I was using 4.5, all I did was right click, drop-down menu has option for 'mix' as opposed to 'paste'. My version is so old, I'm not sure what the newer versions do, but it wasn't an add-on, it was part of the program. Hope this helps! Cheers!
I sometimes use my shotgun mic (AT815b) to reduce room ambience. Sometimes I put blankets up around the mic as well, it really helps. The Sony mic in the video can change from 90 degrees to 120 degrees.
Very nice... we really need more videos like this. Also which microphones to use when recording SFX. I bought a Rode NT1-A mainly to be used for voice but i have tried using it for effects too. Problem is that it has a Cardioid directional pattern which picks up a lot of ambiance from the room so i also use methods to reduce the noise. ^^
This was most interesting, and a learning experience to see. Thanks!

This is great stuff! I'd love to see more. I do sound design but I've yet to really tackle Foley (in the traditional sense)

Awesome ideas Buck. It's amazing what random objects around the house you can use.
