  • Hey dumbass, its a motor, nothing more, you stick a metal shaft in it and the same thing is going to happen. Only those goggles aren't going to protect you when the metal shaft smacks you upside the head!

  • Nice!

  • Make the magnets go in one direction and you will have a railgun!

  • The other half landed on your collection of rare floppy based games.

  • :D

  • Those are swimming goggles not safety glasses...........

  • first step in building a doomsday machine.. ripping apart magnetic forces.

  • Could you please try putting the magnets inside a balloon and then inflating the balloon, to see the magnets more easily :)

  • I love your old school round oscilloscope. I'm jealous.

  • u mad?

  • A black hole appears and sucks up the magnet and spits half in one place and half in the other... for those who haven't got a clue...

  • Just curious. wouldn't you get electrocuted considering there is an electronic current going through the wires

  • Their is a reason relays exist, you really shouldn't be handling bare live wires.

  • magnets are fun !

  • lmao how the fuck u found dat part ?!?!?

  • he's got the safety glasses on, must be serious shit

  • How many times do you have do the same over and over again? and where's the darn slow motion you promised?

  • Those are the best goggles of science EVER!!

  • You should attach those leads to one of those old school giant lever potentiometers !

  • You should put those magnets in a jar. Something not going to break.. !!! for your safety

  • "I can't get these apart with one hand."

    ...

Get's them apart with one hand.

    lol

  • some one told you have to much free time?

  • 08:43: *centripetal?

  • What do you think would happen if this was submerged in a low pressure tank full of Mercury.

  • Automate coiling with different conductors, patterns, shapes, illumination, record and control for every variable, see what happens, then go back and draw up the equations. See you in Stockholm.

  • batman better watch out for you

  • i want to see this on high speed camera

  • i heard dreamworks are making this into a full length feature

  • You are one crazy MFer. Lucky you didn't get beaned in the head with one half of a flying chunk of expensive collection of rare earth & iron. I'm very surprised those neo's didn't shatter with such an impact force, they are very brittle and now thanks to China twice as expensive.

Power on dude ... I want to construct a Rodin coil now. It looks like yer coil tries to levitate at times. If U could secure the mags in the core I bet that thing would lift off !!!

  • This Is Why U.F.O.s are round disk shaped!!

  • your table are messy

  • Rough approximation/guess:

    1) Coil turns on for half cycle of AC, causing magnets to try to flip up vertically to align themselves with its field (vertically through center). Force is strong enough that magnets flip up off table.

    2) Coil turns off briefly while going to negative half-cycle, magnets overcorrect (while in air) and end up horizontalish again

    3) Coil turns on for negative half cycle, magnets are now in air where field goes horizontal and so they get pulled in opposite directions

  • I think this guy has tendencies to become a psycho-killer...

  • @sokolhasan Qu'est-ce que c'est?

  • @sokolhasan why because he thinks?

  • Two things immediately sprang to my mind. #1; safety glasses be damned, why in the hell would you stand right next to that? and #2; RAILGUN! What if you had a stack of those coils, one on top of another which fired sequentially and you fired one magnet at a time? I would love to see a video of that.

  • Build a rail gun/Gauss Cannon. Do it.

Also, does the stack of magnets always split into two even halves? What happens if you just use one magnet?

  • "These are super powerful, I mean, I can't take them apart with one hand."

*promptly takes them apart with one hand*

  • I... "like" people that, in science, electronics and so forth, express values and information generally in a vague to to a "whatever" manner. Things like the "60 watts or something..."

In order to achieve some kind of experimental reproducibility, clear and accurate values and measurements are needed. Discipline?

Don't get me wrong. I do appreciate all people that do actual experimenting.

Cheers and all the best! :)

  • Railgun???

  • What witchcraft is this?!

  • fucking magnets, how do they work

  • @archenemies32 Ask and you shal recive... /watch?v=vjvpSHYOHkg

    That will help... ~Russ

  • @rwg42985 lol i don't think you got the reference to the shitty ICP song

  • @rwg42985 can i have £10?

  • @archenemies32 seriously??? you don't know!!! thats SAD!

  • 4.55 harddrive magnets..........

  • mercury!!!!

  • @Zanzabarism in a taurus shell boted down please.

  • reminds me of iron man

  • I love the Safety Googles

  • I want this video on my OT-890 phone.

  • Superb Quality vid thanks for sharing.

  • What is the purpose of the coil? Does this have some kind of practical use?

  • you could have smashed the screen on your oscilloscope!..thats igf its yours...expensive things they are, at least here they are...wish i had one.....

