  • Obama won the Presidency by a sizable margin-- was the election rigged too? By what means were pre-election polls rigged? Don't pollsters have an interest in accuracy since their reputations depend upon predictions which will surely be proved right or wrong in the near future?

  • Pollsters said that Chris Gibson was 17 points behind Scott Murphy. But Gibson won by 10 points!

  • @Mistertbones That's because well-conducted polls are sometimes wrong, but not usually.

  • And the big difference may have been figured from the bell curve, and the difference may have been 3 standard deviations away from the normal and that is very off the mean. When you get that its possible but not probable.

  • You cant get people to answer Obama or Clinton. They probably needed to get a bigger sample size. I almost bet that He said that Obama caught up from how behind he was. Even if the number doesnt sound big, statistically it could be gigantic becaus thats how statistics works. Obama and Hilary were close and Obama barelly beat her out and she was in the lead for a while, really the gallup poll was accurate. The gallup poll has a great team of statisticians.

  • onegiantstep4man;

I agree. I was contacted for the Gallup poll once and asked for a couple things I liked about Clinton and a couple negatives for Bush. You can see how those results would be reported.

Also, was contacted for another poll, and the questions were cut short when the answers were all conservative.

    Don't trust the polls.

  • No polls should be trusted. They put this propaganda over the networks to try and influence or sway uncommitted voters. The Gallup poll had Dewey leading over Truman, Truman won. Polls taken during the 1998 governor's race in Minnesota had Jesse Ventura way behind the other candidates, Ventura ended up winning by quite a gap. Right wing big shots like Rupert Murdoch and Scott Rasmussen have their dirty little hands in polls. Murdoch's Wall Street Journal is a sponser of the Quinnipiac polls.

  • Whoopie if they get wrong sometimes. When they get off by a lot its not bias, its bad statistics. How you take the poll makes all the difference.

  • I'm on the gallup poll pannel, but the polls get sent to my non-college home, and are normally off topic with my daily life, so my dad fills it out.

However, the way the gallop poll asks the questions, is that they only present 2 candidates and pollers can pick their favorite. for instance "if given the choice between the two, whould you pick clinton or guliani?"

my dad says he hasn't recieved a question about ron paul yet.

  • Brilliant.

  • Comment below is for Americans who dont research and will vote according to a party over common sense. And YES Zennie We are Outraged!! Lets stop the Bullshit. Check out Frank Luntz being busted by Penn and Teller...nice example 'Fuck you Frank'!

  • I just got done reading comments on previous pages. How about people go online and check out the Media Blackouts. If you say ' I'm pretty sure that..'

than you need to do HOMEWORK. What a bunch of Stupid Americans! Do us a favor and dont vote.

  • I joined ABC, FOX, USA websites just like all the other you tubers questiong why Ron is being hidden and if they are pulling a Fox Blunder. I suggest we do it again Folks. Also find out if your state is going to allow you to vote for Ron, yep thats right.

  • You shouldnt vote based on a party Emmeryjones, Your girl couldn't keep her man's zipper up or from falling into the White waters Dumb ass! As far as complaining directly to the stations. Are you deaf?

  • You should join the Ron Paul movement. Our polling numbers make absolutely no sense in accordance with straw polls, fund-raising, and internet/text messaging polls. Given the media's attention only to these national opinion polls, it seems fairly easy to through tons of bias into the electoral process.

  • Check this out. Perfect example of what you are talking about.

  • I thought it was general knowledge that 'scientific' polls are rigged.

  • Wow... But then again, I guess I knew as much, because FOX News' polls (the so-called "scientific ones", not the "call-in" or "email" ones) are always more skewed to the Republicans. But I don't even take the Gospels as Gospel. I hope Barack gets in, though I'll vote Democrat either way. By the way, one campaign issue to actually talk about is "Peak Oil". Check it out on Wikipedia.

Re:USA/Today,Gallup Poll's Rigged; Fund raising does not necessarily, mean postive polling ratting's.

    Dear Abraham Zennie,

If you're un happy, with Dr Newport's polling assessement ...than I suggest you, contact Dr Newport, USA/Today, & Gallup Poll, you're self, and complain. Because, our girl Hillary R. Clinton, is in the Presidential race to win..!

