  • Get rid of the crap intro. Adds nothing to the song...good old tune, though

  • I saw the Guess Who at Boise State College in 1971, can't remember much, too much dope smoke in the gym.

  • Thank you everybody for getting us to the 2,000,000 view mark!! Cheers to all of you!

  • Sherman, set the way back machine for 1969.

  • @atomicpunk48 That's the truth Peabody! Still a fantastic song!

  • Burton must have been a loyal friend. With his voice and looks he could have easily ditched the rest of Guess Who and teamed up with better talent.

  • @BradinPhilippines Better talent? You really think that Randy Bachmann isn't a talented guitarist? He's one of the best!

  • @PepperoniWolf B.T.O Kix Arse \m/

  • The best Canadian Mormon band ever!

  • @budafel Yeppers. CCR, The Guess Who & Three Dog Night. For early 70's per-disco bands runner305 is correct, "Does it get ANY better than this?". Makes me want to be Canadian. Justin, eat your heart out :-). Now I'm kidding gang okay? :-)

I'll plant you now and dig you later

  • My FAVORITE song from my 2nd favorite band when I was in High School. No offense gang, 1st place in my heart of the bands out when I was in High School was Creedence Clearwater. The Guess Who were a VERY close 2nd though. I have always loved Burton's lead vocals, Randy's guitar and the harmony vocals those guys had AND they did them LIVE! Thanx for posting

  • @dcrimmen Strange. I could have posted your comments myself. They were my 1 and 2 in high school as well. They still hold up really well even after these past "couple" of years.

  • Smoking bass lines.. great drums.. excellent version.. of this super song..

  • I think the 1970 version of this song is much better!

  • I'm not sure which one I want back the most. My 68 Camaro, my sweetie with her halter top on, my long hair, my 8 track player with tapes, or my AM radio listening to these great songs. A time machine would get me back to them all.............somebody HEP ME HEP ME!

  • I counted 43 no times in this song, for someone who has no time hey say no time a lot

    But still a great song

  • Awesome!

  • Same appropriate song for the delivering of endless streams of young men and women as fodder for Bush, Carlysle, Saudi Emirates, B of A, Goldman-Sacs, Dems-Repubes-tea whankers, Monsanto to their senseless deaths....this new year, in Iran................................................

  • As the proud owner of a 70' Mustang Boss 429 in grabber blue, I love this tune. Dodge rocks, but let's not forget the BOSS. Listen, I love Dodge so no fighting over the cars. I did have a 64 GTO conv. with a 389 Tri-power also, so I understand muscle cars and where they originated. Great car and great music-thanks and Peace out!!!

  • The Top selling band in the world in 1969/70 If I recall....This version was too long to market as a single, hence the edited version.

It's great to hear the early feedback use....Canada knows how to rock.

  • this song is about young going into battle flying over seas to kill there fellow man and leave there girls behinde perhapps never to return home fresh out of high school right into the wars of the wealthy

  • I don't remember this version. I like it.

  • @cypresscoach This is the 1969 version of the song(with the long intro and ending)the 1970 version of the tune is well-known. I was 9 when this was out on AM radio. Did you know the Guess Who is from Winnipeg, Canada?

  • @kjchicago1 Yes, I know the origins of the band. I was 14 when this came out, and being from Canada, I listened to the Guess Who quite a lot. I finally saw them in concert in 2001.

  • Many years later.....and it still sounds great. Thanks to my older brothers I grew up with great music!!

  • Saw Guess Who , CCR and Albert Hammond at the Forum In LA in 19... uhhh... Sorry I have CRS ( can't remember SH*T) it's caused by TMB ( too many birthdays) anyway it was a great show. Maybe it was 1970.

  • @SuperScooterpie Ah yes, the fabulous Forum, Inglewood, I saw a few bands there...wish it still was for concerts. Did you grow up there?