  • he created a magnetic field and the magnets went "Oh I'm getting the F%¤& out of here!"

  • toy

  • why are coil vids mostly (all that I have seen so far) showing coils laid horizontally?

is there no reason to try vertically?

  • Cool stuff. You need about 1000 fps to do nay justice to that slowmo.

    Happy new year.

    Z

  • Brilliant Man!

  • That's a nice looking oscilloscope you've got there!

  • So where are the improper comments are?

  • interesting coil but your presentation is poor. You dont run a coil through a light bulb. you can run an electric current traveling through a circuit through a light bulb but you cannot run coil through it.

  • you should probs be using a curent limiting resistor in there somewhwere, at around 20 amps, or less unless you cool it in some dry ice or something, if you do that you may be able to get a whole load more current

  • Hey why don't you leave the two screws on for a while, see what happens

  • i blinked what happen???

  • lolXD

  • heres half my stack :{D

  • vary and very are two different words.

  • Are your 'safety glasses' a pair of swimming goggles? :I

  • Nice experiment!

  • is 2606 a FRC robotics club #

  • at about the three minute mark i had to ask myself, are you aiming for the floresent light ;p

  • Sweet. By the way, I have the EXACT same polo shirt as you :D

  • Wish we had access to supra conductor.

  • Russ, this video was very nice! I have an idea on how to contain the magnets.. of you could somehow place a plastic sphere inside the center of the coil, so that way, you can stand the coil up and see if the magnets will free spin inside the sphere safely without flying out. I might try that same idea just as a bit of fun in my garage. I could use the different experiments exposure from working on motors and controls in there. And I do love magnetic properties that I never tire learning from.

  • Is your table metal?

  • at 7:30 his camera has lines through it from the intense magnetic fields lol

  • it looks like a radial muscle.

  • New idea for an engine. Coils that push/pull pistons that have Neodymium magnets on them. Computer controlled timing .

  • See Stan Deyo youtube on "AntiGravity explained and produced". According to him you only have 1/2 of what you need to produce anti gravity. I'll let him explain it for you :) But he gives you the other 1/2 info you need. Your 1/2 way there :)

  • @WulfBand magnetism and gravity have yet to be linked together as the same force. how can magnetism be used for anti-gravity? i am going to check out this video you speak of

  • I'd say that this happens because the higher the energy in the coil (or maybe the voltage or frequency) the the higher frequency vibrates the magnets. More Hz for magnet's motion = More kinectic energy. I think that the vibration against the table is so strong it bounces away.

  • This guy doesn't realize it but he has just discovered a primary effect of field propulsion! He's on the right track.

  • What is the point of this video? Is there one?

  • From watching this vid, I see that the magnets are not being split by actual magnetic field. They are being split by collision.

  • The first two times the right half of the magnet is looking for earth. It sought the plumbing pipe and then the earth on the plug.

  • start researching sacred geometry , i think some of the designs are free energy magnetic motors

  • I also have a pattern for a 144 point coil if you interested look up on youtube Gator 18x18

  • Try lifting the coil a few incnes see if the magnets say in the center??? worth a try

  • Now I'm nervous about shorting out my 24 inch Life Saver Coil.

How much force would a magnet be shot out the center?

    Could kill me!

I need some help connecting this bad boy and what kind of power I should use.

    I have car stereo amplifiers.

    1000 watt 1 Channel and a 300 watt 2 channel.

I'm thinking about using the 300 watt 2 channel.

But I have no clue what to drive it with.

    Need circuitry help!

  • good... what kind of wire are you using? can jewelry/craft wire be used?

  • Comment removed

  • Your gonna put your eye out ...your gonna put your eye out...na na na na na lol. Pretty cool stuff right there my man !

  • Super slow mo needed.

  • What method did you use to separate the metal backing of the HDD magnets from the actual magnet?

  • Try putting some kind of top over and see what it does dude?

  • So what did you do to get that propulsion?

  • Amazing man. Do more.

  • That can be used for launching rockets

  • Ever thought of a lid?

  • touch the copper

  • Airplane project now with looping waste current will commence, starting out small and work my way up.

    Make! Believe! ^^

  • nice weapon

  • Ginger hair is scary!

  • you could turn that into a high powered gun!

    to take out tanks!

  • What you should do is get a variac and connect it then ramp the voltage up slowly and see what happens.

  • @Tab54o yes. a good idea. but i would need a varic that couls hadle like 100 amps! ~Russ

  • @rwg42985 I didn't realize it was so low impedance. It would probably need a million turns on an iron core before you could actually do that.

