@BoxxyFan I think he's arguing that, before that point, there are no decisions made directly casual to the outcome of finding those keys.
I disagree that it's an "exact" point in terms of what happens thereafter, but I do think it fair to say that it is A point, *before* which, there is no direct discussion that directly leads to thought, that would lead to direct action, that would be directly relevant in terms of the sequence of events relating to the theft and placement of the keys.
@thebearclawjones That's the whole point of causality loops, there is no 'origin' or 'starting point' where it begins. It will and always has and always did happen. When Ted says 'we can't forget to put the keys there', it's actually impossible for them to not put the keys there. Simply because they keys are actually there. I have no idea what the fuck this guy is going on about where the loops 'rejoins' itself, because that's implying that there is a 'beginning', but there is no such thing.
@BoxxyFan I agree - but I was only trying to explain what I believed the basis of his comment may have been which, it looks to me, was to artificially create a notional "start point", in order to provide a means to discuss/describe the phenomenon - and that is actually reasonable: if you wanted to explain this to someone, you would also have to start your explanation somewhere, with some event, regardless of when, or what that was. Stating the obvious as an objection to that is just simplistic.
This is my favorite scene in the movie, and probably the smartest.

Not unlike Beavis and Butthead, there is such an amazing amount of brilliance in a show about two idiots.

The battle at the end of the sequel is a better example of this.

what the hell are you talking about? what do you mean the car horn is the precise moment the casual loop rejoins itself?