  • A totally Psychodalic Period.Iwas only 10 when this came out.By the time I was into them, they had just disbanded but that was okay.Iturned my attetion to the ladies, pot and go old Crazy Train;let us not forget the Workers Band called BTO.O ne of Guess Who's memorable Band Members formed that Band;and in doing so,TOOK CARE OF BUSINESS,if you know what I mean.

  • PS I have the 8-Track

  • @Seahawkwes dude, no way..

  • @Seahawkwes I had the 45 \m/

  • One of the beat songs ever written if you wish to remain an Individual. Yet very Melodic to let them down easy.

  • This song is awesome!

  • 66 people have too much time.

  • I love the drums in this version

  • I am not sure what there is to dislike. Frieken awesome song. The band was great. BC did his usual marvellous stuff on vocals. The song stands the test of time. The lads from the north end should take a bow! Gary, Jim, Randy and Burton go for it!

    ThePeg48

  • @ThePeg48 Agree completely

  • No time left for revolving doors? REVOLVING DOORS? what a buncha lazy fucks! baqhaha jkkkk

  • Who put together the video, nicely done!

  • I like this version better than the version im used to hearing on the radio

  • If there's no thyme left for you, use parsley or sage,

  • @CrackerLance Very good. Receive my condiments.

  • Has to do with leaving the harlots and anti-christ behind...as We ride off into the sunset...

I met these guys around Batchewana Bay...circa 1970.

  • ..nice video montage, liverpool..an all-time classic with excellent backgrounds..

  • 65 people suck.....musically speaking

  • NO TIME! NO TIME! NO TIME! NO TIME. NO NO NO TIME. NO NO TIME. NO TIME. NO TIME. I GOT GOT GOT GOT NO TIME. I GOT GOT GOT GOT NO TIME! FO YO WOMAN. I GO NO TIME FOR YOU WOMAN. • Like NASCAR as much as any N'Easterner, but....listen to the music!

    6 days left in s.gun...2wks in muzzle....wait for spring! (1st.cast )

  • This song makes me want to strip naked and comb my hair while setting ants on fire. It's a good thing

  • Think about this: Burton Cummings has 130,000 tunes on his two I-pods. He so wishes he had them "back in the day" when they were on the road.

  • @countdecibel1 I'm glad you care but I was there and 69 WAS A GREAT YEAR. You can't always believe the "THE RATINGS". But keep up the good work.

  • @tes1637 - My dad used to drag race Chevs. and Dodges...in the 60's and 70's. To answer your question...I think we know the answer - that cursed word - "politics"...like a cancer has crept into anything CREATIVE and PRODUCTIVE or FUN. Don't give up. God loves Freedom and hates cowards. (Rev. 21:8) COWARDS hate you and me.

  • @1954danol AMEN brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Would love to go back to '69 for Woodstock, the Stones @ altamira and the cars....

  • The Beatles wanted to be bigger than Elvis; everybody else wanted to be bigger than the Beatles. Some were: if only for 6 wk on the charts.

  • Amazing, that's all I can say. Listened to this with my mom, this is her favorite song. Thanks so much for posting!

  • I was 10 yrs old and this was just so cool...

  • nice effects....im trippin'

  • We need to provide a movement to get the music industry IN SHAPE. I am mad with the mainstream music. We need great guitar and drums. Not singing and an automated beat. We need music that means something. Not just making money. Cmon. Get singers to start rocking. I play rock drums and guitar. I may start playing amongst other friends to being rock back. Please join the movement and make Bieber, Kesha , etc fall and cry.

  • watch this video 1855168 times.

    per day!

  • @mrstevehartmann, I think Sugar Sugar and Honky Tonk Women tied for #1 of '69. I think Na Na Hey Hey came out in '70....

  • @mrstevehartmann, I think Sugar Sugar and Honky Tonk Women tied for #1 of '69

  • I remember never being very impressed with the version of the "American Woman" version of this song, although I heard this version on an album rock station of out DC and could not figure out why it sounded so much better. Amazing what a different drum and guitar part can do for a song.

  • One of my all time favourite songs.LOVE IT!

