And I think he was only 19. Tyson may have had better combinations in his prime, but you can't really tell because his career is padded with knocking out no names. Vitor was also showing his great speed and boxing technique whilst defending take downs and worrying about kicks.

As much as tyson would have the greater advantage at beating Vitor in a Boxing fight, you have to see that Vitor is a very good boxer, which is Tyson's strength. Kicks, knees, elbows, clinching, wreslting, judo, grappling, jiu jitsu, submissions, ground n pound... etc... Much easier to become a master of 1 path.

@silantbill The reason why it would be extremely simple to take out Tyson in an MMA or street fight, is the reason that he would have absolutely no defensive wrestling to be able to avoid a takedown nor have the skill necessary to know how to swing punches the way he does without being setup for a takedown. It is alot easier to box like a boxer in boxing rules, but not so simple to box like a boxer when you can be taken to the ground when you swing like that. Not to mention kicks being involved.

Well in his prime Vitor was the same size as Tyson although it was steroids in his case. Vitor was like 90% boxing in his mma fights though, so I don't see him beating Tyson in mma either.
Stop comparing them. Tyson was a boxer. Boxers look for the tiniest mistakes in your game and capitalize on them. Its limited to the hands in boxing. But Tysons hands were the best. He was very quick and with lighter gloves he'd be even faster. Nobody can throw hands with him.

I'd say there both even, if not a slight advantafe to vitor. With tyson all it took was usually one good placed hit.
with vitor he waited for shit like that, and then ran up on you with a barrage. After what i saw vitor do to rich franklin gotta say vitor would win the fight.

A word has not been invented yet to describe how badly a primed Tyson would rape any living man in a one on one fight. He would fuck Vitor Belfort up beyond repair. This is coming from a long time die hard MMA fan and amateur fighter. Tyson would destroy anything that has a heart beat. No lie, dude is a fucking beast. @silantbill You might be right, but you need to give credit where credit is due. As much as tyson would have the greater advantage at beating Vitor in a Boxing fight, you have to see that Vitor is a very good boxer, which is Tyson's strength. Although Tyson knows absolutely jack shit about every single other aspect of what fighting really is.... Kicks, knees, elbows, clinching, wreslting, judo, grappling, jiu jitsu, submissions, ground n pound... etc... Much easier to become a master of 1 path.

@SunDownPoint But Tyson was so good at boxing the he really wouldn't need to learn other techniques in order to defeat Vitor. Against somebody as good as a prime Shogun or say even Jose Aldo, he would most likely be outclassed in a P4P situation. But I'm sure Tyson would use knees in a fight, it's almost instinct. And I've seen him throw plenty of elbows, so lets not go there. The fact is, Tyson was too fast, too aggressive, and too powerful to be stopped.Think of a younger Fedor, only deadlier

@silantbill The reason why it would be extremely simple to take out Tyson in an MMA or street fight, is the reason that he would have absolutely no defensive wrestling to be able to avoid a takedown nor have the skill necessary to know how to swing punches the way he does without being setup for a takedown. It is alot easier to box like a boxer in boxing rules, but not so simple to box like a boxer when you can be taken to the ground when you swing like that. Not to mention kicks being involved.

@Agrashsallam I agree with you, I don't mean that Tyson is a bad fighter and I definitely wouldn't like to fight him, but my point is that a boxer just know how to throw punches, and needs some space to do so, which means that he could be beaten easily by Belfort for example, if he just throw himself and take down Tyson... a boxer can't do anything on the ground...

You see the first clip of belfort, mike would have so many clear puches right to his face. Im pretty sure boxers generally hit harder then these guys. I'm also sure if mike got a clear shot to this guys face he would be down for good.

@aboomoosab Just take a look at belfort. He has no defence. Any good boxer would have so incredible many oppertunitys to hit this guy in his face! You see boxers allways protects their faces, but in ufc its more like street fight to be honest (pro street figthers) a lot of them are not impressive they are just very violent. But that's just my opinion. I would bet my money on mike.

Well in his prime Vitor was the same size as Tyson although it was steroids in his case. Vitor was like 90% boxing in his mma fights though, so I don't see him beating Tyson in mma either.

Stop comparing them. Tyson was a boxer. Boxers look for the tiniest mistakes in your game and capitalize on them. Its limited to the hands in boxing. But Tysons hands were the best. He was very quick and with lighter gloves he'd be even faster. Nobody can throw hands with him.
