I Agree on that MADEON had a 90% of his "Presentation" pre-done and the only thing he was doing it was Triggering CUE s / Steams.

where did you get the stabs?

@FlowTraceur - Madeon was triggering CLIPS and not MIDI on the Launchpad and it was more of a 'showoff' video. You never get to see what he's doing on screen and i'd say 90% was pre-prepared/rehearsed. My video is more a demonstration of putting a beat together in a particular style and the launchpad just happened to be handy as i'd been using it for other things. The whole point is that I wanted people to see some of the decisions being made whilst the beat was being programmed.

really well done and à very clear n detailed video! i guess it could be done with any midi keabord or à pad controller without the launchpad? i've been trying to record beats using realtime quantisation of Ableton , but its somehow wrong or not fluid.... maybe its just me...as i got the MPC3000 and SP1200 that are just great for realtime beatmaking. whats your opinion on Ableton's sequencer realtime quantisation - versus hardware sequencers like MPC3000/60

or 808/909,SP1200, etc ?

@jazzroom - Ableton's realtime quantisation is limited to straight or triplet grids but once the beat is in you've got tons of fantastic custom grids in the groove pool to try out after. It might not lock the beat the same as 808/909/SP1200 on the way in but it can groove like them afterwards. I don't quantize on the way in when I'm making beats usually but I used it to make the video go more smoothly in one take.

@jazzroom Have u tried adjusting the "choke" setting on the drum rack it helps it sound more natural as it determines how the samples are triggered