  • Viagem...amo.

  • No Time like the 60's and 70's music era. I would go back tonight if it were possible.

  • @hotstuffandicecream Me too! And I would be screaming that we were absolutely right about the Viet Nam war. It was a huge lie and every one since it has been a lie!!! Sorry.. I guess you ..... Guess Who ... is a 60s child? Loved the music. Hated and still hate the lies for wars. Blessings to you. I feel better ... a little. Michael FOOTNOTE: Awesome! I started this note when the song began and finished it at the EXACT moment the song stopped. Does this mean I get to go back now???

  • can u imagine hearing the beginning of this song and being on acid???

  • @701765 done, totally epic, but i got scared shitless, then my mind dazed off with the rest of the song

  • @notoriousElsbrie lol...i can totally imagine

  • We can all agree thqat Canadians started Indi , Electronic and Acid jazz

  • great song !!

  • This song was hugh in Detroit I heard all their stuff on CKLW the Big 8 radio station from Winsor Ont.

  • My sister got a bright yellow '69 Super Bee with a four speed 383 in it for her graduation. Talk about a striped assed ape?! That thing would out run almost everything, especially when our brother was behind the wheel. Wow! those were the days. Dammit!! Jimmy Carter & the Arabs oil embargo ruined everyone's fun ! !

  • @StevieB1362 I ran a 66 Red GTO Tri power 360 hp positraction, redline tires and would have loved to find you on the street Lets run em off ! How I miss those times !! My best friend just got out of the service and bought a 1969 blue corvette balanced and blueprinted from Roanoke Chevrolet 525 hp !Awesome !!

  • I was born last night and I love this song.

  • do you care if i agree !!!!!

  • I first heard this song when I was watching "Pirates of Silicon Valley," and now I really like the song. It is a song I gladly accept playing in my head when it does.

  • I dont know what it is about this song..I had the pleasure of doing secuity for the guess who a while back and saw this LIVE. IT is a SHOW..loved it.. and for top comment i was born in 73...lol

  • The age of fuzzy guitar music, just before before fuzzy logic and, bubble memory.

  • Yes!

  • Guess Who played at my high school when I was 14 years old and I always will be a huge fan of Burton Cummings, Winnipeg and Guess Who. Amen to that!!

  • I wish i could go back to 1969...that was the best year for music, cars....the 69 Chevelle, Nova, Camaro, Mustang, Road Runner....they were the best ever.....And I don't care if you agree or disagree....just stating a fact

  • @1954danol Shame manufactures used such crappy sheet metal back then, the damn stuff would rust out before its time. I'm not saying the cars were not fun to own and drive in a straight line but, there is really no comparison to the technology used in the vehicles today. Today a car can be driven 200K and, with a little care go for another 200K. I still like to get behind the wheel of my 69 Chev once in a while.

  • @1954danol Yes, this song plays in my '68 Road Runner right now baby!!!

  • @1954danol I liked the 1968 models....but yeah, '69 was a rockin' year for music and cars....

  • @1954danol It's a fact for you only obviously!!

  • @1954danol Fact: You wish you could go back to 1969. Opinion: 1969 was the best year for music and cars.

  • @bubbamittens ... yeah, seriously ...

  • @1954danol i dont I was white kid in a black school in fights dayly. it was hard just living at 11 years old

  • @lanceehansen Sorry to hear that man, I really am...I almost had to go one myself...I told them I'd quit first........

  • @1954danol

I agree. I was 8 then and innocent. Had no opinions on politics, culture or morality. All I knew was the great friends, toys, TV shows and my white AM radio I kept by my ear late at night.

  • @1954danol As a professional auto restorer and High School Senior in '70-'71, I must correct: 1970 was/is the RECOGNIZED Best/Milestone year for Muscle Cars...1969's 2nd....(:o)....

  • @Countdecibel1

As the PROUD owner of a 1970 440-6 pack RT/SE Dodge Challenger in sub lime green and also a 1970 383 4 speed with air grabber hood Plymouth Roadrunner in vitamin C orange, I must agree...

