Great Panel except for Phil Plait. Phil Plait, although a great public speaker, tilts to the left.

So?  There are probably all sorts of political opinions on that stage, isn't that a good thing when discussing free thinking?

Not when instead of respectable disagreement you have one side pushing for One Party command and control over every aspect of individuals' lives.

Competition of ideas is one thing. Saying there is no debate, and denying tenure and funding to anyone who won't step into line is a joke. So are such oxymorons as "scientific consensus".

science is and has always been the way for us. These people are just confirming it.

@lilchapin Agreed, and this can be supported by the example we learned during the horrible time we were not allowed to practice scientific methods...it was called the dark ages.  How'd that work for us?
