the main event was Slice vs. Thompson (big $ name vs. less than average fighter) and it was a terrible fight and an even worse stoppage. Slice busted Thompson's cauliflower ear and everyone made a big fuss about it. It just was a really lacluster event that didn't showcase MMA to the world as it really should be.

I do not watch UFC anymore its been years since i have seen a PPV but in constrast i would rather watch mma then boxing both exceding i dont watch anymore, and i actually enjoy watching martial arts demonstrations AKA buddhist kung-fu monks and karate masters are way more interesting then any mma or boxing fight, but hey thats my opinion you probably feel different

Most likely rigged correct? I remember seeing another Elite XC fight it was Renzo Gracie VS. Frank Shamrock. I thought it was a good fight up until Frank was DQed because he executed an illegal elbow strike to the back of Gracie's head. Gracie was shook up but he could have gone on, he just needed a little time to rest, they ended the fight right there with Frank being DQed. So I am wondering was it inexperienced refs or the fact they were rigging fights that they went bankrupt?

I don't know how experienced the refs they used were, but if they're doing nationally televised events and they make those kinds of decisions, then the problem is that the front office who hired them are morons. hopefully, we won't have to deal with this kind of thing in MMA again.

If you watch the video, there are 2 very Very VERY horrible stand-ups made by the ref. The stoppage was also VERY early. Kimbo looked really pathetic on his back, his strikes were powerful, but very clumsy and it was just a horrible situation. Dana goes on in later interviews to imply that the Petruzelli situation wasn't the only shady stuff goin on in EliteXC and i personally believe that the ref for Kimbo v Thompson had some "special instructions".
elite xc sold out mma got a deal with network television and put on a show alot like the early days of ufc it was just pourly ran bad film crew horrible announcers who didnt know the moves or anything about the sport and had kimbo headline who has no credibility as a mma fighter so to people just tuning in never seeing mma before it would be the equivelent of watching some kids put on a backyard wrestling show and not knowing that the wwe exists in terms of proffesionalism

the main event was Slice vs. Thompson (big $ name vs. less than average fighter) and it was a terrible fight and an even worse stoppage. Slice busted Thompson's cauliflower ear and everyone made a big fuss about it. It just was a really lacluster event that didn't showcase MMA to the world as it really should be.

The reason they have the top ten is because the ufc is greedy as fuck. They shit out ppvs every month. For every 'good' match up.PPV. They make suckers out of the fans.And brazilians,and whiteboys do run the sport. Arturo gatti,and overated ricky hatton is all they had in boxing. the WBO has a contract with those networks that's why some of their fights are showcased on tv. UFC is still trying to acquire a contract with hbo but nothing's solid yet, so they show fights on PPV. Seeing how MMA is MIXED martial arts its only natural people will go to the more Diverse sport instead of black/white boxing. I do not watch UFC anymore its been years since i have seen a PPV but in constrast i would rather watch mma then boxing both exceding i dont watch anymore, and i actually enjoy watching martial arts demonstrations AKA buddhist kung-fu monks and karate masters are way more interesting then any mma or boxing fight, but hey thats my opinion you probably feel different

What he's referring to was Kimbo Slice vs. James Thompson fight. Two VERY VERY VERY controversial stand-ups. As well as Kimbo being in a position where the fight could've been stopped easily. And the end of the fight was the biggest joke. Thompson is hit a few times in a row and is still bobbing and trying to move and the ref steps in and stops the fight. Just a very public display of how shady EliteXC is/was. And that was step 1 on the road to bankrupcy for them. Step 2... Kimbo vs Petruzelli

Most likely rigged correct? I remember seeing another Elite XC fight it was Renzo Gracie VS. Frank Shamrock. I thought it was a good fight up until Frank was DQed because he executed an illegal elbow strike to the back of Gracie's head. Gracie was shook up but he could have gone on, he just needed a little time to rest, they ended the fight right there with Frank being DQed. So I am wondering was it inexperienced refs or the fact they were rigging fights that they went bankrupt?

Dana trained to fight Tito in a boxing match. When it came down to it, Tito wanted to promote the fight and make it a pay-per-view deal when it was set up to be a in a gym with no cameras.
If I remember correctly. Tito said some time ago that he would fight Dana for nothing if it got set up.
In the end, Tito tried to build up the hype to force the UFC and Dana white to do it pay-per-view and it blew up in Tito's face making him look really bad.

I know Dana White wants and is itching to get Cung Le into the UFC after his contract is up with Strikeforce. The bad thing though is that when Cung's fight contract is up with strikeforce I think he would think about retirering and focus on movies. If you watch the video, there are 2 very Very VERY horrible stand-ups made by the ref. The stoppage was also VERY early. Kimbo looked really pathetic on his back, his strikes were powerful, but very clumsy and it was just a horrible situation. Dana goes on in later interviews to imply that the Petruzelli situation wasn't the only shady stuff goin on in EliteXC and i personally believe that the ref for Kimbo v Thompson had some "special instructions".

hahaha I know Pride was much better. I remember watching pride when it first started. Mark Kerr, Mark Coleman, Even Rickson Gracie was there.
