  • I love this video. One of my favorite bands out there. If ya'll liked this you should check out this band The 14th Circuit, if i was allowed to post a video link I would, but look them up in youtube, the song Wiggly is the one to check out.

  • who is psyched to see these guys in the DMB Caravan!

  • Love the guy smoking the blunt, right before 2 min...

  • youtube.com/watch?v=pJNsV2d5Fwo&feature=related

  • I really don't care for that modern overtightened snare sound.

  • Man...

This makes me wanna write some serious shit!

I've got to see these Guys live...

    Come to DC puleeze!

  • very groovy

  • does the drummer play in front of the beat?

  • Pprove1-- Go practice YOUR BASS and maybe you'll get to his level of playing

  • anyone knows what kind of a synth it is ?a top one - brown?

  • @treesinroom Pretty sure its a Hohner Clavinet D6. If you listen to Superstition by Stevie Wonder it's the same one.

  • @aremslie thank u very very much!

  • @treesinroom yea he uses an auto wah and plays through a guitar amp with the gain up high to get that weird sound. It's not a clean sound at all.

  • @aremslie thank u my friend!

  • @aremslie not trying to be a dick, but the Clavinet C was used on Superstition. But this dude has a D6, yes.

  • @treesinroom clavinet

  • @emm8295 thanks!

  • Where is the bassist ???

Funk without bass it's a crime...

  • @9AMrecords It's called Neal Evans's left hand

  • What a groove Kraz!

  • whos playin bass

  • @jessejdubb3rd The keyboardist is playing bass keys

  • @jessejdubb3rd Sounds hard as FUCK dont it ? haha..

  • whats that effect Kraz is using!!

  • @darthvadorthestrong It's an octave pedal

  • @darthvadorthestrong It's an octave pedal more specifically the digitech "whammy" pedal.

  • this is one of my favorite clips on youtube. the vibe is just so fresh and positive and dope. love the dude in the background puffin a blunt and just vibin out. kraz just looks into it and neal is blowin it up as usual. i wish i was there.

  • i saw lettuce last year w/o a bass player and was amazed that neal pulled it off on the keys. i saw em this year and they had jesus back on bass and it was better.

freed neal up for mo fownkee ness

  • Where is the bass coming from? I do not see a bass player.....! The keyboardist could not possibly be walking these bass lines, while holding down those nasty chord structures and adding jazzy fills at the same time can he?

  • @4iamu That's Neal Evans...he is capable of doing the nastiest baselines and organ playing know to man, SIMULTANEOUSLY, with ease.

  • @Pprovo1 That is insane!!! I'm a bass player and find it absolutely appalling that guys like this Neal Evans are allowed to be that funky and coordinated on a synth, putting guys like myself out of work. Someone should sue him and Soulive for allowing this two-musician-in-one mess to continue...!:-)

  • @4iamu

i totally agree with you! Same thing; I am a bass player, and I am amazed by his bass parts...on the keyboard!!!

  • @4iamu who is going to hire you? McDonalds? Make your own music, make your own money.

  • @adampvarner Huh!? That was sarcasm chief.

  • Come to think of it, Ibanez should release some kind of Krasno signature guitar...I have the AS103, you should check it out if you are interested in buying a good semi acoustic

  • it is an Ibanez AS73 but my catalogue dosn't tell me the number for that exact finish.

  • @dustinstar04 thats gotta be some custom finish, i havent found it anywhere, i have a feeling its not the AS73, the body looks larger than the AS73

  • @jonankof Kraz says it's an Ibanez AS200 (sco's guitar) But that guitar has a different headstock...I think it's a custom built guitar for Kraz by Ibanez...It's definitely not an AS73, that's a 300 dollar guitar :D

  • @dustinstar04 nevermind it is an AS, but idk the finish

  • that guitar is awesome. what is it? gibson e 355?

  • @jimjamkillsnerds --- I'm pretty sure Krasno plays ibanez guitars. Not sure of the model though.

  • This is the REAL Soulive...

  • @rdgambola so it s not the fake one? represent Buffalo!!!!

  • Not bad.

  • possibly one of the best guitar solos ever

  • Man Soulive is the best! They always know how to throw it down! Talk about truly talented musicians!! Also if anyone's got the time please CHECK OUT my music in my uploads. Thanks!

  • nice crack on the snare Al

  • Comment removed

  • neals off beat times are so fuckin sick , his comping with the hammond is sick around 1:53

  • this is so nasty, craz shreds

  • I had never thought to apply the term to this genre, - but it's undeniable - these guys are virtuosos!!!

  • Just like with the guitarist from the meters, I always detain a "stoned" sense of a groove with eric. This right here is the epitome of succeeding a high grade fusion groove ability. I own a really really big hat, and it goes off to these guys. One day perhaps I might be able to share these abilities.

  • OMG. This version just went into the Scofield area.

    Could have fooled me.

    Great version! Great Playing!

  • Kras is on fire in this one... man look how happy he is! and how good he sounds!!! it's krasy...

  • Lol..Krasy

  • The groove @1:05 OMG!!!

  • And the vamp @3:23 S**T!!!

  • it's a digitech whammy with the octave setting on it...Scofield uses that effect on the pedal too

  • what is this song called???

  • Tuesday Nights Squad

  • kraz is lovin this one

  • Hell to da Yeah!!

  • the effect during the solo around 3:22

  • digitech whammy pedal...pushes another octave on it...sick pedal

  • that dont sound like no whammy to me

  • well duh you idiot its not a whammy... its the digitech whammy pedal, thats what its called

  • we were talking about effects dumbass, way to misinterpret english

  • What kind of effect is on kras' guitar? It makes it sound like a keyboard/synth type thing, maybe its a MIDI guitar? I didn't know he played those if it is

  • I love this groove and that solo is KILLIN'!

  • Jesus Christ! Krasno at 3:22 = SICK!!!

  • wooooo awesome

  • To me ive seen alot of diffrent artist like micheal mcdonald stevie wonder etc do both..you know but ...to have 2 diffrent brains play 2 diffrent songs and make one song..is amazing..he does it every track..i know evans follows kraz..alot..with the baseline so he doesnt mess up the flow..but still..hes just so funky and he murders it..and his brother on drums is beyond disgusting.

  • This is the first time I've heard this arrangement without the horns. Groovin'!!!

  • what's the name of the song?

  • tuesday squad

  • this is so funky!

  • wow! great!

  • one of the greatest tunes ever!!!!!!!!!

    i miss soulive..

  • yea i wuz at the front at the avalon pressed against the stage, the bass patch on the organ is SO fuckin loud

  • Neal has a set of bass keys that are usually WAY louder, this recording just doesn't show it. In concert you can get a heart attack from the vibrations of his bass keys, it happened to me.

  • yeah in my opinion neal's bass through the leslie is what gives soulive their trademark sound. It's like he has two different brains- One for bass and one for treble.

  • Th guitarist is the Bassist i've seen them live a couple of time the best was at the montreal jazz fest 2007. So Iakland001 was sortof right just that the pianist is doin the work lol

    Peace keep Jamin'

  • yeah you need a bass player fuck you ahahah no i'm kidding....this is groovy music.

  • hahahaha

  • aonther vid that proves you do not need bass players to perform live and make it in the music world...keeep it real Soulive!
