Wasn't it a great moment of the concert, when - after the increasing darkness of the pieces before - they finally announced: now the night is chased away? Cathartic, even...
There is no choir that there sings the bis of this piece, they are the own cantates those who play with his natural voice of baritones, first Scholl and later Jaroussky. Brilliant and enterteining end.
@TheRosamunda1 Yes, thanks for that observation. The recording you can listen to here is the first performance during the concert.
What I am referring to is an encore performance during the same concert which did in fact have the ensemble joining in. To my knowledge that encore was not recorded. However, sjuli17 was there I assume (as was I), so he/she would have known what I was referring to.
Sorry. I was referring to the concert of Brussels, December 11, 2010, but I believe that exactly in concert of Paris. At the end of this concert, they gave three encores, 1 ª. " Cold genius " (Scholl), 2 ª: " See even nigth " (PJ), 3 ª: " Now thw nigth " (Scholl and PJ). The latter the two sang it alternating his voices of counter
tenors with his natural voices of baritones, but there was no choir, they sang only Scholl and PJ alone. I have the complete recording, with encores.
Awesome et jazzy!

@sjuli17
And I particularly enjoyed the fourth encore, when the entire ensemble joined in singing.
A fun and light-hearted finish.
