Hi Darren great job, could you tell me how you get such good quality even on 480p? Im using Pinnacle Studio and everytime Im uploading movie the quality is not bad but could be definitely better!!! Are you using any soft to compress it?? Thanks!!!!
@yarkovic Hi Yarkovic, Thanks for your comment, ultimately the quality comes from your camera sensor, the larger will normally mean more detail. The was shot on an old Panasonic camcorder HDC sd100, it has not been enhanced in anyway, not even colour corrected. (I don't think so anyway, it was made 3 years ago) Regards Darren
@Darren950 Very nice work indeed Darren. Was all the footage filmed by the Panasonic or did you use other P.O.V cameras while on the move and if any what type please?
@ecoory The POV was a Vio, it was a standard format camera that is why the footage looks so grainy because it had to be scaled up to match the HD footage. I now use the new Go pro HD 2 cameras.

You should take your 1200 to somewhere like Utah here in the states. I did this spring and it was insane, my dad gave me the bike and I thought it was just another boring touring, but the thing is amazing off road! I can even land small jumps with ease! By the way love how you put together your vids, Subscribed.
Fantastic to watch and inspiring to say the least! Thanks for taking us along. The presentation is 2nd to none, IMHO, very well put together and a unique perspective with Videography. The Norway coastline reminds me of our backyard, Newfoundland and all is ruggedness. Can't wait to go myself and seeing that my wife is from Denmark and also rides, a trip like this is in the cards, soon.

@djrichardgrant Cheers for commenting, Norway is a great country to visit, a new vista around every corner. Give yourself plenty of time, speeding fines are brutal and they are meant to be, if you crash on a remote road it could take you an age to be discovered and an age for a response but that apart you will have a great time.

Nice video and editing. I must say I'm quite jealous. I'm not sure where your home base is but I imagine it's not cheap to bring a bike to Norway and ride around. How many bills did you drop? Oh and somebody should remember to always wear his gloves :P
@gamccoy Thanks for your comment, Chris and I come from the UK, and we meet Pal in Norway. I can't remember the exact costs, but the ferry was expensive and the cost of living in Norway is high compared to the UK which is not cheap. You are right about the gloves, it was just so hot. @Darren950 would you agree that its the less expensive way to see Europe as opposed to doing the regular tourist thing? The cost to ferry/fly the bike would be expensive but you would make that up with saving on accomodation costs (camping) and alternative transport costs.
@dutto75man I'm not sure what the normal tourist thing is? Does such a thing exist, I would agree that camping has to be one of the cheapest forms of accommodation, if you can call it that. For me it is all part of the journey, the travel and arrival, visiting places and seeing new people that really flicks my switch. Regards Darren
@Darren950 i guess what i mean by ''the tourist thing'' is going to where the maintstream tourists would go, and travelling via their means as opposed to the road less travelled. I would call them tourists but i would call you an adventurer tourist.
@Darren950 Sure we will! As of Now I ride a Royal Enfield Classic 500, BMW is launching in India Soon and I shall aquire ASAP. Once Done you are welcome to Ride in the Himalayas :) and the rest of the country, as I intend to travel around my own country before I vennture out!

Darren950 It actually was quite emotional, very cool. Did have a question.... what type of helmet did Chris have? It's black with a thin chin guard and very large shield. After watching Ive looked around and can't seem to find it. Do you know the brand etc? Also, if you make it to California you've got a riding buddy!

I know what a lot of time, energy it takes to film all this positions - and equipment - and how many breaks you had to make to get all on video. Its much more comfortable to drive only - without attention to the videocameras.
@steinert Thanks Steinert, you must have done a bit yourself to appreciate the time it takes to put a vid together. You have to really shorten your milage to allow stops etc to do a fly past or get a bit of scenery in the vid but I do enjoy it. @laughoutloud76 Thanks LOL, Very positive comment. Personally I prefer the GSA, it has a much bigger range for a start, wire wheels as standard which tend to be able to take a bit more of a hit. Its not a fantastic looker but it has a great personality, good load carrier and comfortable tourer. I have done nearly 24,000 miles and it feels better with age. GSA all the way. @Darren950 I live in Paris (not very cool for Motorcycles) but i've done a week-trip in Pyrénées and in the "Bardenas Reales" desert in Spain on my Speed Triple... It makes me see the motorcycle different, and realize that the 1200 GS ADV is the one I need !

You made a really famous video. Very exciting, full of best scenes.. and informative, almost professional.
I know what a lot of time, energy it takes to film all this positions - and equipment - and how many breaks you had to make to get all on video. Its much more comfortable to drive only - without attention to the videocameras.
But the result is just great.

@steinert Thanks Steinert, you must have done a bit yourself to appreciate the time it takes to put a vid together. You have to really shorten your milage to allow stops etc to do a fly past or get a bit of scenery in the vid but I do enjoy it. Like any thing in life the more you do, hopefully the better you get so please take a look at some other vids i have done since and if you like them please subscribe. Regards Darren

JESUS !! If this video doesn't inspire people to just get on their bikes then nothing will.
Totally admire the film. It proves that you can tour and explore on any bike. Speaking of which how did the bikes do? Im debating between the GS and the Adventure.
Any opinions would be great

@laughoutloud76 Thanks LOL, Very positive comment. Personally I prefer the GSA, it has a much bigger range for a start, wire wheels as standard which tend to be able to take a bit more of a hit. Its not a fantastic looker but it has a great personality, good load carrier and comfortable tourer. I have done nearly 24,000 miles and it feels better with age. GSA all the way. @Darren950 It would be great, but for the moment i don't have Bike ( im saving!) i can put you in contact with some friends who are bike and travel enthusiast too, let me know anything you need from this beautiful country. We have desert, snow, forest, beach... a lot!. Take a look at Carretera Austral for an idea.

@Darren950 I live in Paris (not very cool for Motorcycles) but i've done a week-trip in Pyrénées and in the "Bardenas Reales" desert in Spain on my Speed Triple... It makes me see the motorcycle different, and realize that the 1200 GS ADV is the one I need !
Enjoy Alps, you're gonna like it i'm sure (you'll go a little in Italy too ?)

@tostakyludo The very next project is to finish part 2 of the Iceland trip. Next year myself and a guy called edog200 (checkout his channel) are doing a ride around Europe, with a bigger long distance trip in mind. Subscribe and get the next part. We met Paul in Norway near Voss (neighbours with hyttes) after a eveningwalk, when we were travelling around with our car and he was going back home with wife and kids from their holiday. He told about your trip and this MOVIE( that it realy is:) wonderful to see. It's like we are back again. We will tell everybody who wants to see something about our trip to look at this on youtube!
