compare to AOS. It's good, no doubt, but imo it's not the best.

  • A Mach 3 Turbo, shaving foam, and some after shave like Nivea works for me. The important thing is to take a shower first or really soak your beard with hot water. I have a full beard, dark tough facial hair, and sensitive skin. After blowing a small fortune on electric shavers and stuff like this, I've found the cheap basics work best.

  • I find it hard to believe that you can have both a tough beard and sensitive skin and get comfortable shaves with a mach 3. I consider myself to have those characteristics, and no matter how much prep I do, the mach 3 butchers my face on a fresh cartridge.

  • I have a tough beard and sensitive skin, and the he mach 3 butchers my face too. I tryed a double edge safety razor, after two or tree week of trainning I begin to have a really good shave. I really enjoy it. My shave is OK and it is really cheap. Go to see mantic59 on YouTube.

  • You MUST buy the brush! I bought this stuff without the brush and it took really long to shave, plus it was a real PITA. With the brush it was a really close shave and the girlfriend really liked it.

  • LMAO..thats true

  • Well I learned how to look like a knob while shaving at least.
