It actually does describe God and I believe no other religion has a concept of God which compares to the concept of God in Islam. God's names for example are a description, so we can at least form a correct concept of God. I believe that it is people's concepts of God that either make them a believer or a non-believer. I don't need to show you anything, you refuse to think it over. The fact that different peoples worshipped different gods isn't a big deal at all. Regardless of all religions, I can still think for myself and say: 'There has to be a God Who brought everything into existence.'

Only the God Who created this all can be the true God and that's my understanding of God. In Islam, I find exactly this teaching, that's all. Well how do you prove any god has precenedce over another? Why does Ra, Odin or Zeus not have more weight to its realism than any of the judaeo based gods? We cant prove that any of these gods dont exist becasue all the literature about them all is man made. So why Islam, and not any other faith? Humans have worshipped amny gods for thousands of years, why now is this the correct one?

Thats what I said, Judeao based menaing based upon Judaism. What im pointing out is why does this god have more truth to it than any other religon like greek gods, or viking gods, or egyptian gods, aztec gods etc. I cant prove any of these gods dont exist, does that mean they all do? There are many gods that we cant prove they dont exist. Not being able to prove that a god doesnt exist doesnt mean it does. It is up to those that believe to prove that it does.

I like how you said that you seek wisdom, but then resort to playing with theological texts by saying that they allow the killing and rape of people in ancient times. I suggest you actually read the Quran without preconceived notions or isolating one verse. Picking and choosing is often the fruit of one's determination to disprove Islamic morality as barbaric.

You cant pick and choose phrases in a holy scripture. I myself pick phrases from theoloogical texts. They all have some very good lessons to learn. On the other side, there are many barbaric phrases that contradict them. So Islam, as a whole cannot be founded on peace and wisdom. The Quran is a holy book & each word must be taken equal as the next and some of the Quran is awful so what am I to do? Blindly follow a faith I know to be wrong as a whole OR choose my own path. I choose my own.

The "Great Spirit" is not a god but those who believe in the Great Spirit are either atheist or deist depending on how they view themselves but they are definitely not theists seeing as the idea of a "god" comes from Europe. The ONLY monotheists that I know of are the Lenca and Cherokee...but the Cherokee probably weren't originally monotheist.

My definition if 'Intelligent design' would be the standard. Specified complexity.
Inother words, If I find a house on Mars, I see the House as intelligently designed not the planet Mars itself. Or if I find a painting on a tree I see the painting as intelligently designed not the tree it hangs on or the trees 'standing' next to it, nor the grass on the ground.
Intelligent would be understanding the cause and effect of things in the real world.

We just found a planet that contains water outside of our solar system. Some, not i, but some people speculate our solar system was purpously encased in the ratiation fields to keep our primitive race from reaching the outside. 'Secular' is a government that doesnt make laws and policy in favour of any particular religion, and historically has been set up by religious people, to help stop religious persecusion by THE RELIGIOUS.
