A lot of people who essential did nothing to anyone were killed. I guess you could say if we dropped a bomb on a less populated area they would have just stricken us back. Well, essentially...we could have just used one nuke on a hugely populated area rather than using 2 nukes. Double the fallout with two nukes, so why not just one.

I've seen many scullers race in the Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River in Boston over many years, and that's something they have to be in tip-top physical shape to do.

As far as the Head of the Charles Regatta goes, it's a two day event with scullers from all over the world in teams, and individuals. On the foreign circuit, it seems the Canadiens and Brits are very proficient in the event. American crews are scattered from throughout the country.
If the weather is nice, it's quite an interesting show.

Any reasonable discussion of the strategic bombing of Japan must address widespread firebombing of Japanese cities (which actually killed more people) as well as nuclear weapons. It must also discuss whether or not US actions were proportional to the goals we wanted to achieve.

I've seen many scullers race in the Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River in Boston over many years, and that's something they have to be in tip-top physical shape to do.
Don't cast stones on another man's sport unless you've done that.

As far as the Head of the Charles Regatta goes, it's a two day event with scullers from all over the world in teams, and individuals. On the foreign circuit, it seems the Canadiens and Brits are very proficient in the event. American crews are scattered from throughout the country.
If the weather is nice, it's quite an interesting show.

I might get to the Charles next year, if I do go, I'll see what I can do about meeting up.
However, I would have to find a club in the CA area, or row in a 1-man scull because I cannot row for UW-Madison as my athletic eligibility is worn out.
Though don't expect me to do well if I race. As you know, that regatta is for the super-elite of the sport, and, most likely, I would probably finish VERY far down the field.