  • Tidy up your shack and it won't take you 45 minutes to find the bits!

  • @slaynt if the shop an't messy... im not working hard enugh! :) ~Russ

  • it would be interesting to make a coil out of fibre optics !

  • the earth has a magnetic field right, isnt there a way to build something that just runs off this field without having to "stimulate" it with extra electricity? like how we use water flow to generate energy.. use the electromagnetic flow of the earth.

i dont know much about this so maybe its a dumb idea but whatever ;)

  • you sir are pioneers

  • Cover your scope or you just might find out if you can still buy the CRT.

  • Thats a real work station.... Reminds me of home.

  • This could be a new coilgun! Mabey you can try discharging a big capacitor through the coil with the magnet in the middle, then measure the magnet's velocity and see what kind of efficiency you can get.

  • i love that good old military oscilloscope

  • 1:09 "I mean, I can't get these apart with one hand."

Proceeds to split the magnet bunch, sliding it back like nothings happened.

  • pretty cool. we need to see that with a high speed camera

  • Is that a chunk of a broken optical disk on the floor @ 3:39 ? A cluttered lab is a good sign work is being done!

  • Russ per your Statement @ 8:35 could you set your coil in a area that has a depression as deep as 1/2 the length of you stack of magnets and see what happens?

  • dude stop shorting that coil across your wall outlet. It looks like you have some nice equipment there, you should have a current limiter in there. Also I am curious, if you have the equipment, have you played around with high voltage, or high frequency AC? Maybe try making the two separate coils out of phase with each other?

  • it may be the key to a magnetic gate. you know to get the magnet past the last gate.

  • ok very nice, would you consider the pulse that caused the magnets to fly, a high gradient magnetic pulse? this may be the ticket for the epg. what do you think?

  • you should look at the physics of a coil gun. This is essentially the same thing except that you used magnetic material instead of ferrous

  • how many multimeters do you have?!

  • When you put the large stack of HD magnets in there & you said "nothing happened", what actually happened was you almost had a ufo on your bench. The field around the Rodin fought the field around the center stack. The two fields had no win situation so the movement transferred to the medium they were in, "the air" I would guess that if that coil you have was more solid and did not fluctuate in the center like later in the vid & you wound a center air coil equal in wire. Pulsed DC thru ;)

  • @41366randy Pulsed DC would give the fields a directional flow (N+S) and the effect would have to be flight. if not, turn the center coil around or turn the negative + positive connections around. It would have to be as much power (variable for control). Now there is an experiment for you! Helmholtz coils are cool too. Study magnetic fields a bit, and pulsed DC, and how that gives Mag' fields direction and you could have some awesome toys in a short time!

  • Ok so your coil is having that effect, what would happen if you built a 2nd coil but wrapped it in the opposite direction, and then placed it directly above your other coil.

maybe the two will cancel each other out and effect the magnet differently.

  • hands up for a slow mo

  • try using a signal generator and high wattage car stereo amp. and finalize with a custom PWG and highpower mosfets

  • Comment removed

  • so does that mean the particles around the coil are getting pulled in through the hole in the center. too bad it gets hot really quick. or else i was thinking if the magnitude of the force pulling all the particles in through the center of the hole , just might able to fly this thing.

  • try running it on 8 Hz. also isolate the coil on a mechanical scale to see if there is any gravity canceling.

  • lol lol hahahahahahahahahahaha that was soo funny holly shit

  • 3, 2, 1, OOOOHHH MY EYE

  • What alloy are the stronger magnets made of?

Smaller are neodymium, but can't really figure out by the pronounciation, what alloy are the stronger magnets (4:45). Can anyone tell?

  • Try wrapping the coil as a toroid on top of the rodin. Maybe you'll get a magnetic control or shielding.

  • @11111111jws Yeah I think it dose, in my latest testes witch I did not post yet the magnet acts like it wants to jump out of the rodin coil when the outer coil is shorted. So I will do some more testes and post the resalts! IRS alittle defrent than your thinking but I'll post it! Thanks! ~Russ

  • @rwg42985 Have you tried putting an aluminum plate under nieth it? Perhaps to get the Boyde Bush effect of repelling it. With 60hz 110v hmm, not sure. I am working on (I think) the most radical pancake coil. I need a machinist to do the layout for me right now. This is going to take weeks to wind by hand. There IS no other fixture to do it.

