Great vid my man question ive been looking at the GSC 3 awhile now and doing as much research as i can on it before i buy it and this being my first major board im not sure how to set it up. i have a dual rectifier and about 5 pedals i use and my question is do you NEED a MIDI switcher for this board??? or can you just go straight into the FX loop of the amp without one?? if you could give me as much info on it i greatly appreciate it sir thank you and keep rocking!
@submit1 That is totally up to you. You can run a board with 5 pedals without a switcher. Possible downsides are potential tone loss with many pedals in serial order and the lack of possibility to switch several pedals and amp functions with one foot step.
The advantages of running the board straight up are ease of set up and real estate on the board.
Up to you really. If you want a switcher, the GLab stuff is hard to beat for price/quality ratio.
@maugiguitar Never owned their amp, but the cab stood out when I tried a bunch in a shop. It outperformed a few much more expensive cabs. Pity that The Heritage have hardly any information out about their stuff.
Exactly my idea. A loop in an old JMP or such with 50 watt. Use the Marshall preamp together with the 3+. Four switchable super tones.1. fender clean, 2. Marshall crunch, 3. CAA 3+ crunch and finally CAA 3+ over the top full out gain :) I have understood by the techs I consult that a power stage can be modded towards Superlead power stage..
Great crunch tones in your rig and very versatile I think. More beefy Marshall a like grind on your Cornford - respect !. Yes I miss the Trio a bit, but I know it is in good hands now :) The multi channel idea of yours with the implementation of a preamp and a top is a very stimulating idea. I`ve for some years now thought about getting a Marshall 2204 and thereby together with my CAA 3+ SE have four great tones. Especially two really good crunch tones. I must follow that idea very soon :)
2204 and CAA 3+ SE - that sounds like pure win to me. Or maybe even better a good ole Plexi or Superlead! But you'd have to get a loop installed, which would be a shame...