  • @299YFT I have a '71 Mustang. 302 Windsor with an Edelbrock manifold and a Holly 4-barrel. Put Black Jack white headers on it ported out to chrome show pipes on each side. Crager Street Super Trick deep dish mags and air shocks to jack up the back. It's good to keep the street legal cars on the road. best wishes, Bro!

  • @299YFT F**kin' cool rides dude

  • @299YFT 70 was a good year for bad ass cars and bad ass tunes!as a matter of fact it was when the muscle car found the top of it's fame.congrats on the rides!

  • @nomiclas GTO Gudge orange with spoilers, showed well but didn't preform that well against the Roadrunner, GTX 440 or the charger for that matter (street racing days back in that era. sure do miss it 40 years later.

  • @syiabona the problem with the GTO,by 198-70 was it got fat!the lean mean 64 w/348 hp tri-power was really something.it looked ok but never had the glitz of the judge cars.

  • @299YFT can relate, had a 70 Roadrunner in Burgandy wth 440 6 pack,, 5122 hp "fast" miss those days today.

  • @syiabona Oops 512 HP

  • @syiabona 1970 1/2 Z28 with the Corvette LT1 350 cu engine here! But it had the paint job from Starsky and Hutch...ouch

  • @Countdecibel1 - Did you ever watch the you-tube from "onlyinadodge" - Alman Brothers - Midnite Rider? Good One which ties in with this one.

  • @brianprince100 No, Brian, but along w/299YFT, I'm MOPAR FOREVER (ask Richard Petty if you disagree); and JUST WHY isn't the Dodge V-10 allowed on NASCRAP tracks ??? It IS a production car, you know ????

  • @1954danol Dude your so right... Blind Faith had just come on the scene....

  • @1954danol

Burton Cummings could sing in any era... I love his voice. Lamar

  • @1954danol

Man, I have my favorites too! Give it some time, like 1--20 years and you just don't know what's gonna happen with the music scene. I love the Cars and all that, but people change and so will the music they love. If you're smart, you won't get hung up in one genre. Lamar

  • Time is getting short for some of us.

Already, some who made the music have passed on.

Children are messingers we send to a time that we will not see.

The world will belong to the youth. Try and make it a better place for being here. Make good music.

I'm just passing through. I'm in The Glory Land Way.

  • @notahemi good luck on your journey

  • just look at the bands now? without that bump-bump-bump-repeat. Is their any hope for a true band to take us back to what music is? Song's not repeating endlessly to three sentance?

Miss when songs whee diffrent and music meant the bands not the writers of today-ie-what - the kids -want

  • I saw them in 2007 and they were still GREAT!!! Long live Canadian ROCK!

  • Burton Cummings has the best voice ever!

He has a remarkable sound and always seems to bring tears to my eyes, but GREAT MUSIC always has a way of going deep and pulling my emotions out.

i know how teenagers feel when the get upset that they missed the 80's because thats the way I feel that i missed the late 60's /early 70's music. that was a grand time to be alive when was born in '65. It'll never be the same.

Enjoy the Time Capule and one of the BEST BANDS ever!

  • @mrbug825 I hope you're not missing the 10's!

  • 62 people are out of time...too bad, so sad....

  • I'm 24, and I just took a dump. And I like this song. Age doesn't matter.

  • I'm 46 and my wife is 41. We have two children. I love this song.

  • @ChrisYonts --I'm 43 and like this song as well. Can you adopt me? I'm house broken as well.

  • This was the long 1969 version! There is another version of this song that came out the following year-in 1970

  • Great song, thanks for posting!

  • BTO definitely was awesome... look at what Randy put into the Guess Who? and Burton is one of the best singers I've heard.

So its official. I'm travelling back to 1956 so I can grow up listening to all this great music and truly understand why my parents love the music as much as they do. Maybe go see all of Rush and Led Zep's concerts and whatnot :)