    Sincerely,

    Emmery Jones Jr

  • Dr Ron Paul for President in 2008. Saving the Constitution, Freedom and Liberty

  • My Obama friends, I am here for you. I am here for you when the DNC establishment & Hilary pick Richardson (for the latino vote) over Obama who is rightfully in 2nd Place. Do not let your loyalty to the democrats blind you to the fact they take you for granted. If you want to really mess them up, switch parties, vote anti war with Ron Paul. In the General Election, if you must vote Hillary, so be it. But you will have given them a real scare.

  • Obama is part of the CFR.

    Look it up.

    Know who you support.

    Knowledge is power.

  • Who is Ron Paul? He has never voted to raise taxes. He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership. He has never voted to raise congressional pay. He has never taken a government-paid junket. He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch. He voted against the Patriot Act. He voted against regulating the Internet. He voted against the Iraq war. He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year. Knowledge is power!
  • I agree with Zennie. In addition, Barack Obama is winning the debates. You wouldnt know it if you dont watch the debate and listen to MSNBC, CNN. But if you listen to the debates, Obama is getting the most cheers. Obama is speaking substance while Hillary is using slogans, "IM your girl", says nothing.

  • It makes sense that a polling place would re-do a poll if it didn't agree with all the other polls. No one would believe a poll if all the others didn't agree with it. To publish a poll that doesn't fit in would be embarrassing and reduce credibility.

  • But then what is the real point to rigging polls? I'm for Obama and definitely not for Clinton. A poll showing her ahead makes me want to vote because I know more people like me will try to see to it that she doesn't get in.

  • First of all, mystiqal missed the point. I'm not commenting on journalists, instead I'm talking strictly about polls. And secondly, again Mr zennie is only talk about his emotions again which hardly adds to the conversation. Study polls and we can have this conversation.

  • Just because a poll doesn't reflect the beliefs of your friends doesn't mean that its inaccurate.

RealClearPolitics shows the aggregate of all other polls... which further demonstrates Hillary's lead. Thus, lending even more credibility to a polling institution that has established itself for roughly 70 years.

This is a perfect example of an individual's emotions inhibiting his ability to come to terms with statistics.

  • This is the perfect example of liars using statistics.

  • i agree skin colour should never be a focus to judge someone. im more a ron paul man than obama because obama has taken money from lobbyist which should immediately sound alarm bells in anyone

  • LOL. Barack Obama, John Edwards, & Dennis Kucinich do not take money from registered Washington lobbyist or PACs. Don't lie to further your RP agenda. RP needs to win the Republican nom before he can even battle Obama.

  • I'm sure Hillary is well ahead of Obama and Edwards- the two REAL Democratic candidates. Wanna know how I know- BECAUSE AMERICANS ARE DUMB AS DIRT! They elected George W. Bush not once but twice! I really, really hope I'm wrong. I would love to see a President Edwards or a President Obama. God help us if we have another pro-NAFTA/pro-BigBusiness Clinton elected.

  • Welcome to the club, I've turned off my TV and cancelled my newspaper subcription a year ago.

Want Real News! Get it off the net from multiple sources and read like a beaver during high tide.

Our media has and still is failing us on the most important issues. Shame!

  • Screw all polls, we should get rid of all the polls and just show the canadates and their arguments, its just another way to get the dumb public to just join on to the highest poller

  • The polls are rarely right. Political advisors know this and don't take them seriously. This is why it is important to vote in the primaries.

  • good video.

obama is quite good but won't really change much if he wins. ron paul is better.

also, dont just vote obama because he's black - thats just gay. (and he's not even black but thats not the point). ron paul is the true equal rights man.

  • ok. i accept your challenge.

    1. please explain why you 'believe' he is against reproductive rights. if your talking about abortion - he says its up to the states to decide.

    2. he has never said prayer should be reinstituted in school. this is 100% false. please re-research.

    3. very reactionary? please explain. he's just living by the constitution.

what else does he have going? how about no IRS. how would you like to keep all the money you've earned?

    much love,

  • The debate on abortion will never be won by onw side or the other. I am very conflicted on this, I don't understand when a pregnant woman fetus is killed during the act of a crime that the individual responsible is accused of murder. Yet a woman whom asserts her "right" over her body and exercises Abortion that this is right. I don't believe the woman is a criminal so the analogy may not be fair. I am conflicted though.

