Stunning performance. Just one quibble; the cameras seem to have an obsession with Janine Jansen and there are several moments where the video would have benefited from focusing on the other players. Loved the passion and the precision.
@cbloom1991 If i could play like her, I wouldn't care if my posture was the worst anyone had ever seen. I think her passion for what she does and the love she has for her instrument (or the loaned STRAD she might be using) overshadows any imperfection she may have. Lo, if we ALL could be so imperfect! :)

Still a great joy to these ears. The idiot who hated this performance knows nothing. A beastly hard piece for the first violin & clarinet--beautifully rendered here. Everyone is top-notch. A great French hornist--such dynamic control. Bravi tutti!

Why not post the 1st movement?? This is a wonderful performance. If there are a few wrong notes, a squeek on the clarinet or a clam from the horn who cares? Please post it--a mistake will be forgiven by anyone who really understands the vagaries of performance.
I am sorry guys-but i never could find the 1 st MV. it was not on the TV website. i did hear the concert couple of times on the radio and the 1st MV is as good as it gets.i will post it the minute i have it. I do have other videos from the festival and i will post them soon !
I was at this concert and don't remember any "wrong notes" per se, so it must be a problem with the recording itself if they didn't upload the 1st movement with the rest. All in all, an incredible performance.
I am just overwhelmed. What a terrific piece! The beginning is so modern. And the musicians, wow! It must be so difficult for 8 people to play together in such harmony. Also, one cannot help to notice how beautiful the 1st violinist is, with such expressive eyes. Bravi tutti, I will listen to this many times.
A performance that all can love and learn from. Terrific dynamic contrasts, in tune winds, rock solid strings and, of course, a concerto-like first violin part. You've brought back fond memories. Bravi tutti!
