I understand this was mostly a walk through talk through and this is just for next time around but you have the whole middle corridor so two guys should be firing one on auto one plinking then picking up fire. Again just food for thought. Otherwise great job
well it was a good video overall but you should really be peeling to your outside shoulder, otherwise you will get an ass full of lead... God bless all our troops.......
Full auto..? I hope this is not relevant for these guys actual skill in a contact-situation? Then they will be out of ammo b4 they could pull out more than 70m
Heya :) I would think that the shouted "CONTACT FRONT" would only happen if the firefight has already been initiated, and then only to bring maximum friendly firepower on target.
What worried me more is that they're teaching these guys to cross lines of fire... I don't know if this is standard practice, but it seems unnecessary.
Please correct me if I'm wrong though, I really would like to know.
no, it isnt standard op, the norm would be for the two in the rear to come on line, side by side in pairs, with the lead element. then one pair lays down fire while the other two haul ass for a couple seconds. then they turn and lay down fire while the other two run back to them. then repeat the whole thing.
Actually Rickyboy, you DO yell contact, which direction. Once you have been engaged, or are engaging the enemy, the element of surprise is lost, and the most important thing is communicating the threat to your team.
are the two soldiers in front both facing the enemy? If so, they need to fire at the same time approximately, to get as much lead on target.. 2 M16's is always better than one!!
They moved kinda slow too, even though they were simulating that they were between two buildings.. when you scream "contact front" you are most likely the one that gets assaulted, and then the main priority should be to get the hell out of dodge as fast as you can and regroup. (if your squad is assaulting you... ctnd
You do things like that while you learn. In the wide open, it's a walk through talk through, so everyone can see what is going on and understand. This wasn't at full speed, and wasn't supposed to be relative to the environment.

Agree with scotty. Apart from his opinion that the show wasn't bad - you display serious lack of urgency, aggression and enthusiasm.

why were some guys firing full auto and some single shotting?
fake1009 2 years ago
Some of the m4s were semis only.

Not fast enough, not agressive enough, but then again, this was just a walk through and not the full end exercise.

Big boy is ex delta my ass. Thats all you guys need to learn is break contact. The rest of us with react to contact
jtmoney336 3 years ago
You know him? I bet not. He is ex delta. take it for what it is, nothing more, nothing less. That's the point of the drill.

Its only one video. There were several that we took. FA was just for suppressive fire and it is simulated contact with more than just a fire team.

obviously dont scream "contact right/left/front/rear" .. One always want the element of suprise ;-)
But anyways, as you said, its not the end result, and im sure the drill was performed much faster when you had time to practice it! :-)
Greetings from a fellow soldier in norway!
Stay safe and God bless!
