I have noticed, that in the way some of these guitar geniuses of the late 60s - seem to evoke a sound that sounds like the description of the new Christ, that he is mexican or something. I know what I am hearing, and I've heard it before in other music. Alot of you will not understand what I mean, but those of you with song and feeling Will know what I mean. I think this Christ was supposed to show up sometime in the Seventies, and do soul saving from there, through the 90s.

The right hand is far more important in this technique, and Roy has it down ten fold. Not too many can pull this off.Look at that picking hand go, and coordinate when strumming, and tapping. He RULES!!

Every Saturday night in my house we watched Hee Haw (I know my parents were hillbillies from Virginia). The show was goofy and corny but they had every top star from country music on there at one time or another. Roy Clark was the co-host with Buck Owens. This clip was from the old Odd Couple show. I think Roy played Felix's cousin in it. I never forgot this guitar piece. It is still fascinating.

The percussive guitar was the best part (didn't know that style existed back then). And what was also interesting was the way he did it like bass-style slap & pop (funk).
@flyfishJJA Yes, I've heard of Flamenco, but this doesn't sound like typical technique (e.g. golpe, picado, rasgueado). Modern percussive guitar (e.g. Michael Hedges) sounds quite different, and that's what that part reminded me of. Then again, I'm not an expert in Flamenco, and most of what I know comes from Paco de Lucia. Any way, this is just hair-splitting. You're right that Roy was great, and I'm glad I discovered his work.