  • It may be her body the fetus is in, but its the fetus that is getting killed. Mothers are supposed to act for their children that cant act for themselves, not against the child. It is MURDER!!! You are hurting a living creature, or at least killing it, not allowing it to live like you have. How selfish is that?

  • All the other candidates sound the same and never tackle the tough questions that matter. Fiat money and inflation (a tax on the middle class and poor), NAFTA (pushed through without your consent), Illegal Immigration (should have been halted). Sovereignty and respect for the rule of law. Habeas Corpus (right to trial by jury) has been suspended.

Your rights as an American are being trampled and no candidate addresses this. Thankfully we are aware in no small part due to Ron Paul.

  • At least Ron believes in human rights vs Dubya who takes away your rights without the approval of congress with every stroke of his pen.

Ron said Feds for Freedom and States for Choice.

Look at the big issues...the ones that will affect 6 billion. Not the localised issues which may only affect 10 million.

Global Freedom from Tyrrany, Lies, Illegal Taxes, Deceit and Endless WAR. You need to do some research and open your eyes and ears to Ron's message and the real issues. Dare Ya.

  • he's in favor of finintial responsibility, which in my opinion, is the number one issue facing the nation today.

  • Reproductive rights = murder of the unborn. America is a Christian nation and those who want to pray should be allowed to where ever they are.

Go read the founding fathers moron.

  • 1/05/04 USA Today headline: Dean starts 2004 leading Dems. 1/13/04 USA today poll, Dean leads all other Dems by at least 6 points.

1/27/07 Kerry claims victory in NH primary with nearly double the vote over Dean.

    Enough said.

  • That should obviously say 1/27/04... sorry about that.

  • These polls just don't work because news organizations manage which people take them.

For example; When you present a poll on "cats & dogs" to a majority of dog lovers - that is managing the results ...

We shouldn't pay attention to their polls.

  • Democracy is such a wonderful thing until the people get in the way and actually think they can make their own decisions. How dare the people guess the wrong answer when the pollster calls!

Just amazing. But not too surprising. "We'll poll until you give the answer we want!"

  • Very smart post..........Yes that is their GAME, exactly!

  • Obama and Hilary are both in Aipac's pocket, so polls are irrelevant, as well as who's in the white house. Both would carry out Aipac and CFR policies.

  • theoshow2: I tend to agree. Also... I thought I heard Senator Clinton make strong statements about breaking oil dependence, but her web site specifies spending on energy research (which is fine) but no specific goals--i.e. empty promises.

  • Yeah, I've got the attention span of a fly...

But dont worry we'll on it....

  • everyone knows that Obama is winning over Hillary and that Ron Paul is not just an internet phenomenon

  • I'm putting this on my myspace bulletin, and as my away message on IM, great job ;)

  • Always take the polls with a grain of salt! Talk about rigging, read this regarding Rasmussen Reports: baracktheyouthvote.wordpress DOT com/2007/07/19/poll-dancing-questions-answers-and-the-naked-truth/ (delete spaces and replace DOT with appropriate character).

    Obama in '08!

  • sweet info LOVE its right up my alley!

all the lies 2 be found out sooner or later by brave people like you that are not afraid to speak out! HOOYA! Hey look here: new! watch?v=hjlIoykP78Y

Steven D. Levitt posted a blog If You Were a Terrorist, How Would You Attack?

This is my response to him on the blog.

  • NO, what you can do is Vote Ron Paul 08

  • That is my intention.

  • Miraculous polls... one of the key factors in changing (not measuring) public opinion.

I see you've decided to make a video of your blog post, a wise choice :>

  • Zogby is the only poll I halfway trust. Rasmussen has been ridiculous the past week or two. They have no credibility.

Media types and political pundits who experience brief moments of honesty admit Hillary's poll numbers are "illusory."

I'm confident Senator Obama is the REAL frontrunner and regardless of what the polls say, if we really want CHANGE we'll ALL cast our vote for Senator Obama.

  • Oh man Zennie, there has been so much poll fraud I don't even know where to start. Polls have been reset, numbers have been cut, names have been left off... the list goes on. I don't trust ANY of the polls out there right now.

  • Nice piece... great analysis... can you focus a bit more on the issue?