  • @11111111jws Yes I have check my other vids. Also hand winding is the only way right now with these experimental coils. ~Russ

  • really??? they go through your hand???? My physics teacher made stronger magnets than those pfft

  • when are you going to build your rodin coil ironman suit?

  • @erik61801 How much are you willing to pay? I will charge ten billion in pure diamond unrestricted use and want 6 years to build it. Understanding that we will enumerate a high order cardinality SLA to agree on what are considered delivered in Object Role Modeling terms. LLC is not active yet because awaiting funding, Modelverse Design Services, LLC. Soon as the checks get here I will be continuing my work. Further I will accept the 10 billion in as needed funding payments at our will of need.

  • @entwisenva Anyone using this business model please send me ten percent of the at will proceeds on whatever scheduled basis to any address of record, they reach their destination. This is hereby an exploratory patent for the Research And Development Open Market Productivity Multi-Support Licensing and Disclosure Model. Technical Patent to follow at some point in the future. Transaction on complete doneness status: OPEN. ENJOY! :)

  • THE LAST SHOT SHOWED A BARE SPOT ON THE COIL. COOL VIDEO! MAYBE TRY ONLY ONE MAGNET.

    MUDDy

  • put a plastic bag on it and let it fly nigga

  • Someone just has to build a GIANT rodin coil and see what happens

  • Nice scope.

  • Also when you run AC through it, place it on aluminum instead of wood.

  • New ejector seat technology.

  • Got an experiment for your, place a quartz crystal in the center instead

Also test different sound frequencies through it... you might stumble upon something.

  • I mean,i really dont know SH** about anything...I know i will be nobody one day(as today and all my life) and i know i dont know what i should know but i dont care...I am lost now cause i dont know what did i want to say!Ok,it is funny is some wierd way and i must say i am impresed cause if u let me to do something like that,i would kill myself and half of a world....Keep up the good work and please make some cool think where u can use this!I dont mean a weapon(even u would get rich)Wll,GL man.

  • nice i am experimenting with 4 types of rodins.. i have one that i can levitate and another that plays music even bass notes.. low voltage and frequencys from 10 to 50khz i have used. i have 2 rodins that self resonate 1.5mv with a frequency of 1 to 3 ghz... these things are weird!

  • You realize how dangerous that is? Think of the magnets as an atom.... you just cause the magnetic field to flip in such a way to split their field.........deatomizer?

  • @jadon1979 Dangerous... :) yeah kinda, but we all don't know unless we try! Yeah! More testing on this coil with flying magnets with dc soon! Thanks for checking it out! ~Russ

  • @rwg42985 The same effect could be applied to all diseased cells. We just have to nail down the resonance of the specific diseased cells and apply the rodin effect to split the magnetic bond that holds the cell together.

  • @jadon1979 Hummm, yeah that's in idea! I think that lots can come from the Rodin math and coils! This stuff is for real! We just need to learn how to harnest it! ~Russ

  • Make a plastic protective box over those......Magnets........man that would hurt slamming into one's face.......

  • @jadon1979 The neo magnetics broke apart due to an impact of some kind, not because of the coil. And if you're looking for a deamotizer, go research CERN's LHC and learn about some real science.

  • @MrCcote Wow, I haven't checked my mail in awhile. You instantly nullify anything valuable you say by classifying this as "not real science". This is the heart of science: Experimentation. He can actually observe the effects of his experiments too. Considering that so many things in today's "Real Science" fail to meet any of these two then how can you even remotely knock this? Thankfully history is littered with free thinkers that gave us the modern day lifestyle we can have today.

  • @jadon1979 U tell-em Jadon higher scientific Truth above all else, keep experimenting buddy,True Science will prevail!!!.

  • The free thinkers throughout history that made this life possible were outside the norm of "Real Science". You should remember that.

  • I stumbled on the Rodin Coil a few days ago. This is the coolest vid so far.

What would happen if you lowered the current and raised the frequency? Less heat maybe?

  • @BenZeneProject Thanks, also yes higher frequencys is less curent is less magnetism. Chek out the one where I suspend a screw in the rodin! Thanks for checking it out! Also if you haven't yet google Marko Rodin, his math is where the coil came from! Enjoy! ~Russ

  • That would make for a great coil gun, also, would it be possible to make a rodin coil tesla coil?

  • @mmaaxx1198 Coil gun, hummm yes it would! Also there are some theories on a tesla Rodin coil, yes. But to my knowledge, no one had built one. ~Russ

  • Comment removed

  • @znykin thank you! ~Russ

  • @rwg42985

    Yes, Russian.

    You make dangerous experiments.

    My way is easier.
